After reading the blurb for Devil You Know I was excited to get my hands on this book to read. Liz is becoming a favourite author of mine because she writes amazing books that you just fall in love with instantly and just want to devour them! That was no different with Devil You Know, she succeeded and more in my opinion!
The journey of Thea and Damian takes place of the course of several years but you don't really notice the length as you are just waiting on tender hooks to see when they finally get their HEA.
You instantly get sucked into this story and the journey these characters go through to finally get their happy ending. It is a difficult and long journey, one with lots of struggles, heartache & betrayal but it's worth the wait to see them happy in the end.
This was a huge 5 star read for me! And I am looking forward to seeing what Liz has in store for other characters from this book!

Before you start Devil You Know there are a few things that you should prepare. First let everyone know to not disturb you because once you start reading this you may murder or hurt anyone who has disturbed you (trust me on this my husband is still limping, joking, or am I?). Tissues. Have boxes, yes boxes of tissues close by you will need them. Third bubble wrap or some form of protection for your e-reader to protect it when you throw it because you will throw it and then run and pick it right back up again. Got all of that? Good. Now I can proceed.

Holy hell this book, I am still a wreck after finishing it. I started reading it after a string of dnf or low rated books so I was hoping this one would be amazing and it was, I just wasn’t prepared for the fact that I am STILL thinking about this book. To describe it as an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement and not quite the right word because it is so much more than that. If you don’t feel anything while reading this one then you must be dead because there is no way you can’t have emotions all over the place with Devil You Know.

Damien and Thea these characters will stay with you, they will become a part of your soul. I won’t go into a lot of detail because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but this is one I will be reading again very very soon, I just can’t let it go.

Devil You Know is a MUST READ in my opinion, I loved it! Go one-click now and add to your TBR and put it on the top of your list you will NOT want to wait to start this one.

I can only imagine the undertaking it took for L.A. Fiore to bring Thea and Damian’s story to life. Thea always has so much to say in the text while Damian is the silent and brooding type – a man who thrives on discipline and control because his childhood, namely his mother, made him feel like a worthless monster not fit to love or be loved by anyone. But even though Damian is a man of few words, it’s essential to understand his thoughts about Thea and his love for her as well as the reasons he had to let her go all those years ago, allowing them both to focus on themselves and achieve their individual goals.

While Devil You Know is told mainly from Thea’s perspective, Damian’s voice is there to shed light on his time away from the girl who has owned his heart since they were 17, and while Thea, readers, and maybe even Damian’s friends/family may not understand why Damian did the things he did, pushing Thea to let him go and forcing himself to keep his distance from her, because readers are privy to Damian’s thoughts and the complicated mindset that he has when it comes to his mother and the devilish person she made him out to be, we can fault him for wanting to find his place…to find a new way to define himself away from his mother’s venomous words…to become a man deserving of Thea’s love.

Thea and Damian’s story spans over a decade, and while most of those years were spent apart, they were never far from each other’s thoughts, and they never stopped loving one another or hoping for a chance to stay true to their younger selves and the promises that were made all those years ago. Timing is everything, and for many years, it was always the wrong time and the wrong place for Thea and Damian to reconnect as adults, and unfortunately, the events that bring them back together and force them to address their feelings for each other are exactly what prevent Damian from losing his disciplined and controlled manner and giving into his reckless feelings for Thea.

The love that Thea and Damian have for one another has never been in question, but sometimes, there are extenuating circumstances that prevent even a bond like theirs from having a chance at forever, and while I never doubted that they would ultimately find their way back to each other, the struggle to get there along with Damian’s hands-off, closed-off approach and the dangerous situations that Thea finds herself in definitely made me nervous, frustrated, and a bit out of sorts; a love like Thea and Damian’s love should always reign despite the outside pressures and self-recrimination, but that didn’t seem the case for much of their story, so waiting for their time to come had me wanting to shake Damian even though I completely understand his frame of mind and his reasons for waiting to claim what has always been his.

