I totally loved this book! Thank you Timothy Hoy for writing a book I couldn't put down. It also provided me with the opportunity to wonder what I would have done in Tessa's situation.

This book had an interesting premise and did have this reader questioning 'who did it' for awhile. It began at a good clip; the main characters were well fleshed out and initially likable. However, I believe the author dragged the story on for several chapters too long. When it was finally drawing to a close, it seemed a bit trite to me.

Very interesting psychological thriller told in alternate voices of an artist, Alec, and a young policewoman ,Tessa, who meets him by literally bumping into him on a street! The author does a great job at turning things around often so that what you think you know is far from the truth. Both characters are likable, the use of learning small things from the future as we learn of what is happening now keeps them intriguing. Tessa is a strong policewoman however she is very insecure, unsure about her love life. Alec comes across as a rich, talented artist, who we learn has alot of 'baggage' to deal with. As these two start a relationship, both of their work and personal lives cross sharply, and then the questions begin! I enjoyed reading this and thank Netgalley, author Tim Hoy and publisher Alibi for the chance to read and to give my thoughts about this story.

I love psychological thrillers. The story is told from the interesting perspective of both the police detective and the suspected serial killer. Every time I thought I knew the real killer, I was wrong! This book does keep you guessing all the way through!

What a rush! As soon as you think you know "whodunnit," you're wrong. Told in an alternating narrative between Tess and Alec, the reader can't help but feel deeply connected to both. The problem is, they can't both be right. So who's lying? Hoy delivers tempting details from the future often enough to make you rethink everything you've learned, every step of the way. Tess is a strangely likable, if not somewhat pitiable woman, whose professional passion and skill is often shadowed by her quest for personal happiness.

Psychological thriller, loved it! Kept me guessing until the very end...was Alec guilty, was he a serial killer or has he been framed? Once you start it, you won't be able to put it down.

The alternating voices of D.I. Tessa Grantley and her serial killer suspect Alec Haney makes for a unique perspective in this exciting police procedural. What are the boundaries for love, for trust, for truth?
D.I. Grantley meets Alec Haney by accident. Literally. She is fascinated by him, intrigued, and not a little excited to be invited to a gallery opening of Alec's first show. Unfortunately she is immersed in a serial killer case and almost blows off the gallery opening. At the urging of her cousin she decides to attend. What Tessa didn't count on was that the one accessory she really needed, handcuffs, she had left at home. Devastated to arrest Alec for several murders, she is nevertheless relieved the murders will now stop. Alec, in his turn is bewildered and scared by the arrests and once out on bail determined to prove his innocence. There is only one thing connecting him to the murders, but it is a biggie to overcome.
This is a well written, but I have to question some of the police aspects-Tess a D.I. in her twenties? This is a major investigator on the case, but she barely has to testify? Bail for a suspected serial killer?
I also wish Tessa had been fleshed out a bit more which might help in understanding some of the choices she made. But despite the oddities of both characters, the author does a good job of making them sympathetic.
There are some twists and the author does a good job of misdirection. Short chapters move the action along. Despite being alternating voices it is not a he said she said, it's more that each character is adding information to the story.
I want to thank NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

A serial killer with a liking for young blonde women has struck fear into the hearts of Londoners. DI Tessa Grantley is looking for a way to relax after another day with no leads when she bumps into artist Alec Hanay, literally. The two strike up a friendship/budding romance and he invites her to a showing of his work. While there, she realizes that Alec has painted portraits of all the dead women. A case is quickly made against Alec and he is arrested. Still, Tessa has her doubts. Could the man she’s come to care for really be a serial killer? Told from both Alec and Tessa’s viewpoints this is a Did he? or Didn’t he? story that had me flip-flopping all through the book. A fine effort with plenty of surprises
