A life affirming journey of heartache and hope, J.B. Salsbury delivers a perfectly poignant and simply unforgettable story that left my heart utterly Wrecked. This novel was absolutely everything I’ve come to love about this author and so much more. Aden and Sawyer instantly stole my heart, enchanting me completely from their adorably awkward first meeting until the very last page. I loved the unquestionable connection between the characters, transfixed by their obvious and sizzling chemistry and wholly intrigued by their personal histories and the challenges they would surely face together. Aden and Sawyer’s journey did not disappoint, serving up plenty of genuine emotion, fantastically addictive banter and seriously scorching encounters. J.B. Salsbury is at her absolute best with Wrecked!

I connected with Sawyer on an incredibly personal level, easily finding so many of my own emotions echoed throughout this character. While her journey was decidedly unconventional, the grief she carried and the emotional rollercoaster she experienced over the course of this novel were undeniably authentic. I adored how vulnerable Sawyer was, finding a sense of peace and renewed strength in the sincerity of her struggle. This story definitely carried its share of weight, but each of our heroine’s triumphs lightened the load on my soul a little bit more. J.B. Salsbury did an incredible job developing this character, utilizing the relationship between Sawyer and Aden to push her outside her comfort zone and force her to live life in new and thrilling ways. The overall growth of this character was nothing short of breathtaking and by the time all was said and done Sawyer had effectively stolen my heart.

Broken, scarred and unmistakably altered by tragedy, Aden is everything a hero should be and then some. J.B. Salsbury didn’t pull any punches when it came to this character, serving up an angry, resentful and self-destructive man that was hard to love at times. However, beneath the pain and unimaginable loss was someone loyal and capable of caring deeply – hints of the kind of hero that leaves readers swooning. As the book progressed, Aden’s personal transformation was more subtle than Sawyer’s, evident in the memories he shared with her and the moments in which he allowed her to truly see him. With their relationship, J.B. Salsbury paved the way for the kind of gradual development that makes the reader feel like they’re growing alongside the character. I felt Aden’s fears and shared in his healing, allowing him to take root and fill my heart with his story.

Wrecked is one of those novels that leaves its mark, branding you in unexpected and deeply significant ways and altering your view of the world irrevocably. J.B. Salsbury touched upon incredibly harsh realities, detailing the struggles of PTSD and terminal illness with the kind of exceptionally rare insight that allows the reader to experience it for themselves. The emotions were raw and unapologetically real, leaving me no choice but to feel Aden and Sawyer’s pain as my own. J.B. Salsbury expertly balanced all of the heartache and angst with a breathtaking lightness and obvious joy for life that ran throughout the novel, giving this story plenty of levity and an overall hopeful nature that absolutely captivated me. Perfectly paced and exquisitely written, this book was meant to be devoured. J.B. Salsbury once again proved herself to be an instant one-click for me. Painted with vibrant imagery and overflowing with gut-wrenching emotions, Wrecked is a brilliant must-read story of loss, love and life.

Once again J.B. Salsbury has rocked my world with her newest novel Wrecked. I was positively hooked from the very beginning of this emotional, raw, romantic masterpiece!

Aden Colt may have left the Army but the Army hasn’t left him. In this tiny town off the coast, he’s known as the man with a temper, the guy who is off his rocker AKA Sergeant Psycho. He just wants to live a quiet life on his boat. The sun, saltwater and isolation is where Aden finds his peace. To Aden this is what he deserves, so he keeps himself closed off from everyone, right where he believes he belongs.

Sawyer ends up in town because of her dying sister’s request. Her twin sister wants Sawyer to go to California and pack up her life. Basically live as her so no one is the wiser of what is really going on with Cecilia. She wants to be remembered as the girl who lived and not the one who is dying, so Sawyer sets off to do what her sister wants, but little did she realize she was going to end up with so much more than some packing. Turns out it’s an adventure of a lifetime. She didn’t expect it, didn’t see it coming. Wasn’t looking for it, but there he was, Aden Colt.

But what happens when things get messy? Secrets, lies and new love don’t really mix well together. But the heart wants what it wants right? This story was a beautiful emotional journey. Learning to let go, find forgiveness, trust what feels right, taking the leap to follow the heart and learn how to truly love and be loved. I laughed, I cried and swooned at this epic tale that I devoured in one night. As I furiously flipped pages that felt like I was peeling back layers of Aden Colt, so many delicious layers to both him and Sawyer. The secondary characters held my heart too especially Jenks and Cecilia! I just loved every little thing about this story. Get WRECKED, you won’t be sorry!