Like all of Fiore’s other stories, Devil You Know has an amazing cast of supporting characters – ones who are family even though they’re not blood related…ones who have Thea and Damian’s backs at all times and ones who would willingly take on their burdens just so they didn’t have to deal with them alone. Thea’s family and best friends along with Damian’s teammates and friends are a testament to the kind of people that Thea and Damian are and they are there to protect as well as comfort them throughout the course of their journey to happily ever after.

L.A. Fiore definitely knows how to write broken alphas, and while I’ve adored her other heroes, there’s something about Damian Tate that stands out above the rest…I’m not sure if it’s his incredible discipline or his need to do right by Thea and her family at all times…maybe it’s his unwavering sense of honor or his ability to remain focused despite the chaos surrounding him.

The idea that Damian sees himself as a monster…a devil that will only drag those he loves down to hell with him is meticulously displayed, but as much as the ghosts of his past remain an albatross on his back, constantly negating any successes he’s had to unburden himself by reveling in Thea’s love, it’s also clear that Thea and those who love and support Damian don’t see him as a burden; they see him as a truly magnificent man – one who has battled the sins of his parents and found his salvation with his band of brothers and the woman who has always held his heart.

L.A. Fiore is an amazing storyteller; every time I dive into one of her books, I know I’m going to be immersed into a passionate, thought provoking story – one whose characters are meticulously developed and one that fosters a bond between them and the readers who Fiore allows into her characters’ world.

Damian is no longer lost, so now that he’s found, I’m hoping L.A. Fiore helps Anton find his way to redemption as well because out of all of the men introduced in Devil You Know, he’s the one whose story I need to read next!

Damian had horrible parents his father left him and his mother abused him. When Damian got into high school he met Cam and Thea twins. Damian just from one picture seeing Thea he saw light and a beautiful girl but he wasn't talkative person and she deserved better. Until one day Damian and Thea finally got together but there plans for the future were totally different so they separated. But when something shocking happens to Thea's family will Damian come to the rescue or will he stay hidden away? Beautiful second chance romance that will melt your heart. 5/5 stars ****Reviewed for Sweet & Spicy Read provided for a voluntarily Advanced Reader Copy of this book ****

Truth be told, from the synopsis I was preparing myself for something dark when I started this. But that's not the case with this story. True, Damian's home life is definitely the stuff of nightmares, but that wasn't a large factor of the story; although it was the basis for some insecurities Damian had as a teenager, but at least the Ahern family embraced him like one of their own. Thea is a like a breath of fresh air (her early attempts at baking? HILARIOUS!) I wasn't sure how Anton was going to figure into the story, but I loved the way he was written (and I'm hoping his story his next).

Now, I will say that the time frame of the story that takes place between 2004-2017 had my feelings all over the place. There were so so so many times I wanted to reach into my e-reader and shake Damian 16 different ways. Even more so once he was back in town to stay he was still frustrating. There's a very good reason why he came back, and that is the point in which the story starts to blend in the mystery and suspense portion of the story with the possibility of a second chance at love for Thea and Damian. There are still more secrets to uncover: deception, corruption, and murder. I was disappointed (but not surprised) as to who was behind everything, only because of who the person is; that just added a bit more misery for those parties involved.

I love how the story wrapped up, and shows that if it really is true love, it will never die, no matter how long or how far apart two people are. L.A. Fiore slayed it with this book!

Something drew me to Damien from the very beginning of his story. Maybe is was the heartbreaking way he was treated as a child. I so wanted to wring that monster of a mother's neck with every hateful word of poison that came out of her mouth. Maybe it was the connection he had with Thea. I loved that she wanted something more for him and to show him family through hers. What begins as that turns into so much more as they get older. Their story is a rollercoaster of emotions from the start. There are some serious twists and turns within their love story and I so enjoyed it.

I give Devil You Know 4 hearts!

