As soon as I learned that Lurlene had five brothers in Zeke, I wanted them to have their own series and I was so excited when I heard that we were actually going to get stories for the Kane brothers! I couldn’t wait to start on Token, but with me being me, I waited forever to read it and I started it a few times and then I’d stop, it was just a vicious cycle. I finally burned down the hatchets though and got to it because I need to read Steele and things did not go as expected, but in the end, I did fall in love with the story and I am so excited for Steele!

Token was kind of rough for me, though, because I really wanted to love it, but for most of this book, I wasn’t feeling it. My heart wasn’t in it and I just couldn’t connect to the story or the characters. I didn’t hate it or anything like that, but I didn’t particularly enjoy it either, I was mostly going through the motions. It wasn’t until pretty much the end of the book that Ms. Gendron just socked me right in the heart and pulled all my emotions out. She brought tears to my eyes and touched my heart. I completely fell in love with Token and it really made everything worth it. Now, I’m going after Steele and I can’t wait!

Token is the first novel in the Daring the Kane Brothers Series. The story was well written and entertaining. Told in dual pov. I liked the interaction this family has with eachother. This is the first book of Kelly Gendron I've read and I gotta say I like her writing style. I'm looking forward to reading more of this family.

I received this book from Netgalley

This unfortunately was a dnf for me at 21%. I apologize as India not really feel a connection between our hero and heroine.

As always, thank you for the opportunity.

I've read Kelly Gendron's series before but I found this one difficult to read. It was very stop and go for me and I struggled to get in a reading rhythm. I didn't connect with either the Hero or Heroine and found myself fast forwarding too often.

Oh wow I loved this book. I was looking forward to it after reading the Declan Brothers series. I really liked the authors style. This book was so much better than the Declan series. I loved everything about it. I flew through the pages.

We start meeting Token (which we met briefly in the Declan series) he is sent to track Harley down. Harley is a mess she has been through a lot of pain in her life. As Token works to break down her barrier more get revealed through the story. I love when two characters meet and there is so much more that connects them.

The only thing I that was missing was the situation with Harley's dad and brother, we never really found out what happened. It is referenced through out the book but was never revealed. And the ending!! OMG, seriously I have to wait to find out what happened! I will be jumping on the next book once it comes out!

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book.

I really liked this book. I loved the heartache, the joy, and the romance. I liked that it wasn't a cookie cutter romance where everyone is perfect and no one has drama or skeletons in their closet. Both Harley and Token were both great characters, I really can not wait to see what is next. I mean literally...the next Kane brothers novel looks like it is going to be great as well.

***4,5 "Hot Mess!!!" stars***

I have already read "Breaking the Declan Brothers" series by Mrs. Gendron and i loved all three books very much!!! And now, came Kane brothers's turn and I'm so excited for this!!!
We've already seen Token as a guest in Zeke's book and I couldn't wait to find out his own story and the stories of his other four brothers!!!! And I'm sure that they will be a hell of rides!!!!
But enough with that, I have to focus on Token... and his Harley!!!!

Token was a retired boxer who had his own hard road to his life.... and who was working for a controversial guy... His latest assignment is to bring back in California a woman named Harley!!!
A woman who is making him feel strange from the first moment, even though that she is self destructive and in so much mental pain...

Every year around this time, Harley is trying to numb the pain with much alchool and reckless behavior.... The last thing he needs is a man to kidnap her and return her back to the place that she was running from... Especially, a man like Token whom making her well built walls around her heart to tremble dangerously...

Will Token manage to save Harley from her inner demons???
Will Harley allow to Token to come closer???
Is there a chance for the two of them or something hidden can destroy everything between them???

I really liked both Token and Harley....
Token was a strong, but very sweet man... He had so much understanding and he could do anything for the people he was caring for...
Harley had live a tragedy and she couldn't get over it!!! She was fighting any kind of connection with everyone, but Token was determined to change that and Harley was helpless in front of him...
Their relationship had good foundations and the connection between them was very powerful!!!

I really liked the first book of this series and i can't wait for the rest of the Kane brothers.... Each one of them is very intriguing character....
I also loved very much the parents...
Of course, i liked very much that we saw for once again Lurlene and Zeke!!!

I love messy characters. If you do too, you’ll likely love this one because it’s full of them! Or you could hate it. Who am I to say?

Harley is our heroine and she is a drunken mess. Every year she grieves the anniversary of the death of her family by escaping for a week to drink away the pain and to sleep with a stranger or two before putting it behind her for another year. But this year will end differently . . .

Token (yep, that’s really his name) has been paid $10,000 to find her and find her does. When she wakes up in a hotel room that isn’t hers, hung over, sick and with a man who insists on bringing her sorry ass back home to her uncle, she isn’t having any of it. She only wants to be left alone but Token has other ideas. Thus begins the volatile, super steamy and surprisingly sweet love affair between Harley and Token.

Both of these characters have pasts that haunt them which adds just enough angst to keep up the conflict. As much as Token would like her to open up and face her demons, he doesn’t treat her like a project that needs fixing and pretty much accepts her for the mess she is and gives her time and that’s why they worked.

He’s different. When he looks at me it’s as if he sees the train-wreck and all the leftover debris spread around me but he doesn’t appear to want to save me from the crash that I’ve found my life in. Instead, he stands and patiently waits like he’s waiting for me to pull myself up from all the rubble and brush myself off. That’s what I feel when he stares at me. When his dark green eyes lay quietly upon my body. I don’t get the sense he wants to fix me but I also don’t get the feeling that he’ll leave me either. It’s strange. I don’t know the man. Still, I feel closer to him than anyone in my life right now but really, that’s not saying much.

He also has amazing powers of restraint.