Wrecked is definitely a 5* read for me.

This book is so wonderful. This story is not your typical love story, but unique and beautiful. It is easy to hurt with both the main characters, falling into their pain as you read about the way they suffer, and I'm a sucker for good suffering. Talk about all the feels! There was angst, anger ... (or rage lol), fear, excitement, and all the love!!!! Because they have both dealt with some real messed up stuff, they are both dealing with their demons all while trying to deal with the present and each other. JB Salsbury is so good at writing! I swear she really goes into their issues/problems and makes you get lost  along with the characters, you're struggling with them, and I think that's amazing. I'm not a big fan of epilogues, I feel like they always come in a huge wrapped box with a cute puppy inside, but this one was great. It really fit perfectly into the story over all and didn't make it cheesy or unbelievable. I highly recommend it, it's definitely not one to miss.

I received a copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

I can't believe I almost passed this book over.

At first glance, WRECKED would not be the kind of book I'm immediately drawn to. The hero, Aden, is ex-military with memories that still haunt him. This is where I would think this book isn't for me - I don't read military books. There's too much heartache, too much emotion, too much of pain that I can't handle. But I didn't want to dismiss a book out of fear or assumptions. I know I miss out on a ton of great books because for this reason. I needed to take a chance. Plus, I haven't read any of JB Salsbury's books and I wanted to read a book by a new-to-me author.

WRECKED did stir up my emotions. The story was painful and there was heartache and secrets, but there was also hope and possibility and healing. Aden and Sawyer have their pasts and their fears - and as they tried to get lost in each other and make each other forget - they became something more. Aden pushed Sawyer to be adventurous. Sawyer gave Aden someone who could give him comfort and peace.

What I liked:

*How much this book surprised me. It's not at all what I thought it was going to be.
*The kisses! JB writes some smoking hot kissing scenes. Seriously, Aden and Sawyer didn't have to take it any further (even though they did 😜)- because the kisses were epic.
*How I could completely relate to Sawyer's fear of sharks - THOSE TEETH!
*The humor - Sawyer was a little bit awkward and Aden was straight forward at it was endearing.
*It is set in San Diego! I love San Diego and have been to Sunset Cliffs and I liked connecting with the book this way.

Favorite Quote:
"Because life is beautiful and terrifying," she whispers. "And we deserve to feel it down to our bones."

WRECKED is a beautiful story about two people finding each other and living a life they didn't imagine for themselves. Aden and Sawyer found their way into each other's hearts and this story found its way into mine. I loved it!

Shel: Have you ever read a book whose character makes a really poor choice early on and you just know that things aren't going to go well for this character? Well, without spoiling things, let me tell you that Sawyer (our heroine) makes a choice, from a place of love, and that choice was the cause of my angst and face palming during many scenes. There was a lot of nononononooooo and shaking my head. And then when her choice was taken to a certain point, all I could do was brace myself for the fall out that would come. I will say, to Sawyer's credit, that she struggled with all the responsibility that came with the choices she made and while I hated her struggle, it made her sympathetic. I definitely couldn't do what she did and do it successfully...at least I don't think I could. Love makes us do strange things sometimes. Court: I could see why she was so committed to her path and was sympathetic to her plight as well. The story line was fascinating, and kept me right in there up until the wee hours of the night. I couldn't put it down. Secondary characters like her sister, and her parents and Jenkins really made this novel a fun time, I laughed...and yet I cried. And angsted. And wanted to just smack all of them at the same time. And we loved that. Lol!

Shel: Aden, Sawyer's love interest, also made a choice that devastated him and it's one that impacted his daily existence. All I could think about was how awful it must be to feel all the things he did and not have (or feel like he had) adequate ways to cope and live with what he carried in his memory and in his heart. My heart was heavy for him and so when he saw Sawyer as a way to alleviate some of his burden, even if I knew it probably wasn't the healthiest option, I wanted that for him so badly. I wanted both of them to have the respite they found in each other--but the struggle to get that was huge. Court: Ugh. He is complex isn't he! He's a enjoyable character as well. He is funny, and kind and beautiful in my mind...but he is heavily flawed so therein lies our plot struggles. These two are really dealt heavy things and finding their way together is going to be a challenge. I loved the setting and as always JB Salsbury's writing really makes my life complete because it is SO good! She makes great characters with well researched problems, their struggles and story make them feel like my friends and I just want to help them with their problems but they just won't listen!

