I didn't have time to read this book before release so I will not be leaving a review. If I choose to read this book at some point I will grab a finished copy from my public library and post a review to my Goodreads account.

I really loved the first book, but this book couldn't measure up to that! I so wish I could have liked it more!

Saving Mr. Perfect is the second book in Tamara Morgan's Penelope Blue series. I stumbled upon the first book in the series one day at work when I was shelving. The cover caught my eye, so I decided to find out more about the book. I finished the first book very quickly and eagerly anticipated the release of the next book in the series. I read the second and third books in the series just as fast. I loved the authors writing style, the characters, the comedy, and the mysteries tied in the story. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading romance with a little suspense thrown in. I hope the author continues writing more books about my favorite FBI agent and former jewel thief.

Absolutely love the Penelope Blue series by Tamara Morgan and this book was the perfect addition! I can't wait to see what new and crazy adventures Penelope will get into next!

Yes, I really tried. Really, really tried. But I just couldn't finish this book. The blurb was funny, so I thought it would be a fun read. Even though I had not read the first part. The story is original (or so it seems). But I've been struggling through the pages since August. And now I've decided to give up.

The thing is, it isn't written in a bad way. But the characters just don't appeal to me. So, yes, Penelope Blue you were a burglar. And yes, you married a FBI agent. But don't go behind your husband's back and don't pout at your burglar friends that they don't include you in their activities any more. It feels that she can't make up her mind whether she wants to be a burglar or not.

Maybe if I had read the first part, the characters would have grown on me. But now? Nope, no chemistry here.

So, I'm sorry. But I didn't finish this one. So, two out of five stars from me. And a thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I declare myself a Penelope Blue fan!

If the first book was incredibly awesome, this one keeps up really well.
After the "happy-ever-after" ending (second wedding) between Penelope and Grant, what happens after? Penelope feels lost and unhappy: no job, friends, and too much spare time.
I really liked the mystery of "Who is the Peep Toe Prowler?". The author creates the perfect atmosphere and scenes so EVERYONE looks suspect!
This book is the perfect sequel, mixing romance, mystery and dramatic family relationships.

The Penelope Blue saga is GOLD!

Oh, I am so enjoying this series! I can hardly wait for the next book. If you haven't read the first book, Stealing Mr. Right, make sure to pick it up. This will work as a stand-alone but will be less confusing and more meaningful if you've read the first book.

Trying to make her marriage work, Penelope has retired from stealing, but it's not working. She's restless, itchy, bored, and unhappy. And to top it off, she's sure that she's a suspect in a string of recent jewelry heists. She enlists her old crew to help her determine what evidence the FBI has on her. And the story gets complicated from there/

As you would imagine, Penelope and Grant have a complicated relationship. Part of her appeal for him was the joy and sass she radiated as a thief but those have dimmed. And her being a jewel thief, even a retired one, causes him no end of problems at the FBI. But he doesn't care because he lover her more than he loves his job, and that's saying something.

Saving Mr. Right is a heist story, a romance, a relationship story, and a good time. Penelope and Grant spend much of the story trying to figure out their marriage and how to make it work. Each wants the other to be happy; the question is can they be happy and be married to each other. In the midst of this, Penelope is dealing with changing relationships with her friends and former teammates, and a myriad of familial complications. Grant meanwhile is trying to divert the FBI's attention from Penelope while trying to solve the jewelry heists and deal with an incompetent and annoying supervisor. There were times Penelope's paranoia and insecurities as well as her and Grant's failure to communicate were too much and were just annoying or frustrating but that's how real Morgan made her. Morgan deftly wove the various threads and plot lines together into a story that both entertained and illuminated; she had a good grasp the ever-changing nature of relationships and the challenges of family. But the story wasn't all doom and gloom; there was lots of snarky and laugh out loud humor, some steamy scenes between Penelope and Grant, character growth and change, and several surprises. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book and the repercussions of the events in this book.

Book two in Tamara Morgan’s Penelope Blue trilogy, Saving Mr. Perfect picks up about six months after the end of Stealing Mr. Right, with former-jewel-thief-extraordinaire Penelope Blue trying to adapt to a “normal” life and keep out of trouble – but she’s miserable and bored witless.