Wow,what can I say, this author has done it again with this book, what an amazing story. I was sucked in to the story from the first page and couldn’t put it down till I’d finished. This author has a fab way of developing the perfect plot. This book will take you on an emotional ride as you read. This book has fantastic characters, you will just fall in love with them as you read. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.

Devil You Know by L.A. Fiore is a story about love, family, loss and second chances. It was emotional and suspenseful. This was my second novel by this author and I am now a forever fan. This woman gave us Abel Madden, which I never thought she could top, but boy did she!

Thea Ahern met the love of her life her senior year of high school. One look and she lost her heart to him. I loved Thea. She was sweet and caring and loved with her all heart. She grew up in a loving home and knew how lucky she was.

Damian Tate knew happiness for only a short time early in life, but then everything changed. Growing up as he did, he thought very little of himself. But one day his friend Cam Ahern introduced him to his family and he found a home. A place he could belong. I loved Damian, but my heart also broke for him. He was a strong man. But a man with many doubts and insecurities. He knew he had to make something of himself.

I loved Thea and Damian. They loved each other. Knew their love was the forever kind. But sometimes life gets in the way of what you want most. Thea went to college and Damian enlisted in the army. Though they saw each other through the years, their timing always seemed to be off. But when tragedy strikes, Damian finally comes home. But what happens when so much time has passed and you are not sure you are the same people anymore?
What I truly enjoyed about this story is there was no outside drama between Thea and Damian. It was just wrong timing over and over. During their time apart, each grew in different ways. Damien came to realize his past did not define who he was and Thea learned letting go sometimes brings you exactly what you always wanted.

Add in some amazing characters and a mystery and you have a story that will captivate you until the very end. I loved Cam, Thea’s brother, their crazy friends, family and neighbors. You come to realize love and family does not always mean related by blood. It is those that stand by you no matter the cost.

After years apart, could Thea and Damian find their way back to each other for a second chance at love? Or would the danger surrounding Thea finally separate them forever?

This was a great read. I loved this story, the characters and the love between these two characters. Another must read.

Devil You Know by L.A. Fiore was an amazing 5-star read.

THE DEVIL YOU KNOW was another second chance romance from L.A. Fiore and she hit it out of the ballpark!! It was a sweeping tale of love that spanned more than a decade and I was immediately enamored and captivated with the story of its characters.
"I've waited for you for half of my life. I want a lifetime with you."

I fell in love at first read with Damien. He was first introduced as a sweet five year old boy whose father ended up abandoning him, leaving destruction in his wake. His mother became abusive and he became a little lost. She had so much anger and hatred inside and pushed it all on poor Damien's shoulders. Therein lies the seed that made him doubt his own self-worth. Luckily, at the age of 16, he becomes best friends with Cam and through this friendship he meets Thea, Cam's twin sister. It was almost love at first sight for them. Initially intending to enlist in the army, as his relationship with Thea deepened and grew, he started to envision their future together. That is until his mom reared her ugly head, spewed her nastiness, and had him doubting all over again. Those doubts separated the young lovers for almost 15 years!!

There was a passage in the book that not only tells of the great love between Damien and Thea, but beautifully sums up how powerfully poignant their story really is.
"I've waited a long time for you and now that I finally have you I will move Heaven and Earth to keep you right where I've always wanted you, at my side. I will walk in the rain so you stay dry, I will forgo food so you can eat, I will take the pain so you won't feel any and I will absolutely step in front of danger to keep you safe."
Tears rolled down my cheeks and he wiped them away. "I've waited a long time for you too, so let's get an umbrella big enough for two, let's plant a garden so we always have food, let's share the pain because we have each other to seek comfort in and let's just avoid danger because living a life without you would be worse than death."

