Honestly? More plot than expected with this title/cover and I'm not upset about it. I do think the relationship started pretty quickly, but I liked these two together and appreciated the dual POVs. Plus? Hot.

Romance, Erotica

Where to start with this one? I was so annoyed with the main character for starters. I don't mind the daddy dom plot line, the problem I had with it was that the way she was acting kept taking me out of it and I never had the feeling that there was a real romance going on between the main characters. I did really like the writing style so I would like to pick up something else written by Brianna to see if one of her other plot lines resonates with me a little better.

Throwing tantrums may be childish behavior, but it's the only way Adrienne Westley feels she can be heard. In the middle of a tabloid scandal, her father cares more about his career than the threats to his mouthy daughter. So when bodyguard Dieter Vanderbroeck enters her home, she's shocked by his dominant presence. Try as she might to defy him, Dieter doesn't give in to her bratty attitude. Instead, he challenges it with a commanding voice and a firm hand. His authoritative tone calls to a part of Adrienne that she's long kept hidden—and as Dieter begins to unravel her submissive nature, it becomes harder and harder to keep things professional. Adrienne's about to find out just where bratty little girls go: over Daddy's knee. Because he no longer wants to be just her bodyguard—he wants to be her Daddy Dom.
This book is exactly what it sets out to be: a quick read to appease those with “Daddy Dominance” fetishes. Those kinds of books are hit and miss with me and this was somewhere in the middle. Ithink my problem was Adrienne. I really didn’t like her that much. The “Brat” role was a bit overdrive for. Still, not a bad read and I’ll probably read more from this author.

Sadly this was a DNF for me. I know there are readers out there who will love it. I just could not click with the writing and characters.

***4 ‘Yes, Daddy’ Stars***

I enjoyed Little Dancer and when I saw that Princess Brat was going to delve back into the Daddy Dom/Little relationship I didn’t hesitate to grab it and see how this relationship would evolve and I must say I was just as fascinated by how it all evolved as as I was with Little Dancer. But what I enjoyed the most was how different the tone of this one was and though there was the issue with Adrienne’s father and the crazy fall out from that, it was a very character driven story that delved quite a bit into what a Dom/sub relationship is.

Even though Adrienne was a brat, I quite liked her. She is a product of her environment, so her acting out wasn’t that much of a surprise or shock. She handled, or didn’t handle, things in the only way she knew, even when she knew she wouldn’t get the result she wanted. What I liked about her was how she ended up processing her emotions, and all that was going on around her, and actually evolved throughout the story. I liked Dieter, and when he went into Dom/Daddy mode he was pretty d^mn hot, but outside of that I didn’t get that gut punch when it came to him. I think his appeal was more about how he helped to guide and settle Adrienne than him as himself. I know that’s wonky but that’s the only way I can think to explain it. He by himself was alright, but he and Adrienne together made him more.

Their relationship and how it evolved fascinated me. I don’t know if I felt a deep connection between them, but I saw how they both had what the other needed and were more than willing to give it to the other. Adrienne needed the comfort and security of a “Daddy” and Dieter needed someone to care for. I really liked how the Daddy/Little relationship was explained and that it was explained. What the purpose of it was for both of them. How it helped them deal with their emotions and grow. The sex that does occur was hot, but also on the light side of things in comparison to Little Dancer. Overall though I found their journey intriguing and liked where they were at in the end.

While the romance didn’t really move me, I really liked watching how the Daddy/Little relationship between them evolve and how it’s significance to each of them was explained. That insight was what captivated me. If you’re even slightly curious about the lifestyle and don’t mind a bit of spanking, then I’d say give this one a go.

Not bad, but not a great showing. Not as impressive.

This is the first book I have ever read by Brianna Hale and happy to say it will not be the last. It took me a bit to warm up to her writing since I am an American and there are British terms I did not understand. However, once I caught on it all came together beautifully.

Adrienne was a hard character to like, but she does grow on you. She is exactly as the title claims; a princess brat. Dieter is dark and protective and oh so sexy. I kept wanting him to grab Adrienne and teach her a lesson sooner rather than later. Brianna Hale did a great job pulling the story together and having you realize where the issues Adrienne faces seem to stem from.