She and her gorgeous FBI agent husband Grant Emmerson have agreed they want to make a go of their marriage (which Penelope had tried to tell herself in the first book was just a means to an end), but she’s not cut out to be a housewife and is feeling decidedly sidelined. Her friends – and former colleagues – are cagey around her, and worst of all, she thinks Grant may suspect her of being the “Peep Toe Prowler”, the thief responsible for a spate of recent jewel thefts from a number of extremely wealthy Manhattan residents.

She isn’t of course, but it seems that whoever it is is a copycat and out to throw suspicion in Penelope’s direction, so naturally she wants to get to the bottom of it and find out who it is. But Grant doesn’t want her involved; he’s ruffled enough feathers as it is by simply being married to Penelope who, in addition to being a jewel thief is also the daughter of one of the FBI’s most wanted, the infamous thief, Warren Blue. Grant wants Penelope to fly under the radar rather than risk getting herself arrested, which isn’t all that an unreasonable request from a loving husband, but still… Penelope can’t just sit back and let someone frame her for crimes she isn’t committing.

Add in to the mix the reappearance of Penelope’s hated stepmother, Tara, a suspicious but bumbling FBI agent who seems obsessed with Grant and Pen’s formidable grandmother, and it all adds up to another well-plotted romp into which the author throws the odd curveball while creating an entertaining and often very funny story that, while not as much of a romance as the previous book, nonetheless shows us how Grant and Pen’s marriage is evolving and how they are evolving with it. I admit that I did miss the scorching sexual chemistry of the first book, but I enjoyed how the author looks at Pen’s relationships with those around her and how they have changed – with Tara and Riker especially – and at her situation as someone who is now neither fish nor fowl, having left her life of crime, but not really being part of her husband’s law-abiding world either. I also liked that we got some of the story from Grant’s PoV this time; he needed to be rather inscrutable in Stealing Mr. Right so the reader was never quite sure which side he was on, but now we know he’s a good guy who loves his wife and just wants to keep her safe, it was nice to get into his head occasionally to see where he was coming from.

Penelope is a great narrator and I like her, her sense of humour and her insecurities, but I have to admit that some of the things that bugged me about her characterisation in the previous book are still present here and continued to bug me. She’s efficient and competent when it comes to being a thief, but in other areas she is rather naïve and doesn’t always think things through – and sometimes those two sides of her don’t sit well together.

All in all, however, this is a fun, witty read with a nicely constructed plot, engaging characters and a well-matched central couple. If you’re looking for a strong romantic storyline, then you might be a bit disappointed, but if you’re after a comedy/caper/suspense novel that barrels along at a good pace, is chock-full of sparkling dialogue and also takes the time to construct and examine the various relationships between the characters, then Saving Mr. Perfect might be right up your alley.

Grade: B./4 stars

I read book one and was very interested in getting more from Penelope Blue and Grant. I think they have a lot of potential as a couple. Unfortunately, this book is way more caper than couple. The heist takes center stage and their love and romance is secondary. I would have liked it if Pen or Grant could just be completely honest with each other.

While the second book in Morgan’s Penelope Blue’s series didn’t WOW me as much as the first book, I did like it.

There was the sharp, witty dialogue and the strong cast of secondary characters. It still had the same humor I loved. And a really great leading character, both heroine and hero.

I guess what it was missing was the “will they, or won’t they” get together. Grant and Penelope are an “established” couple that are still working out the bugs in their relationship. Penelope has grown bored. Once a kick-ass jewel thief, she’s now stuck at home, feeling a bit lost at what to do. Her friends are keeping secrets and Penelope feels left out of the loop.

And then there is a new jewel thief in town who is causing trouble.

Penelope suspects that Grant, her FBI hubby, has more information than he’s telling her. AND maybe even suspects his wife as the jewel thief. Confusion abounds….and Penelope sets out to find the thief and clear her name.

The story, more or less, is all about the mystery and not the romance between Grant and Penelope. So, if you’re looking for angsty, hormonal-driven sexy times, you might want to pass. The second book of this series falls along the line as a cozy mystery read.

However, it is a solid, well-written book that deserves a solid 4 star rating. There is character growth. Penelope struggles with her personal demons as well as how she can find that certain “zing” she got when she and her friends cased a job.

