I really enjoyed this book-- the fantasy elements were really absorbing and the romance incredibly sweet. Definite recommend

THIS HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL WHAT EVEN HAPPENED?!

Plot:
So, the story starts off with (oh crap I forgot his name already LOL) I think it's Keiron. And he is this Wind Angel thing who is meant to protect this girl from dying. And his brother is trying to tell him not to go, but he goes anyways and his brother cuts off his wings and he falls down onto the Earth. And then we go into the girls PoV, (whose name I also forgot and I'm too lazy to look it up) and she's this librarian girl. BUT she only has half of her heart so she has a lot of problems with breathing and movement so she works at the desk. And in walks Mr. Mysterious who looks like a bad boy but is everything she has ever wanted. HOMEDUDE and HOMEGIRL then begin to hang out in the library the next day after she meets him and they talk about dating and kissing. AND JUST LIKE WHAT? Y'all just met. But of course, she's pretty and she doesn't believe it, but he does. And he has to tell her how pretty she is and oh wow such love.

BUT this part saved the book. SAVED IT. We go into the PoV of this WindAngel girl who is still in the clouds. And she's meeting with Keirons parents, TURNS OUT, his brother is being charged for murder because he cut his own brothers wings off and sent him down to Earth. THIS was amazingly interesting and I loved seeing the amazing world that was up in the clouds. There's this whole like murder scheme going on in the clouds and it was super cool! THIS SAVED THE BOOK from me not DNF'ing it. Seriously it did, because these Wind Angels are crazy insane and awesome.

The Writing:
Now, the writing was beautiful. I loved it. It moved with such grace and fluidity that this also saved the book from being a 2 star. Honestly, if this didn't have the troupe in it, it might have been a four star because there were some characters who weren't really believable, but anyway the writing. I APPLAUD THE AUTHOR FOR HIS WRITING. It was great! (Not great enough to save this rating tho LOL)

Yeah, so that was pretty much it. If it didn't have that troupe and some really over the top characters then I would loved it. IT HAD A GREAT START but then it all fell down hill. If you like that troupe then go ahead and read it, whatever, but YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I'd give this 3.5 stars. This is my first book about angels. At the start, I felt like I was less interested in the House Windhook parts than the Livvy parts but as the story progressed it became all the way around. Chapters with Livvy became a little bit repetitive and there were many topics that I thought weren't explored enough. Therefore, I didn't really like the ending and the way it was handled, but I have to say the story was enjoyable. The way the world of angels was handled was great and I definitely want to read more about it.

I feel bad, because I feel like most of this book has passed me by and left me wondering just what I just read. Quite a lot of the plot is explained already in the blurb, but much more than that, I find it hard to describe.

Because of this I found it very hard to connect with the story or with any of the characters really, and I think it's save to say that the book was not for me. I didn't really care for Livvy, Keiron or any of the other characters.

I did like the way it was written as it made an easy read.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Wow, talk about a hero who is compelling and endearing. Keiron was seriously the sweetest, most honest, and genuine hero I have ever read about.

Livvy was just as wonderful to read about. She had half of a heart but was one of the strongest main characters I have ever read about.

It was a little crazy going back and forth between realms and getting backstory from Keiron's parents while following their story, but ultimately everything came together.

This was an exciting YA novel.

Keiron is an angel of purity and love. He comes from a world of violence and a corrupt council. The day he was pushed from his home through space and time, he fell into Livvy's life and realized that he had a chance to fulfill his destiny to save the girl with half a heart and help her to fulfill her own destiny.

Livvy has never been normal. From the day she was born, she's lived half a life. With a rare condition causing her to only have half of a heart, she has never really known the joy of living a truly fulfilled life. She goes on adventures through books and when she and Keiron meet, they become more than just friends within the walls of the library Livvy works in.

This YA Fantasy was fantastic. Terry Maggert has written a beautiful story full of wonderful characters and a uniquely beautiful story of love and sacrifice. The plot line feels as if you're looking at two different stories that intertwine. On earth, Livvy and Keiron interact and become more than just friends. In the angel world, Keirons family is trying to deal with a corrupt council that is doing more than their fare share of deception.

The ending was raw and sad and it left me feeling just as sad as the characters in the book. The only real problem that I did have was that Keirons brother Garrik never comes back after the first chapter. His mother, Vasa, is a wonderful and amazing character who I think is my favorite character from the entire novel. She's a smart and strong woman, a fantastic mother, and a brilliant scholar.

This novel took me about a week to finish because I really wanted to take my time and really immerse myself into the story. If you choose to read this, I would highly recommend it. The second book is coming out April 2017, and I will most certainly be getting it. I can't wait to continue on with the story of these now beloved characters.

This was a light and magical tale about finding your true purpose and the place where you belong. A sweet YA fantasy romance that nevertheless manages to avoid excessive sentiment. Not the most rock and roll plot ever with the focus on an internal journey between the characters but still a lovely piece of escapism.

Thank you to Netgalley, Pikko’s House, & the author Terry Maggert for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The cover is pretty and the description seemed up my alley in terms of content. I liked some of the novel but wasn’t really drawn into Keiron’s backstory in what I guess was his life before he fell or Livvy’s circumstance. I just couldn’t get into the book which is a shame because I wanted to like this one.
