I was pulled into this book from the very beginning. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them. Travis was swoon-worthy and had a dirty mouth which is always my favorite. Emerson was strong and independent but not afraid to fall in love. I thought the beginning of the story was well developed and progressed at a steady pace but it felt like it ended abruptly. The ending was rushed and could have been drawn out a little more. Overall, a sexy read with lots of emotion.

Looks to be the beginning of a new series for Ms Wolff. Sets up a whole teamload of character possibilities. I like what I've seen so far. Was a little jumbled there at the end but the H/h interactions were, for the most part, quite believable. A good read and a solid start.

If this is the start of a series, I can't wait for the next one!

Emerson and Hunter are one of those couples that you think about after the story is over. Hopefully the author will allow us to keep up with them through the next stories (Tanner, hint hint).

This is a full five stars. I loved it.

I really enjoyed this book, I love Hunter and Emerson. I just loved that we got to see Hunter's vulnerable side as he dealt with some heartbreaking news. I loved that they were friends as well as more with the tension between them. I love this author's books and I can't wait for more.

I like the vast majority of what Wolff writes so it was a no-brainer that I'd ask for this from Netgalley. As far as I was concerned, it was a sure thing. Except, it wasn't.

It all starts with the meet. It's pretty ugly. He's way too arrogant. She can't bite her tongue. And it's instant lust. Not a kinda sorta thing either. It's a deep and intense lust that just won't quit. Every time Emerson opens her mouth, he gets hard. I wondered if he had brain cells.

He has issues - heartbreaking issues - and she has... no money. It's clearly a match made in heaven. There was plenty of verbal foreplay, a hallmark of Wolff books, and it was done superbly. But even allowing for the issues he has which make him emotionally vulnerable, I could never buy in to their love long-term. It felt rushed and forced from the very first.

Ah well, can't like them all.

I went into this expecting to read a typical football romance. He's a player, cocky and everyone wants him yada yada and don't get me wrong I do really like those but with this book I got more.

Sure Hunter is a football god and yeah he's cocky and at first he comes off as a complete ass. However his sour attitude that we see up front really is due to the situation he is in and a part of me couldn't help but understand and immediately feel for him.

This is an insta romance and the banter immediately had me chuckling a little. Both Hunter and Emerson give as good as they get. She isn't swayed by him doesn't put up with his shit and I loved that about her.

These two really pulled at my heart almost like fate to me and I found myself so invested in this story between the two. Their chemistry is hot and some of the scenes had my pulse racing.

This book will pull at your heartstrings and at a few moments I felt my chest tighten up a bit.

I definitely loved this book. A great football romance with a heartwarming yet heartbreaking story.

Let me just start by mentioning that although there isn't a "series" mentioned in the title, I noticed that this will indeed be at least an on going...something. And thank goodness, because I seriously need more of these football guys!!!

Emerson seems to have the worst luck. She finally gets a job, but on her first day, her car won't start, it's raining, she's late to work and to top it off...she gets drenched by a truck while standing on the sidewalk. The only thing going her way is the fact that she's actually talking to the Hunter Browning. The star quarterback for the San Diego Lightening football team. There's obviously immediate attraction. Who wouldn't be attracted to him? But he's being a douche. And guess what? She's forced to show him prospects for a new home. Great.

Hunter is ridiculously hot, popular and has never had to chase a girl in his life. But after spending a few moments with Emerson, he knows he needs to get to know her. Problem? He's so used to people throwing themselves at him, that he's forgotten how to actually be a regular guy. And with his personal life turning upside down, he's not even sure he's got the time to fit Emerson in to any part of it. But still...she grounds him. And that's something that he absolutely needs right now.

Hot hot hot!!! This is so hot. The chemistry between Emerson and Hunter sizzles. But it's Hunter's back story and current life issues that will bring you to tears. Literally. Yep, I cried. A few times. I REALLY enjoyed reading this. Not only did I enjoy reading about the relationship aspect of the story, I completely fell in love with a couple of Hunter's teammates. And THANK YOU to the author for making Emerson a strong woman despite her luck and look on relationships. I actually felt like I was reading a "real" love story, not one that I had to use my imagination on in order to like the characters.

I mentioned the teammates, right? PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE let the next one be about Tanner!!!!!! Mmmmm....