And I must say that the most interesting character for me is Oz. I simply cannot wait to find out more about this very quiet, very intriguing secondary character. He stands out on the page for me and I want him to have his own HEA.

Saving Mr. Perfect made me laugh, swoon, and I am looking forward to the next one. Bring it.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Penelope Blue series. Penelope has retired from her career as a jewel thief in deference to her husband Grant's career as an FBI agent. The problem is that now her life seems dull and the story of the new Peep Toe Burglar seems to be causing a problem with Grant. Add to the mix an obnoxious agent seemingly bent on one-upping Grant ( he shot him in the back once with a paint ball) and you have a bit of stress between Pen and Grant.
There is just enough suspense mixed with the increasing heat between Pen and Grant to make this a fun read. I liked the new people that were added in with the old thievery gang. We also learned lot more information about Pen's past and her relationship with her dad and his second wife.
There's a nice twist at the end and I look forward to the next book to see how this couple keeps their opposites attract marriage going.

Saving Mr. Perfect is the second book in the Penelope Blue series. While you can read them as a stand alone I would read them in order.

The author does a fantastic job of creating fascinating characters & an interesting story.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I seem to have a soft spot for these Penelope Blue books. I'm pretty methodical when it comes to selecting the books I read. I hate it when I get one I don't like, so I'm very selective. The thing with Stealing Mr. Right, was that it didn't meet any of my usual book criteria, and I was STILL dying to read it. So I did. And I loved it.

Naturally, I couldn't wait for Saving Mr. Perfect to come out. I wasn't disappointed. I was laughing within minutes, and had to put the book down so my husband could sleep. This book is different though. It's more heartfelt and not as crazy. Don't read this book for the romance. Read it for the laughs, the banter and a bit of a crazy mystery. Don't start with Saving Mr. Perfect. Start with Stealing Mr. Right. Relationship growth is a big plotline in this book and you have to understand Penelope's relationships with people in the first book to see how they've changed (and how devastating it is).

I think people that enjoyed the early Stephanie Plum books will feel right at home with Penelope Blue.

Penelope Blue has officially retired from jewel thievery, and she is bored out of her mind. Being caught in between her former life and her new life isn't easy, and she can't quite find her place in any of it.

With the relationship between her and her FBI agent husband, Grant Emerson, starting to feel strained, and a copycat jewel thief casting suspicion on Penelope's reformed ways life may just be starting to get interesting again...

This was a great book! Continuing the relationship of Penelope and Grant, this book was entertaining and featured a new FBI involved jewel thief case and had plenty of resulting action. All of our favorite characters from book one were back and dealing with their individuals changes of relationships now that Penelope has gone straight.

I am not a usually big fan of reading books that continue relationships (sometimes they get boring!), but this series and story delivered an entertaining and fantastic storyline. I loved the characters, they are all fascinating in their own right and I would LOVE to see more of all of them.

I received a complimentary copy of the book for my honest and unbiased review.

'Saving Mr. Perfect' by Tamara Morgan is book Two in the "Penelope Blue" series. This continues the story of Penelope "Pen" and Grant. I do feel that you should read the previous book "Stealing Mr. Right" first. Pen has given up her life of crime but its not so fun being a housewife. But there is a new theft in town it seems...but some think is Penelope back at it. But Grant knows differently and Pen is starting to think it might be her Step-Mother who is back in town. Pen goes forward with trying to solve the mystery of who is doing these thefts.
This is a real exciting read with some mystery to it along with a few funny parts. Can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

After reading the first book in this series, Stealing Mr. Right, I have been waiting for this book. It was instant love for Penelope and Grant. The witty banter between them had me laughing the whole time in the first book. They are back at it again in this book. Only this time, Grant and Penelope are on the same side as husband and wife. Yep, Penelope could not say no as Grant had stolen her heart.

There is still the witty banter but I found myself left with a few less laughs. Partly because Penelope was a semi-retired thief so her antics were not in full force. Yet, her antics as an "uncover spy" were pretty entertaining. Grant is a saint. He has so much patience for Penelope. They are kind of like the modern day Ricky and Lucy. Then there was the addition of Grant's boss, Christopher Leon. He sure helped to kept things interesting with his flirting with Penelope and his sticky fingers on helping Grant with the case. I am all in for the third book.