“The past two days you’ve thrown your body at me, teased me, and tempted me.” His thumb runs across my chin. “Do you know why I resist you?” Gazing into his sincere eyes, I swallow hard unable to respond, afraid of his answer. “When I touch you, I wanna be sure you’re gonna fuckin’ feel it.”

Awww, if that isn’t romance, I don’t know what is!

Token comes from a very large, loud, loving and close-knit family so it looks like there’s room for many a sequel. I’ll follow along for now because the characters and writing intrigued me NOT because there was a cliff-hanger attached to the very end (arghh). Fortunately there was closure with Token and Harley’s story or I’d be a bit steamed right now. Cliff-hangers and I do not get along.

I really enjoyed this read. I found myself wanting to get back to it whenever I had to put it down which is kind of a rarity for me so if you like steam, angst and some heart-melting moments and can deal with imperfect people, you’ll probably like it too. If not, don’t blame me!

I received an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley. Hope they don’t regret it!

Token is a great start to the Daring the Kane Brothers series. I found the dynamic between the characters and the storyline quite enjoyable and look forward to reading more by this author.

Gendron reaffirms with Token why the Romance genre exists! The characters are delicious, the plot is ambitious, the writing is steamy and heartfelt. I cannot wait for more Kane Brothers stories.

Token is assigned the task of picking up and delivering Harley. She’s one tough cookie but she’s been hurt from the loss of her family and protects herself with her tough girl act. Token is calm and patient but determined to deliver her to her uncle. Keeping her purse, phone and car as hostage to ensure that outcome, Harley is forced to follow his lead.

This was a nice read with a fast pace. No real over the top behaviors and yet they both definitely start to fall from the very beginning. Although it has plenty of hot action and not a lot of angst, I felt it could have been fleshed out a little more to make an entertaining read into a great read. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it tremendously.

I will definitely be watching for the next book in this series to be released.

This is a spinoff from the Declan brothers which was another good series by this author. The story may be a quick read but the author buts alot of emotion in the story. It could have been a depressing tale, but the author knew how to level things out. There is some humor lift it up. to we get the pleasure of meeting Token again. He and Harley meet under strange circumstances. He was hired to find her and bring her to California. When they meet sparks fly but he knows he has to wait for Harley. she is going through a rough patch and her thinking and behavior are dangerous. But by waiting, he knows he will get more than just a night with her. Harley has been running and living dangerously for the past 10 years. Things come to a head when she meets Token. They must battle through personal demons to get to their hea. I loved Token, he is a great hero. He is strong, protective and knows what he wants. harley really does not stand a chance. She gave a good fight. I am really looking forward to the next brother. they all have stories that need to be told.

This was quite an emotional story - but well written and had great characters!

We meet Harley Redbourne when she is at her worst...the anniversary of the death of her family. She's found a bar away from her home and is drinking herself into oblivion trying to escape her pain.

Token Kane - ex-boxer who works at a gym, is sent by his employer to retrieve Harley. Token doesn't understand what his boss sees in a young woman who drinks too much, is strong willed and conniving. But when Token looks closer, he sees something else. He sees a woman in extreme emotional pain.

Even through the haze of alcohol and grief, Harley feels a connection with Token. There is attraction both ways, but Token wants to help Harley, not just be a diversion for her.

A lot of this story is about Harley healing emotionally - at least to the point that she can move forward instead of being caught in an endless spiral. Watching how Token treats her, the way he is so in tune with her feelings, the way he opens up sharing his own emotional pain with her - it makes this a beautiful yet sad love story. It will draw you in and keep you reading - don't skip this one!

I know I'm going against the tide here, but I gave up at the 30% mark. Neither main character was working for me, especially the heroine. She seemed to be stuck in a destructive cycle of a yearly pity party and was way too melodramatic for me. This is my least favorite type of heroine and I saw no reason to continue on.

Going in I wasn't sure what to expect but being honest I'm pleasantly surprised.

Token is your typical bad boy demanding alpha with some pretty fucked up demons. I must admit he was my favourite in this story. The tough outer layer soon melted away leaving you with this sweet caring loving man with so much heart. I felt I really knew him, could feel his pain through the pages. I connected to his character 100%. His demons affected him but he didn't let it ruin his life or become a asshole because of them which is a pleasant change to most books.

Harley was a different story. I did enjoy her character and she generally is my most favourable type of female lead. The strong sassy feisty opinionated verity. She was sweet and broken under the wall she built up around herself and it had me really feeling for what she's endured at such a young age. However I didn't connect to her like I did Token. I just felt there wasn't enough about how she felt, her pain her in general. I don't know I guess I just felt like you get more about Token that you do Harley.

I enjoyed the pace of the story and the way it was set out. Nothing was crazy rushed and super predictable which is a nice surprise. The story is seemless and definitely has you sucked in to unraveling what happened. It does touch on some dark subjects and definitely gives you the feels however I'd say this is more of a healing story.. there isn't all that much drama happening just mostly all about their pasts. The trauma was very well written is such a way that although you feel the pain it's not thrown in your face.
The chemistry between the pair is definitely palpable and very believable. The side characters play key parts in the story making it unpredictable and more enjoyable and can I just say I want Bronx's story!! That man has me all kind of curious.
It's a really good story with great characters. I enjoyed it a lot my only complaint is I wanted to know more about Harley.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I have read the Declan brothers series and I loved them. I figured that they would bring these brothers into the mix that I would see this book. I like Token he is soft and hard at the same time. Harley is strong, but doesn't know it. She has a hard time trusting people. I liked it and will read this next series. Another hot group of strong alpha males!

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you!

I DNF this one at 30%. I wasn't connecting enough with the characters to keep reading. I would definitely recommend anyone that enjoys badboy and motorcycle romances to give this one a try. Looks like the start of a pretty lengthy and intriguing series.