Shel: That struggle, though, is what makes the ending so extra special. The feeling of happiness and warmth that exuded from the pages of the epilogue were like a balm; it's one of my favorite epilogues I've read in a while. Wrecked may have the potential to wreck you, but the ending will leave you smiling. Court: I was wrecked for a while, and then put back together because this story is realistic and heartfelt and really just a great addition to your reading life if you decide to pick it up!

We're all a little broken.
We have to heal alone, but we also sometimes need that special person to help us heal.
This story was filled with love, lust, forgiveness, and so many other great life necessities.
So much happens during this enthralling ride of push and pull, I was sad to see it end!

There are little things that I wish were different, but that's the case with tons of books for tons of people.
Just be ready to sweat a little along side these two as they figure out that love conquers all.

Wrecked is the latest from J.B. Salisbury and the first I've since 2016's Split. Like Split, Wrecked will make you feel a sadness at just how unfair life can be. While the story line is punctuated by death, there is a very clear message of redemption and hope, of finding fulfillment in relationships and love. With Aden, it was was edgy and distressful and with Sawyer and her twin Celia, there was an air of sentiment and melancholy.

The premise is built on Sawyer going from the family home in Arizona to San Diego and pack up Celia's life there. There are reasons Celia can't return to California and that made it an engaging story line. The story line is fast paced with Aden and Sawyer finding themselves quickly drawn to each other. Sawyer and her twin are complete opposites, so she has two challenges, pretend to be Celia, acting on a "what would Celia do" basis, or if she can't make a decision, flip a coin. What's interesting is how she transforms from buttoned up Sawyer, to a good mix of the two. She simply needs to learn to embrace an unscripted life. Aden is damaged by the atrocities of war and is haunted by his failure leading his men. Suffering from PTSD, he moves through life recklessly. Sawyer seems to be the salve he needs to pull himself out of despair.

The writing is solid and I liked the pace of the story. I've come to expect dark and emotional stories from J.B. Salsbury. Wrecked is an emotion filled read, but I didn't find this one as gritty as I expected. Because that expectation was off, it didn't pack the punch for me. But I really enjoyed the two main characters backstories and the uniqueness of the sisters' relationship.

Wrecked begins with a flashback in Aden's POV, three months prior to the present time. Those first few pages will immediately draw you in with a heart pounding scene that helps you to understand the severe PTSD that he's struggling with. While on tour in the Special Forces, his job was to train Iraqi and Kurdish soldiers. After his last mission went horribly wrong, he's left completely shattered and unable to pick up the pieces. Flashbacks and anger consume him, so he prefers to isolate himself to his own brooding company. He lives a simple life managing his uncle Cal's rental property in California, and living on his small houseboat. The string of willing women distract him from his inner turmoil, but it's only a temporary fix, like putting a band-aid on a bullet hole.

Aden was a likable hero, I sympathized with him right from the start and rooted for him to overcome his demons. He had a really great sense of humor that lent some necessary lightness into the story. I went into the book thinking that this would be a darker type of book, but it actually didn't feel that way at all despite the serious topics that were addressed. I was pleasantly surprised by the entertaining dialogue that propelled the plot forward at a fast pace.

My first impression of Sawyer was that she was uptight, filled with anxiety over a variety of things like germs, cleanliness, and organization. She pushed her fears deep down, and boxed them up, cushioning them with order and predictability. These things made sense, made her feel safe after her grandmother passed away and she spent years taking the blame on herself.

Sawyer's identical twin sister Celia may be her mirror image on the surface, but they couldn't be more different in every aspect of their personalities. Celia has always been the free spirited and outgoing one, looking at life as one grand adventure ready to be seized.

But after contracting a rare form of cancer, her time is drawing close to an end. She wants to leave knowing that Sawyer will put herself outside of her comfort zone and find the ability to live free and just be.

So she pushes her to go to her apartment in California and walk in her footsteps for a couple of short weeks. To pack her things of for her, and convince her friends that she IS Celia, just moving on to her next exciting city. So they remember her as the strong and vital woman they all love her as. Playing her part was impossible enough, but learning to let go was her most challenging test of all. What she really needed was to have her tidy little life shaken and turned upside down, and Aden was the one to show her how it's done.

Aden and Sawyer have an immediate disarming attraction, and even when they were butting heads, they still found a way to charm each other. He was hopelessly confused over his mixed feelings and growing attachment for this woman.