This is a short story and worth the read. I give it 4 glowing stars from Reviews by Reds.

This book is not for everyone. If you like to read about daddy kink, you will probably love it!

The story line was different, you need to be into reading about "Daddy kink" to really appreciate it i think. It really isn't my thing so I struggled reading it. There were no major twists in the plot but it moved smoothly, and is well written. I gave it a 3 star, mostly because i couldn't get into the book, i believe it could be a 5 star for those who read "Daddy Kink".

Adrienne is used to getting her way by throwing a toddler temper tantrum. However, when her father hires Dieter to guard her because there have been threats against him and his family, Adrienne is not okay with it. She wants to go to school, draw, come home and be at peace. However, she hasn't been at peace in a while. She is kind of dark and twisty because she is constantly searching for something.

Dieter isn't too keen on watching this spoiled girl. He knows that she doesn't want him around and she's not above pouting and throwing a tantrum to get her way. When she starts to challenge him in ways that show him that maybe there is a hidden submissive in her, he knows how he'll get through to her.

I felt that the relationship was somewhat disjointed – they were attracted, then went cold again, and the cycle would continue. I get where the author was trying to go, but don't necessarily believe that it was very successful.

I'm not normally a "daddy Dom" person – I find that to be somewhat strange, but this book did an okay job without making it all about her parental issues. Overall, this was a quick read.

Review:

Another enjoyable, titillating read.

In this stand alone story the main characters are Adrienne, who is spoiled but that is really all a front to protect herself from hurt and Dieter the alpha, older bodyguard hired to protect her. It was interesting to read the romance an relationship build between these two. It was a quick read because of the shorter format and I got sucked into the story from the beginning. It is told from both Adrienne's and Dieter's points of view so we get a little more insight into them. Can't not, not bring up the sexiness. There is the older man/younger woman and DDlg both are done well and have a lot of emotion wrapped up in within them. There is also a little mystery and action to round out the story.

I read this Author's other book, Little Dancer and think she is getting better and better with each story. I see that there is another story coming and cannot wait to read that one too.

4Stars

This story was a surprise for me because as a Daddy Dom/little girl story, I expected it to be driven by sex. And while an erotic romance driven by sex is never a bad thing, it was a pleasant change to see this one more character driven, exploring what was behind the couples need for the role playing and why it worked so well.

Adrienne was an interesting character. There’s no other way to describe her than as a spoiled brat. She was more childish than childlike and her only way to express displeasure was to throw a tantrum or pout. I expected to hate her, and for her character to be one big eye-roll for me, but she wasn’t as one dimensional as she could have been. There was more behind her behavior and Dieter took the time to find out why.

As her bodyguard, Dieter slipped into the Dom role very easily. As the man in charge of protecting Adrienne and shadowing her every move, it was not a stretch to throw these two together and allow him insight into Adrienne’s life and the things that happened to make her to encourage her childlike behavior. He was strong and patient and I just really liked him. They were good for one another and their roles in their relationship helped each one of them grow as a person.

I really do enjoy reading Daddy Dom books, but to me there is a fine line between making the scenario hot and making the situation creepy. I enjoy it when the little can be all pouty and “Daddy, please” in the bedroom, but outside of it still be a grown-up that just enjoys the care and attention that comes with the Daddy Dom. Likewise, I enjoy the Dom that likes to be the caring Daddy, but isn’t truly looking for a child; instead he wants someone he can care for and coddle. What I found interesting is how this author managed to make Adrienne childlike without straying into the cringe-inducing category. Adrienne loved to color and draw. She loved pink princesses and fairies. But she was also an artist, so her passion for art and color and fey creatures was more artistic than childish. She may have been doodling, but it was pictures of her as Salome and Dieter as John the Baptist. There was intelligence behind the childlike façade which really allowed me to enjoy the DD/lg roles.

I will acknowledge that this subject may not be for everyone, but I thought that it was well written and sweet and an unexpected taboo treat.

This book is really good! I So enjoyed this book!!! Dieter is HOT!!

Adrienne is the daughter of the editor of the Herald the newspaper that caused a girl to commit suicide. Everyone hates her. So her father hires her a bodyguard! At first she hates him. She doesn't want someone following her around. She trys to make him quiet but the harder she trys the more he pushes back and the more she starts to want him to stay. She can see that he cares for her and she starts to see him as more than a bodyguard more like a Daddy! She needs to be heard and Dieter is the only one willing to listen.

