This is the first book I've read in the Rock Harbor Series and it won't be my last! Colleen Coble does an excellent job of giving the new reader just enough back story without being repetitive to the old. With a good plot and great cast of characters, she holds the readers interest until the last page. Coble does a very nice job with the Christian genre as well. She adds just enough as to not be over the top or come across as preachy. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Beneath Copper Falls is the sixth installment from the Rock Harbor series by Colleen Coble. Dana looks to find a new life in Rock Harbor. Her first day working as a dispatcher, she received a disturbing call from her friend, Allyson. Dana sends a deputy to help but it is too late and Allyson is found dead. To Dana's disbelief, the death is ruled an accident. With the help of two friends, Bree and Boone, she investigates further, where all three finds themselves in danger.

I loved Beneath Copper Falls. I instantly felt a connection to Dana from the start. I knew what she was going through and admired her strength to move on to new beginnings. The mystery and suspense of the story continued to keep me from putting the book down. So many twists and turns that made my head spin.

This book is a reminder why I love Colleen Coble books. I would give this book 5+ stars.

I received this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review. This review is my 100% honest opinion.

Colleen Coble is an inspirational author.
I have enjoyed reading the Rock Harbor series.

This book begins with an intense encounter. Thus beginning a great read. I became a part of the town once again. I was reacquainted with old friends and became interested in new ones.
You will be cheering on these characters.

Relationships, they can be amazing and they can be really tough, even dangerous. Within the mystery of Beneath Copper Falls, Coble addresses many facets that may enrich or may complicate relationships. It becomes apparent that having a right view of self, and a right view of God are essential to having healthy, nourishing relationships. Without those views, one may seek fulfillment beyond human capability of providing, one may sacrifice principles and morals in order to earn approval, and one may find oneself in an abusive relationship with no easy avenue of escape.
Finding common elements in the deaths of young brides-to-be, including her cousin, Renee, has led Allyson in search of a serial killer she has come to refer to as the Groom Reaper. A killer who may have ties to the small town of Rock Harbor in the upper peninsula of Michigan, and who may now have Allyson in his crosshairs. Boone, Renee’s brother, is skeptical of Allyson’s theory, but is ready to pay more attention after Dana’s abusive former fiancé follows her to Rock Harbor. More and more he’s ready to pay attention to anything that might involve Dana as he realizes that she is different from the other women he has known, women who saw his scarred face and caused much deeper emotional scarring. As always Coble masterfully provides clues to the killer’s identity and motivation, as well as an ample number of red herrings to keep her readers guessing and reading.
I highly recommend Beneath Copper Falls to mystery and suspense fans. I want to thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I received no monetary compensation.

BENEATH. COPPER. FALLS by Colleen Coble # 6 in the Rock Harbor series. By Thomas Nelson Publishers
A military ball, with her brother. Chris, is when she met Garret. 9 months ago she fell in love with him and now he terrified her
Dana worked as an emergency dispatch working nights. Leaving for upper peninsula in Michigan and working with search and rescue dogs. He found her that night before she could leave. Boone has cabins in the upper peninsula of Michigan taking guests out for a day of salmon fishing. His cousin Allison, come's saying there has been another killing like his sister Renee. Both killed night before wedding, by drowning, to have had honeymoon in Jamaica.. Dana mets Boone, a friend of her brother, former Smoke Jumper, Has scars from being burnt, but why so touchy. Talking with Allison and Bree of what happened to her and what Garret did to her. Has them all wondering the similarities of the killer. Will Garret seek Chris out to find and finish the job on Dana, figuring that's where she would go. Or is there another person as the killer. Dana feels he might but she has friends that care about her, here. A gripping thriller, of someone you think you know and how quickly they changed.
Realizing it's not the outer looks to be concerned about, but what the inner thoughts we portray that counts. Where to go, how to once and for all change the situation, so you could have a life again. Great story for all will enjoy. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This is a great book that you can't put down. So many twist and turns. I love how the author works in characters from her past books like old friends. Suspense and romance all in the same story. Enjoyed it so much

This is such a great story to jump back into the old Rock Harbor books. This is the next book that takes place in the town where Coble introduced us to more than a decade ago. The story follows Dana and her interactions with coming back home to Rock Harbor where she grew up as well as trying to outrun her ex-boyfriend. There are a few girls that have mysteriously murdered in the past few years and no leads on who the man is behind the killings.

Dana pairs up with Boone, a man whose sister was one of the victims, and together they go searching for answers. The story has quite a bit of suspenseful moments, as well as some plot twists. The only thing I would like better is the ending. The end to the story is great and fulfilling, however, the climax happens with just a few pages remaining, so I feel like it is a little bit rushed. It would be nice for a little bit more to the rescue and wrapping up of who did it and why to give the readers a little more closure in the story.

