The book title caught me from the moment I saw it, the amazing story is what held me. 10 stars if it were possible.

Just so, so for me. Viking was pretty hot, but a jerk. Didn't deserve his shield maiden. She deserved much better than him!

I avidly watch the viking series on television, so when I saw this book I got excited. Overall, this was just an okay read for me. I didn't like how the story between the two main characters played out. I didn't really like the main characters either, which affected my read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Certainly a different romance. Good overall writing .Thanks!

This story is very well written the author does an excellent job of capturing this time period not only with environment and behavior, but also with language. It moves at a steady pace and there are no wasted paragraphs, characters are well developed and interesting. However, there is not enough backstory on the characters, so you are not privy to enough information to actually like or care about the characters. I believe this book had a ton of potential and would have rated it higher if I cared about the characters more.

I liked this book but I feel like it has so much more potential. I thought the main characters personalities were well developed for the length of the book. The storyline was solid and it moved at a fairly fast pace. There was a twist thrown in that I wasn't expecting so that was a nice surprise and made my opinion of the book go up. The problem I'm having with this book is the writing and dialogue. The writing was just OK and with some editing I think it can be really good. At times, the dialogue was a little too cheesy for me and a lot of the words and phrases used didn't exist during the time of the Vikings. If you can look past these things, it's an enjoyable story with a happy ending. This book certainly didn't lack sexual tension or steam and honestly, that's what kept me reading and engaged.
