Intriguing tale of survival versus morality.

Unlike other apocalypse stories, this one doesn't portray civilization immediately buckling under to savagery. It portrays, time and again, the struggle to cross moral lines for the sake of survival.

I loved how the MC chose which lines to cross and then moved on without the typical angst and doubt. A fresh, British take on the American survivalist trope.

I'm afraid this was a DNF for me. I'm a major fan of dystopia, TEOTWAKI, pre-and-post-apocalyptic fiction, but I found myself bored by the excessive military talk and the skipping-over of action scenes for more talk.