Overall all though, it was a great book - I would definitely recommend as a clean, suspenseful mystery!

Great, suspenseful return to Rock Harbor from Coble!

Given the amount of time between this novel and others in the series, Coble builds in enough character development of all the characters so the reader can easily remember old friends or be introduced to them for the first time.

The novel itself has a great plot--I did figure out who one of the antagonists was about halfway through. But highly enjoyed watching those in the book figure it out!

I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley.

Beneath Copper Falls was an incredible book that was definitely Colleen Coble's style. It grips you from page one and pulls you further and further into the story the more you read.

Dana Newell is in a relationship with an abusive boyfriend. She leaves him and heads to the safety of her friends and her brother in Rock Harbor. She takes a job as a dispatcher there. While she is there, she decides to take some self defense classes with her brother's friend, Boone. Both Boone and Dana have painful pasts that they are still trying to come to terms with. Boone's sister was killed by her fiance. His cousin, Allyson is convinced her death was not accidental. The closer she gets to the investigation, the more frightened she becomes. The more Dana and Boone get to know one another, the more feelings begin to develop between them. With all of the pain and rejection both have suffered, they have lots to overcome to make a go of their relationship.

Dana's ex boyfriend is also making threats to come and take her with him as well. When Dana and Boone become involved in the investigation of the death of Boone's sister, the more the clues point to Dana's ex. When the killer's identity is exposed, it was a surprise for sure. The ending was a huge twist but I loved it.

Beneath Copper Falls is full of action, suspense and romance. A perfect combination.

Beneath Copper Falls is the sixth book in the Rock Harbor series. It was nice to visit with familiar characters again. I believe the Rock Harbor series is my favorite of all of Colleen Coble's romantic suspense series.

The story starts out with Dana Newell moving back to Rock Harbor, the quaint town she grew up in. She moves back home to escape an abusive and controlling boyfriend. She moves in with her adoptive brother Chris. As soon as she moves back one of her friends is murdered. While reading this book I compiled a list of characters in my head at who the murderer could possible be. Was it her ex-boyfriend who is stalking her? Could it be her adoptive brother or could it be Boone the victim's cousin? Or is it the new man that Laurie met in Hawaii?

This book kept me in suspense but I did guess who the murderer was about 75-80 percent in the book. Because I guessed so easily I am going to have to give this book four stars instead of five starts. This book did keep me up until almost midnight. Even though I pretty much guessed who it was I want to see how this evil, evil character was caught.

Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for providing me an e-copy of this book to read and review. Beneath Copper Falls is due to be released on July 10, 2017.

Colleen Coble has proven once again why she is Royalty in a big field of Christian Fiction with her forte of Romantic Suspense.

Beneath Copper Falls is an elegant and respectful look at the dangers of being in an abusive relationship. Particularly when the abuser is psychopathic enough to appear to everyone else but his victim that he’s an outstanding guy deserving of more than being labeled the villain. Unfortunately too often women end up with PTSD and/or other forms of trauma from being kept far too long in these relationships because they either don’t have access or feel like they don’t to an escape route which Coble has exemplified in her story.

Coble’s keen character development and empathy for the human condition comes pouring forth from her dialogue and how she sets up the personalities involved in her story.
If you’ve been a fan of her Rock Harbor series then many of the characters and settings will be familiar as Bree Matthews returns with her trusty search-and-rescue companion.

It’s an excellent book as Coble handled such a difficult issue with grace and respect. It’s also a reminder that people need to listen better and not assume that a great personality mixed with a gorgeous face makes someone automatically innocent – even the Devil has been described as the most beautiful of them all.

Great murder mystery novel! I went into it thinking I am going to figure out the killer right away but I didn't. What twists and turns. Once I started reading it I could not put it down! I highly recommend it.

I’ve requested this book because of the hero’s description and since I like mystery stories I thought it would be a good read.
I loved the setting, with all that cold and snow and plenty of activities (and obstacles) related to those harsh climatic conditions. It’s all so different from my environment and the detailed descriptions of its beauty become so vivid through the author’s knowledge. The landscape is an important part of the plot and Colleen Coble explores that dimension skillfully. Yes, I would love to travel to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula!
I liked the wounded hero, especially in the beginning; the idea of the damaged hero retreating into the wilderness but choosing not to hide or minimize his scars surgically and being an active outdoorsman is quite enticing. I would have liked his healing (with the heroine’s help) to have taken a little longer, but this is just a personal preference.
I also liked the small town feeling and the secondary characters, even if it was a little difficult to keep track of them all (this is book 6 in the Rock Harbor series and my first time reading this author).
The mystery plot had a twist that was interesting although once I thought the heroine’s behavior was a bit dense. I liked how the author handled the villain part, but all those deaths… it was depressing.
All in all, a good read that kept me interested until the end.