I hope the author isn't too upset that I revealed this portion because I just couldn't help it. I need you to truly understand how incredibly amazing this story is. It blends romance, family, friendship, and even a bit of a murder mystery. Each character remained relevant and the strength of their connections were palpable. I want an Anton in my life too!! Damien's POV gave this story a special deepness and gravity yet there were so many lighthearted moments that things didn't turn dour or dark. In all honesty, love didn't just make an appearance in this book, it was this story's statement. It didn't languish and it didn't die. It didn't only survive, it prevailed and the evidence was in the way that Damien and Thea found their way back to one another and finally captured their own version of a happy ending.

AMAZING!

Thea and Damian met when they were in high school. He became a constant presence in Thea's house after becoming best friends with Thea's twin brother, Cam. They become friends and soon fall in love with each other.
But Damian's ghosts make him leave Thea. While Thea goes to college, Damian enlists. Although apart, their love remains strong.
After years away from each other, tragedy and trouble bring Damian home. Will Damian and Thea have finally their chance?

I loved Devil You Know! The story is amazing and it hooked me from the first page. It took me in a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I couldn't stop reading. It broke my heart, put it back together, and made me swoon, laugh, and cry. Devil You Know is full of drama, laughter, sexy scenes, heartbreaking moments, with the right amount of suspense and mystery.
I loved that the story was told from Damian's and Thea's POVs and the chemistry between Damian and Thea. It was off the charts!

I loved Thea! She's a strong, independent, funny, sassy, smart woman. She fell for Damian when she was in high school and no other man measured up to him. I loved that she wasn't afraid to speak what was on her mind and how she always followed her gut and her heart.
Damian Tate grew from a reserved boy into a tall, dark, silent and broody man. He has been through a lot, between his family, having to let Thea go and the army. He's very possessive and protective, but he has a heart of gold and he's very charming. He made me swoon several times, especially when Cam asked him what his intentions with Thea were.
I loved Thea and Damian's family. They showed that blood isn't necessary to become family.

L.A. Fiore didn't disappoint with Devil You Know. She gives us a phenomenal book, with a captivating story and awesome characters. I loved the writing style and it made it very easy to connect with the story and the characters.
Prepare yourself for an amazing emotional ride! You won't regret a second!
I can't wait to read Anton's book!

In Devil You Know readers are introduced to Damien Tate and given a view of his world. You're taken on his journey with him of finding his true family, discovering his one true love, losing her, and fighting to get her back. It's not an easy journey but Damien is a determined Hero and won't let life stand in the way of him getting his woman.

This story starts in 2003 when Damien is a young boy and progresses quickly up until he is sixteen. There is when you get to see him make his friendship with Cam Ahern, which changes his life and lets him meet Cam's twin Thea. From there you get to see him and Thea circle each other until they just can't deny their feelings for each other.

I really loved that the beginning of this book was kind of slow but gave us a ton of information on Damien. I fell in love with him when he was still a young boy in this book and there wasn't a doubt in my mind that he was going to grow up to be an amazing Hero. I don't actually want to say too much from where the book moved on from there because it's something readers should experience by going in bling.

Damien and Thea did not have an easy love story but it was one that had my eyes glued to my Kindle for hours until I finished. I seriously did not move from my spot on my couch from the second I started reading until the very end. I don't think I can recommend this book hard enough so please please read it.

In all honesty there were a few parts where I thought there was maybe a tad too much information going on and the story started to drag just a little, but it didn't stop me from loving the story. Bottom line, pick up this book and don't plan on putting it down or paying attention to real life until you're finished.