Dieter is an ex military man turned bodyguard. He is hired to protect Adrienne and no matter how much of a pain she is and no matter how much she trys to get him to quite he will stay. He sees that she is so much more than the spoiled brat everyone else sees. She is hurting and he wants to protect her in a more unprofessional way. He wants her!! So he takes her! He's her daddy now and he will protect her always.

This book was so good!! I loved that Adrienne needed someone and Dieter is there for her! Its Hot! Daddy, BDSM kink.

PRINCESS BRAT is the first book I've read by Brianna Hale, so i'm not familiar with her usual wriing style. I was quite impressed with this story. From the blurb and summary I was expecting a smutty read with not much storyline. There was some hot love scenes but not as many as I expected Dieter is hired by Adrienne's father to protect her when they both start to receive death threats. At first Adrienne is totally against this and feels she does not need a bodyguard. Her bratty attitude stirs something up inside Dieter and his dominance starts to come out.Adrienne in turn develops feelings for Dieter that go far beyond was is suitable. Join Dieter and Adrienne on their journey of self discovery.

Princess Brat was a pretty cool light hearted bdsm. I enjoyed the Daddy-Little romance that went on. The family issues also made this a great read for me.

Adrienne was a quirky college art student who was a major. She screamed, yelled and ranted for attention. She seemed too dramatic for me, but as the story progressed I learned more about her and saw that she had a sweet side to her. She was a pretty good brat in my opinion.

Dieter was freaking amazing. He used to work in the military and now works as a personal security officer hired by Adrienne's dad to protect her. He was hot, smart, perspective and just knew how to keep calm in crazy situations.

The romance between them definitely was good. It wasn't instalove, it grew from work to play. I loved seeing them grow feelings for one another and battling with it. The whole Daddy Dom - Little Sub was beautiful. It wasn't over the top. The sex scenes were downright awesome though.

Adrienne's family was pretty insane. Her dad was plain stupid and her mother was selfish. I pitied her parents for not seeing her for who she really was.

Great read.

Wasn't this one a little bit of fun, with just enough great BDSM representation to make up for the amusingly thin tabloid scandal plot line.

Adrienne Westley is a spoilt brat whose father's fame puts her in the spotlight where she really doesn't know better than to say stupid things. When one particular thing said after a person's suicide gets her into hot water, Dieter Vanderbroeck is called on to be her bodyguard.

I actually don't think I know how to say or think the word 'bodyguard' without thinking of the romance trope that the Whitney Houston movie made popular, but that is an incredibly accurate representation of this book. Adrienne still wants to go about her usual life, uninterrupted by her now constant companion.

The only difference is that Dieter is someone who has a bit of a daddy kink. Up until recently, he's been able to keep this craving sated through shallow relationships and sex and the occasional Skype call, but he's drawn to Adrienne in a way he hasn't been to someone he's worked for in the past.

But I mentioned good representation of BDSM culture. And there is. Consent is a must, and comes up often throughout this novel. Dieter is constantly checking in with her, and with himself, making sure that she understands what he's offering before he gives it to her. Doms are often depicted as controlling assholes and the author manages to steer clear of that completely through a combination of scenes written in his PoV, his determination and actions that show that he does not intend to be her only emotional support, and the caring way he continues to make sure that her insulin is not something she neglects. I am not a diabetes sufferer myself, but it seemed like pretty good representation from that end.

Of course, this doesn't mean that neither one of them make mistakes. Without those, there would be no plot.

This was a quick and enjoyable read, the first I've had from this author.

I am blown away. I don't know what I expected, but I do know that whatever expectations I had were exceeded. It's easy to go in to a book like this expecting it to be salacious and gratuitous but it was anything but. There was such a depth of emotion and a careful addressing of the psychology and feelings behind a Daddy/Little Girl relationship. I can honestly say that I finished the last page feeling more edified, understanding, and sympathetic than I did in the beginning and to me that is a true marker of a good book. Plus the sex was hot!

Not my type of book. I never realised it was a bondage type of book. Definitely not for me but others may enjoy it.