She was one big mass of contradictions, a constant surprise to be around, and she made him smile more than he could remember in a long time. But how would she react if she knew how volatile his moods were, and how deep his emotional scars went? How would he feel knowing that the woman he was falling for wasn't everything she seemed?

I loved seeing Sawyer break out of her shell and really embrace all the joys life had to offer. Aden wasn't magically healed, but with her support was able to seek out the help he needed and become a source of inspiration for others. I appreciated the originality of the circumstances of how they met a lot. I do think that two weeks was a narrow amount of time for them to meet and fall head over heels, especially since they weren't open and honest about who they were. That didn't affect my enjoyment very much though, because overall I loved the message and the end leaves you on a satisfyingly high note.

Wrecked is the story of Sawyer who has arrived at her dying twin sisters home to take care of her final wishes. Celia doesn’t want people to know that she is dying and wishes for all the people she leaves to believe she is off on an adventure. So Sawyer is packing up Celia’s life and saying goodbye. The problem is that Sawyer and Celia are extremely different. Sawyer has OCD and is a bit uptight and Celia is a free spirit. This makes it hard to convince people of who she is.

While tying up loose ends she meets Aden. He has left the Army and his struggling with PTSD. Aden is intrigued by Sawyer because she seems so out of place. The more he gets to know her the more he likes her. These two start up a romance even though Aden feels Sawyer isn’t safe around him and she knows she is leaving.

Personally I thought the pretending to be her sister went on way too long concerning Aden. He didn’t really know Celia so there would have been no harm in sharing the secret. It made for some dramatics towards the end of the story so there is that. Aden is also suffering from PTSD but you never see him really get help for it. It is mentioned in the future but as far as the story there really isn’t any growth there. It would have been interesting to see him working on himself throughout the story.

All in all, this was a nice story. To be honest it has many elements I have read before. But if you are a fan of this genre or Ms. Salsbury’s writing you will probably enjoy this.

***5 ‘You’re Branded Inside Me’ Stars***

The description alone lets you know that you are going to be in for an emotional gut punch, but the intensity of it all just surprised me, not that this was a bad thing because of that initial hit mellowed out I couldn’t wait to dive into their journey and what a ride it was. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster of a ride (I actually got teary and sniffly at certain moments) and I swear my heart bled throughout the entire book even as it felt as if a smile was permanently fixed on my face due to all the sweet, fun, heartwarming and smexy moments that kept me turning the pages until the very end.

Sawyer was a mix bag for me, not because I didn’t like her, I actually admired the h#$ out of her, but she did take a bit of time to get used to. One incident changed her entire future and made her fear instead of be fearless, but the funny thing about that is that the woman has a backbone made of titanium. Her strength and honesty coupled with a truly genuine heart made it easy to want to get to know and find out what made her tick.

Aden’s been to h$%l and back and can’t seem to stop punishing himself for all that happened when he was there. Guilt weighs heavily on his shoulders, but his form of dealing is isolating himself as best he can so he can’t hurt those he loves. My heart hurt for the man and though I didn’t agree with his form of dealing, I understood it. He’s shattered and doesn’t want to take anyone else down with him and that knowledge made me love him. Underneath all of the walls he’s thrown up around himself is a good man with an amazing heart.

So the why, way and Aden and Sawyer collide made for a very interesting, enjoyable and yet sitting at the edge of seat, biting my nails while waiting for the other shoe to drop situation. I’d go into it a lot more, but that would spoil the fun for everyone. So what I will say is that I loved how, despite their obvious differences, they were kindred souls who were open enough to recognize each other, even when their brains didn’t, that connection kept them coming back for more time and time again. I enjoyed how they got to know each other and loved how they helped to break the other out of the boxes they’d put themselves in. While I desperately wanted their journey to be smooth sailing because of all the other stuff they were dealing with, it wasn’t, but I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised at how it all got worked out. I thought it was well done and was true to who Aden and Sawyer had evolved into and that epilogue had me smiling and wanting more!

There is a lot going on in this book, PTSD is just one of topics covered and it’s worth saying that there will be some out there that will had a difficult time with some scenes in the book. But I felt that they were handled with a lot of respect and that they were balanced out by the evolution of Aden and Sawyer’s relationship. There was just enough light to keep the darkness at bay while not skimping on the impact the dark had on the characters. The secondary characters were all well written and I loved the depth they brought to the story. I really wish their story didn’t end, but what was done beautifully and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Salsbury has up her sleeve for us next!

