Life as a Prayer was a good devotional. I liked how it was easy to read and yet also thought-provoking at times. I liked how each devotional had an "intention" (which was basically a short "I will apply this today this way" and a prayer at the end of the chapter. It was a great way to sum up everything from the devotional.

All in all, a good read and I can see myself rereading it in the future.

This book is an amazing devotional and I thoroughly enjoyed taking time away from each day to focus on the messages and try to apply the principles.

The devotions are grouped into eight different groups that are very relevant to us all. Some that had a large impact on me were- Awareness, Healing and Hope, and Courage. The others were also amazing.

Each devotion contains inspirational text, a few questions and a short prayer. I found the questions great to think about during the day. I am even planning to re-read this devotional and journal some of my answers to the questions and changes that I have been able to make in my life.

Life as a Prayer is a wonderful devotional for every day. The devotions are grouped into eight different groups: Awareness, Healing and Hope, Courage, Connection and Compassion, Joy and Creativity, Faith, Sanctuary and finally purpose. Each devotion contains a short inspirational text, a few questions to think about during the day and a short prayer.
I really liked this book. One or two devotions can easily be integrated into each day. The prayers were beautiful and really spoke to my heart. The devotions were always relatable and cover different topics like hospitality, regret and how to enjoy each day as a gift from God. I would recommend it to any woman that likes devotionals. I think it would also be a great gift for a friend or family member.

Dit boek is echt mooi, gaat dieper in op het gebedsleven, en hoe fijn het is als je een open eerlijk leven kunt leiden. Je mag alles bij God brengen. Makkelijk te lezen boek ook al is het in het Engels. Een aanrader.

This book was an invitation to me. It came to me in a time of tremendous loss and pain. It has helped me refocus my thoughts and I feel like it has strengthened my ability to connect with God.

This is a book that I will also buy in paper copy and give as gifts to family and friends who I know are also struggling to find peace in their lives.

Thank you Hope, for helping me to refocus on what's important to me and how to accomplish it.

Life as a Prayer

Devotions to Inspire, Invitations to Be Still

Pub Date 01 Apr 2017

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of Life As A Prayer through the publisher and Netgalley:

We are reminded in this book life is prayer, all of life.

Every instance can be an invitation to experience God at a deeper level.

Your life should become your prayer. We are reminded that our life can be a testament to our Faith, to God’s love.

Our life can become a prayer for Healing and Hope.

Life As A Prayer would be a great addition to your Christian Library.

I give it five out of five stars.

Happy Reading

We were attracted to this second-time published piece simply because of the title. Prayer just happens to coincide with current studies (second year, graduate school - Theology). In fact, earlier today we were reading about all of the different types of prayers and there are plenty.

The title of the book is just perfect is the breath prayer was the first of our topics to read today. This is the basic prayer and its intention is taking your heart to God, with a focus on simplicity. Perfect beginning!

Lyda goes into the gifts from God, as they pertain to our prayer life.

Life as a Prayer is well-organized, thoughtful and offers inquiries to make the reader think. This is not simply a list of prayers to mutter, for the sake of praying. No.

Very good book on prayer that you can use in your walk of faith. The formatting of the book is wonderful; heading/title of what the content is about, Life Reflections (questions to answer) and then a prayer. For me, I find having this type of format is wonderful in helping you to retain what you have read and the Life Reflections bring you a chance to reflect on the reading and how it may/has been applied in your life. Wonderful addition to your daily faith walk. I will definitely be purchasing copies for family/friends of this book. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced reading copy in return for my honest review.