Well, when you see a title called a Down and Dirty, and it's about a golden boy NFL quarterback, you sure don't expect it to be really emotional. I'm here to tell you it is, along with being pretty funny as well as some pretty hot and steamy scenes. Hunter plays for the San Diego Lightening football team, and ends up meeting Emerson who is late for her first day on the job at a real estate company. Their first time seeing each other is pretty darn funny, then the story takes off with this quick paced love story. I've read quite a few of Tracy Wolff's books, and have enjoyed all of them, this book is no exception. Had me sucked in from page one and didn't let me go until the last page. Loved a Brent and Lucy, loved the Lightening players we were introduced to, and you wanted to smack Kerry up alongside the head. This story does have some pretty sad emotional situations in it, but it drives home the message on how differently people are when they grieve, definitely have the Kleenex ready, you will need it. Loved the book, would love to see another book with Tanner spotlighted.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book.

This was my first time reading Tracy Wolff and I was not disappointed at all.
I love books that have a hot football player, steamy scenes, two points of views and Romance, so this book is not added to my favs list.

Right from the beginning, I was pulled in; A day from hell is how Emerson Day starts, nothing goes right. Struggling to meet ends, she landed a job at a real-estate agency answering phones and to learn the ropes of the business. Little did she know her horrible day will be a turning point for something so much better.

Hunter is one of the hottest football players in San Diego, he knows what he wants. After adding fuel to Emerson’s bad day, he amps it up and drops his real-estate agent for the new assistant who in just a matter of minutes already has him wanting to spend more time with her. But he has a few issues he is trying to cope with and for the first time in a long while, Emerson helps take the edge away. letting him feel like he can breathe for the first time in a long time.

This romance is fast paced and full of hot and steamy scenes. You will fall in love with both characters and not be able to put this book down.

I loved this book! I couldn't stop reading it once I started. The characters are well developed, the writing was perfect, and I can't wait to read more from this author. Hunter was different than I was expecting, in a good way though. He was witty, dirty, sexy, and has a really big heart. He wasn't just a cocky rich athlete. Emerson was very relatable and I liked how she didn't give up on Hunter so easily toward the end of the book. She knew what she wanted and she wasn't going to let anything stand in her way of getting it. They were funny and cute together and the sex scenes were pretty steamy between these two. I really felt like Hunter did a good job at showing Emerson she was different than the other girls he usually hooked up with and I loved how selfless he was when it came to his niece and nephew. This was a great read!

A quick, fast paced book, with great characters, yet I found that it was over too soon and left questions...like what happened with the main character's boss and her job?
It lacked plot depth, but it was a good read.

Extremely well written if a little bit of a sad story. Highlights the struggle of dealing with the death of a loved one as well as the emotions that come with finding love at the same time you are losing someone dear to you, finding someone to help you get through that difficult time. Started reading and was immediately immersed in the world that was being written, while this does touch on some hard subjects there are many moments of lightheartedness throughout. I would recommend this to any reader and am eagerly awaiting more from the author.

I really enjoyed this book and the relationship dynamic between the two characters. However I felt like the timeline was too rushed. The heroine was so kick-ass so the instalove was a bit disconcerting. And the fact that she babysat the first day she met his niece and nephew. With the death of his sister I felt like the story could have been expanded more. He was such a douchebag to start but the rest of the book he was so sweet so I found that unnecessary. I really love his dynamic with the team and how real the heroine was

I absolutely love all books Tracy Wolff. She has such talent when it comes to writing stories so I read everything she puts out there. This book was everything I've come to expect. Highly recommend this one.

Touch Down! Another winner for Tracy Wolff!

I may have discovered this author by accident, but I'm smart enough to not let her get away now that I've found her. No, I'm not a stalker, just a fan-girl with good taste in books. I get excited when I see her name on a book cover, knowing that I have something delicious to look forward to. And let me tell you, Down & Dirty is delicious. It's better than chocolate, and much more satisfying.

Emerson might have graduated from the school of hard knocks, but she's still getting knocked down. The one good thing that's happened recently is her new job. But it's hanging by a thread now that her car is dead and she is gonna be late to work, even if she can get a ride. And if that's not enough to ruin her day, some idiot just sprayed water all over her work clothes as she was finally arriving late to work. The cocky jerk wasn't even sorry, she could tell. She refused to inflate his head any further by admitting that she knew who he was. She's a huge fan of the Lightning football team he plays for. But she'd keep that to herself and just concentrate on trying to salvage her job.

Hunter is dealing with some hard knocks of his own. He didn't intend to drown the lady, but he couldn't deny that he enjoyed the results. Soaking her skirt and blouse had been an accident, but not one that he regretted. He was enjoying it too much to take it back. Not only was she beautiful, she was feisty too. She was pushing all of his buttons, even ones that he didn't know he had. He was in a bad mood when he showed up, dreading what was to come. But now that he'd seen her, more of her than she intended , he wasn't as reluctant to enter the building they were standing in front of.