This is a story about a romance between two people with issues. He's a veteran of war with PTSD. She has a bit of a social disorder and OCD. He's sort of hiding out from life and managing some property for his uncle. She's agreed to fill in as her wild and fun-loving identical twin sister who's dying of a terminal illness. Meeting in this unexpected way is a respite from life for them both. They have the possibility of love but many problems that must be addressed in order for it to work. If you like damaged characters searching for their HEA, you should check Wrecked out for yourself.

I’ve heard so much about JB Salsbury and have never had the chance to read one of her books until now. When I got the invite to be on her tour, I jumped at the opportunity and let me just say that I am adding all her books to my TBR right now. I went in blind, not really knowing what to expect and boy was I ever hit with a book hangover of the best kind.

I don’t want to tell you too much about the story beyond what you read in the blurb. Just know that this is a story that will leave your heart pounding from the heartache and the joy that can follow. I loved Sawyer and how she gave herself to her sister’s wishes, even though it was so outside the box for her. I loved how she opened herself up to Aden, showing him her fears and her accomplishments. Aden’s story pushed at my heart strings from the start. Having family in the military and knowing the affects of PTSD, I could relate so much to his struggles and journey and feel the fears that Sawyer encountered and Aden’s own fear of hurting the ones that he loves even worse than he already had.

I started this book and could not put it down. I loved Aden and Sawyer’s story and felt every emotion of joy, sorrow and heartbreak along with them. This is a story that I soon will not forget and can’t wait to read more from this author.

A story that perfectly balances steamy sexual interludes with love, loss and a second chance at life.

This is the first book I have ever read of JB Salsbury and I will be surely delving into more of her hot reads. ** waggles eyebrows ** certainly a read for a cold winters night!!
JB Salsbury has woven a heartfelt yet sexy read into this new book. It’s filled with rich characters, characters I completely enjoyed, and a great storyline that progresses well from beginning to end. A female character in which I enjoyed reading about, Sawyer (Celia AKA Cece) was strong, independent and also quiet diffident.
A great storyline fluently flowing from one chapter to the next explaining - telling us of the turmoil and heartaches from both points of view... I honestly can’t imagine how hard it must be for either of them but JB has put forth great descriptions within this storyline. Vivid descriptions throughout so if you’re after something steamy, sexy and tantalizing, that will not only melt your panties but make your toes curl yet be heartfelt, sweet and full of raw emotion then this read is for you!

Aden is a man that has been through a lot, seen, and now has to live with everything he has seen during his time with the Army. Feeling that his family isn't safe with him around he takes off on a fishing boat and keeps to himself. He has mindless one night stands with women to keep from getting close to anyone. He likes it that way, being alone. Until Sawyer shows up and rocks his carefully constructed world.

Sawyer is in town to help pack up her sisters rented home. Sawyer in many ways has the same mannerisms as Aden. She doesn't have any friends and keeps to herself. She thinks that many of the bad things that have happened to people around her are her fault. Going to pack up her sisters apartment is way out of her comfort zone but she would do anything for her sister.

Aden and Sawyer meet and there is a instant spark there. Both of them feel it and neither one tries to fight it....to bad. Aden helps Sawyer learn how to live in the moment, and Sawyer helps Aden forget about the demons that cause his dark thoughts.

There are obstacles that both characters have to over come. Will they be able to do that, help each other? Or are they both to far gone?

I really liked this book. Great storyline and characters. There were a few times I laughed, and several times that the story pulled on the ol' heartstrings. Aden and Sawyer are just truly two characters that are supposed to be together, the chemistry that they have is undeniable. I would recommend, and give it 4.5 heart warming stars.

How does one properly express the emotionally turbulent and yet extremely satisfying book that is Wrecked? I finished reading this book weeks ago and only am now writing my review only because I feel I can do so without giving even the slightest bit away. The title is most apropos with the story it is attached to. When a reader is finished with the book they will be wrecked but also have extreme fulfillment.

Now about these characters. OMW. Aden first. In a word I loved him. I always do love the broken characters. He is highly damaged and yet redeemable, but doesn't seem to know it. His story is one that will gut anyone with a heart. Sawyer is someone who will steal a heart. She is the one who will steal your soul.