Where do I start in describing a book, a book that took me on such an emotional journey that brought me to tears, that took my heart thru such a beating yet it kept on going. It’s a military story and one that involves 2nd chances regarding the heroine and hero. Their love story is followed from the beginning and thru the end which was great from a storytelling standpoint but for my nerves, not so much (smile). This story is told thru the dual POV most of the time. This book tells the story of two people who feel in love as young adults, who fell who completely in love and then made decisions that tore them from each other arms and then them finding their way back to each other was a slow and at times, brutal process.
Damian has fended for himself since he was a young child since his father walked out on him and his mother , which sent his mother into this abusive tailspin. It sent him and his life into this cruel, twisted , and sick way of life with his mother whose mind was never the same after his father left. It’s a wonder that Damian came out of that with such a kindness and a good head on his shoulders. He ended up though this dark and silent alpha male who was this look but don’t touch type of person. Cam and Damian meet up in HS and his whole family take him under their wing and pretty much adopt him.
Thea, Cam’s twin sister, fell for Damian immediately but he didn’t see her as anything but Cam sister. She is sweet, sassy and just adorable. It takes a spark and before you know it, these Two have fallen in love as teenagers. Things are moving along until decisions get made and that’s when the train goes off the tracks. Thea didn’t like what Damian was doing but she supported him anyway.
When reality kicks in and things happen, its like Im yelling at my kindle because I could see heartbreak coming from a mile away for these lovebirds but they couldn’t hear me. Their story moved me greatly and I cried when “that moment” happened and Thea lost him. It wasn’t her fault but Damian trying to protect her when he didn’t need to. Stupid alpha male… their love story spans years. Thea and Damian's journey was such a huge emotional rollercoaster. Also besides the struggles they went through in keeping their relationship together , they were having to deal with something so much bigger that was threatening their lives and the lives of others that they loved.
This story deals with 2ndchances, deals with how much family means, the importance of love and to never give up on love … I loved how L.A. Fiore gets her message across and writes such a beautiful story that moved me, made me laugh and had me rooting for Damian and Thea for them to get their HEA. This is one story that stayed with me long after the reading because of such fabulous writing and beautiful characters, both main and secondary. I cannot wait for the next book in this new series “Lost Boys”.

LA Fiore has done it again, she has weaved a beautiful story and great start to a new series. It could not put this book down, I was up till 2am to finish this.

I do love a second chance story and this was a brilliant spin on it. I felt so emotional at points reading this book. All the emotions were so beautiful and raw, you could feel them seeping off the pages. You really feel like are on the journey with Thea and Damien, like your there experiencing their love with them. Their first contact, first kiss, first time together, it was simply beautiful.

Thanks to Damian's mother, although you can't really call her that, he feels that he's not good enough for Thea and to keep her safe he feels that he needs to go. Their paths end up going separate ways when Damian enlists in the military, they part ways but never truly let each other go, their love is so beautiful that their feelings remain despite not seeing each other for years. For 13 years they miss out on being together and it's only when danger is close to Thea that Damian can't stay away anymore.

I was devastated when they parted, I kept wondering how they could do that to themselves, to walk away from the person that had their heart. I also was in awe with their strength, the loved the other person so much they put their needs first no matter how much their heart broke.

I truly loved the banter between Thea and Damian when he returns into her life, well mainly Thea's banter, her conversations she has with herself to try to spark something in Damian is hilarious. I completely fell for her more. I couldn't believe how strong Damian was in keeping his stoic military attitude and trying to remain detached when everything was screaming at him to grab Thea and never let her go. I was both amazed at him and wanting to hit him upside his head.

I really liked the suspense story that was running along side their relationship. I went back and forth between my 2 suspects and was kept on the edge of my seat waiting to see if I was right or not.

I was very happy to see an appearance from some favourite characters from the Beautifully Damaged series. The secondary characters were brilliant and really complimented Thea and Damian. I can't wait to read Anton's story next

Another truly brilliant 5star read from LA Fiore and one not to be missed.