Have I intrigued you? I was very curious, wondering what had Hunter twisted. And when I found out, I wanted to go back to not knowing. Because now I was sharing his pain. He let me inside of his head and his heart and made me twisted too. As the story unfolded, I was mentally calculating the outcome. Holding my breath and hoping for things to turn around. Some might say that he and Emerson moved too quickly, but I'm here to say there's passion, and then there's PASSION. And what happened between the two of them was a chemistry so strong that I felt it through the pages of the book, fearing it might spontaneously combust before I got to the last page.

I was totally invested in the characters and emotionally involved in the story. It tugged at my heartstrings and fogged up my glasses. It made me laugh... and cry. It made me smile and blush. It made me want more... Let me tell you, I was very relieved to learn that there will be more. The next book in the series will be Hot & Heavy. The line forms here...

This is a great one by Wolff! Emerson Day and Hunter Browning were fantastic characters and I loved watching their relationship develop! They had lots of steamy chemistry together! I thought they were a really good match for one another. The storyline caught and held my attention all the way through. I was entertained by and interested in this one. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

I definitely enjoyed this one, and I will be checking out more of Tracy Wolff's books.

Without giving too much of the plot away, I thought the relationship between Emerson and Hunter was quite lovely, even though it moved pretty fast. Hunter was such an alpha, which really gets me, and I loved how he was almost instantly protective of Emerson when he found out where she lived. Emerson, on the other hand, definitely doesn't need someone to take care of her, and she makes that very clear to him.

I really connected with both characters as they dealt with tragedy, and my heart broke for everyone involved.

I always have to comment on grammar and sentence structure, and, while there were a few little things that I noticed, overall it was quite well written and I didn't roll my eyes at all at any cheesy dialogue.

I will definitely be checking out the next book in this series, and I'm hoping we will be treated to the stories of Hunter's friends on his team.

Tracy Wolff has done it again! I've always enjoyed her books and this one is right up there with the rest. This is a great story!

I liked the premise right away...Emerson is a struggling artist (recently graduated) and is on her way to her job of desperation in a real estate office. She's just dealt with a broken down car, being late for her first day, then Hunter Browning, the quarterback for a professional football team, pulls up to where she's just exited her Uber ride and sprays her with water from his big truck hitting a mud puddle as he parks in front of her office. I love her attitude when he tries to appease her with a smile...like she'd fall for that!

But Hunter is more than he seems. And Emerson has a depth for caring, even when she's handling her own issues and insecurities, that goes above and beyond what many people would have for someone they've only known a short while.

Without giving the story away, certain circumstances are heartbreaking but also shows just how far someone will go in forgiving and supporting the one they love.

I'm hoping Tanner's story is next!

I’ve never read Tracy Wolff before and obviously, I’ve been missing out.

Shame on me.

Down & Dirty is hilarious from the get-go. Emerson’s not having a good day. Her car breaks down, she’s barely making rent, and she’s late for day one of her new job at a high-end real estate company. And to top it off? Some jerk speeds through a puddle, drenching her from head to toe. That guy turns out to be the Lightning’s star quarterback, Hunter Browning. And his attempt at an apology sucks.

Gosh, but this book was funny! Emerson doesn’t take anyone’s shit and she has no intention of taking Hunter’s, whether he’s a charming, hot and famous football player or not. But she’s caught up in him anyway.

I love how Hunter matches Emerson’s energy. He’s more than willing to call Emerson on her BS too so they’re definitely well-matched. There’s instant attraction and with the fire in her eyes, Hunter can’t get the striking redhead out of his mind. So he drops his other agent—the owner of the real estate company and Emerson’s new boss—for the one-day new hire herself.

Hunter and Emerson definitely get off on the wrong foot, and they also get off on butting heads and bickering. They are scorching hot together, and I was completely sidelined by Hunter's intensity. Note: You'll probably never look at paint the same way again.

Jam-paced with emotion, everything's a whirlwind—on the fast track—and I was swept along, quite willingly, for the ride. Soon enough, we discover why Hunter’s so desperate to find the house for him and fair warning, have some tissues handy.

Once I got hooked into Down & Dirty, I was there to stay. Emotional, genuine, funny and heartwarming all at once, this is a story that will stick with me.

5 Game On stars!

I loved this book. Hunter and Emerson were fantastic. He was strong, hot, famous and special with a heart. She's feisty, funny, smart and the kind of character you can really get behind. I loved the dynamics between the two, how they brought out things in each other. The play between the characters was fun and heartfelt from beginning to end.
