The writing is honest, sometimes harsh. In Sour Heart you will feel what Zhang feels, what parents feel, what lovers feel. You will be overwhelmed by the descriptions and writing and feel emotionally spent by the last page. You may not always agree on the tone or the actions, but you will be engaged and engrossed by the vivid storytelling that Zhang gives to you with Sour Heart.