I seriously love L.A. Fiore's writing style! I love getting lost in her stories and the way this book started definitely grabbed me and wouldn't let me go until the very last page. The prologue was so sad and made me feel for Damian. It allowed the reader to see the pain, hurt, and anger in his past and why he was the person he had become. And I thought it very interesting how Thea became known to both Damian and the reader. It was unique. I really liked the family dynamics of the Aherns. I enjoyed how they embraced Cam's friend and he never left. They were a family I'd want having my back!
Watching Damian and Thea's story unfold had me gasping for breath at times. It was sad, sweet, lovely and so damn heartbreaking. Damian's past kept him from moving forward at times, but he and Thea had a special bond and they couldn't seem to ever let go. Their love forged a bond like no other. And as a reader, I kept cheering them on! And the things that were happening around them were totally captivating. The plot kept twisting and getting thicker and thicker and I didn't want to put this book down. I was completely immersed in Damian and Thea's world and I didn't want to come out. In fact, I'd definitely like to be friends with her! This is one of those stories that holds you captivated long after THE END. I haven't had many book hangovers so far this year, but this is one of them. I HIGHLY recommend this book and I look forward to the other books in this series!

Final Score - 5 I Need More Stars!!!

Damian Tate has it rough - his dad left when he was just a kid and his mom ... well, let's just say she much of one. During his high school years he meets Cam and they become fast friends. He also meets Thea, Cam's twin sister, and sparks immediately fly. Damian becomes a part of their family, thanks to the loving parents that Thea & Cam have - it wouldn't be any other way for them. With each day, the magnetic connection between Damian and Thea grows - stronger and stronger until they fall in love. Everything is good and right in their love, until reality (or Damian's "mom") kicks in. Damian is forced to make some hard decisions about their future together.

From the very first page of this book, I knew my heart was going to be ripped out and stomped on. I was on edge all throughout it, wondering if Thea and Damian's rollercoaster journey would bring them back together. The struggles they went through in order to keep some semblance of their relationship in tact and together, touched me so deeply I often found myself ugly crying. They also had to deal with something so much bigger that was threatening their lives.

The themes of love and family is shown throughout this book and I love Ms. Fiore for giving it such importance. She reached out and touched this reader's soul, made my heart beat fast, and with every page of those sex scenes - oh lawd, I just about died! The characters were well developed as well as the storyline. I laughed A LOT, I cried A LOT MORE, and I have to say, I got #AllTheFeels about it as well.

Devil You Know is my first L.A. Fiore book, and WHOA, what a book to start with! Oh My God, this book ... I was in #bookhangover after reading it. It was more perfect than I expected - having only read the blurb previously. Ms. Fiore has put her stamp on my heart with this one. And the fact that it's a series? BRING IT! Cuz I want MORE!!!

L..A. Fiore has done it again! My poor heart shattered in tiny pieces, as I sobbed my way through out this story.
Damian is the quite type of man, who holds so much pain inside and has many secrets behind the depth of his eyes. His life at home has been nothing but cruel. While Thea has everything she could ever dream of, a home, family, friends. Then she meets Damian, and she can't help but feel the need to help him. Show him just what it's like to feel loved.

I loved this book so much, and I can't recommend it enough!

***ARC Provided by the author and The Next Step PR***

Damian and Thea were, at times, almost star crossed lovers. There was a push and pull with them, some miscommunication, some expectations and disappointments...and all of this draws the reader through the story.

You meet them at the beginning of their story. You follow them through all of it, to see where they go, how they change, how they grow apart and together again.

There is definitely angst here, as you know that their hearts are still with the other, even when life seems to be saying they need to go in different directions.

A large part of the book is spent with them not together, and you still feel a connection between them. This is, in my opinion, the strongest part of this story...the connection being there for the reader even when they are apart.

I definitely recommend this book...it is one you will think about even after it is finished.

"Maybe I really was the devil."

Devil You Know is the latest offering from L.A. Fiore and the first book in the Lost Boys Series and what a story it was. I was totally consumed with Damian and Thea's love story and may or may not have wanted to claim Damian as my own!

An intricately woven story of love, loss, honour mixed with mystery and characters that were real. All their feelings, insecurities and flaws laid bare amongst the pages. I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster and just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore I would be made to laugh out loud by the witty banter between them.

Told through dual narrative over a period of years to present day. I felt the author did a fantastic job of pulling everything together and I have say I throughly enjoyed it!

Highly recommended. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
