This book tells the story of a family as a virus sweeps the world. It is an easy read. I just expected more out of the story.

This is a very intense read as you can imagine. It makes you feel the claustrophobia and terror that this family experiences. Very interesting to read and I am now stock piling food!

This was certainly a thought provoking read. Very quickly I began to put myself in the place of the main female; at times I thought she was over cautious but none of us know how we would react placed in a similar situation. Some of the decisions the family made were difficult when they involved friends and neighbours, but were sensible choices. This book was very 'real' and although traumatic in places, it was hard to put down. Quite a different book from ones I usually read,. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend.

Oh gosh… I don’t know if this happens to everyone but since I got pregnant, anything related with kids is just too much for me. This is NOT a zombie book!

I couldn’t stop reading this book. I have several books in my to-do list that you will like it but this one was just very emotional. You read the book and got you thinking if you would do a little bit more than the Hannah or not… the fact is that probably not.

A fast paced thriller tat will make you think about vulnerabilities and about your family.

This book is an interesting mix between apocalyptic fiction and your standard family relationship contemporary fiction. It doesn't entirely succeed at either but was still an engaging and enjoyable read. I found the character of the mother a bit annoyingly neurotic. The dilemmas placed upon the family due to the epidemic are interesting and thought provoking.

They say to never judge a book by it's cover. In this case that phrase is key. Don't think this is a sweet little romantic family sage. It is much more.
It was one of those books that you can't help but devour in as few sittings as possible.. An eerie and unsettling story at times but also a touching and comforting read.
A really interesting and exciting story that was done to perfection. Hickie is a writer to watch.

Ahhh. Just a fantastic book. I read the summary and was then desperate to read the book, hoping it would be good and it was better than I hoped! The pacing and story were tremendous. I am such a fan of the "what would you do..." type stories when characters feel desperation coming on. Fantastic book and can't wait to read more from this author in the future!