The writing in this book will bring a reader to their knees, open a heart and make it bleed, and make a person believe in love. The powerful story was made even more beautiful by these amazing characters. Ms. Salsbury has always written her characters to have the capacity to wring every drop of human emotion from her readers. With Sawyer, Aden, Celia and the other amazing cast of characters she seems to have managed to "bleed the turnip" and get even more. I am still reeling. I can't stop talking about this book. Weeks later and I am still Wrecked and I don't see an end in sight. I would give this book more than 5 stars if possible and with that I very HIGHLY recommend it to any reader looking for an emotionally turbulent and fulfilling book.

I was only a couple of chapters into Wrecked when I knew that I was reading a book with five star potential. JB Salsbury immediately pulled me into Aden and Sawyer’s story and had me completely hooked. If a book entices me early on and makes me want to avoid my other responsibilities just so that I can keep reading it, I know that it is going to be special. I’m not ashamed to admit that I did shirk on some of my daily tasks because I didn’t want to leave the story or these characters. As an avid reader, I chase this feeling all the time, and when I find a book that takes me there, I never want it to end.

Wrecked is the whole package. It has all of the elements that I love when reading a contemporary romance. It has fantastic characters, a heartfelt storyline, humor, and plenty of romance that will make readers melt. With every turn of the page, I was feeling this story. In all honesty, I can’t sing this book’s praises enough.

JB Salsbury created characters that I was immediately invested in. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast of characters for this novel. From the main characters to the secondary characters, they each added their own important contribution to the story. Told from Aden and Sawyer’s perspectives, it gives the readers an insight into both of their thoughts, feelings, and motivations.

Aden Colt was a character that I was easily drawn to. A good male protagonist is imperative in a romance novel, and he wasn’t just a good one, he was a great one. He was rough around the edges, brooding, sexy, damaged, unhinged, and about as alpha male as you can get. Despite the pain, guilt, and shame that he carried with him on a daily basis, there never any doubt that his heart was good and that he deserved to be free of his demons and live a peaceful, full and happy life.

As much as I enjoyed Aden, I must admit that I had a bit of a girl crush on Sawyer Forrester. She was sweet, adorable, quirky, fearful, meticulous, organized, and had a heart of pure gold. While she lived a well-planned out life, she yearned to be able to let go of her fears and experience life to the fullest. But seriously, who doesn’t appreciate a good list and a bottle of antibacterial hand sanitizer? Witnessing her trying to be more adventurous always brought a smile to my face. There was so much more to her – more than even she believed. She was used to living in shadows, playing by the rules, keeping a structured lifestyle. With just a little push and some confidence, she was opening up to a world of possibilities and new experiences, and I couldn’t have been happier for her.

“Because life is beautiful and terrifying,” she whispers. “And we deserve to feel it down to our bones.”

Wrecked is a beautiful, unique love story. Aden and Sawyer’s relationship was intense, complicated, and filled with need and desire. I was rooting for them right from the get-go. They didn’t have an easy road ahead of them, and they were both keeping secrets, but if two people were suited for each other, and could bring out the best in the other, it was Aden and Sawyer. They were perfectly imperfect.

“You make me feel like I can do anything.”

His eyebrows drop low and his jaw ticks. “And you make me forget.”

Wrecked was everything that I could have hoped for and so much more. I loved every moment that I spent with these characters and this story. This book will definitely be gracing my list of favorite books for 2017!

*5+ Stars

If Salsbury's SPLIT is the dark side of romance, then WRECKED is the light coming to wash it clean. Dealing with the declining health of her twin sister, Sawyer can't deny her last request: to go to Celia's home and pack up her things AS HER. Sawyer's never been the outlandish twin and pushing herself to make decisions based on the flip of a coin places her in the path of a man she never would've met as herself.

Aden is home fresh from war and as with most soldiers, he's torn between nightmares of the past and the unknown of his future. But when he meets Celia, or Sawyer pretending to be her, he can't help but feel the pull. There's something off about her; but her innocent eyes and wonder at the world around her draws him in regardless. His need to protect her is just the thing to help him focus.

I've had a few stories lately with veterans dealing with PTSD at different levels. Wrecked shows a man who is just that; wrecked by the loss of his men and the betrayal of his own trust. Aden cannot handle life back home and Celia seems to be a relief to him when he hasn't been able to find it in months. Watching these two pull one another out of their shells was a wonderful journey.

I feared that Aden finding out the truth would truly shatter the remaining sense of hope he had in him. Salsbury reveals and concludes it in one of the most beautiful HEA I've ever read. You'll be laughing, you'll be crying, you'll be hoping, but in the end all you'll be is WRECKED!

Loved, loved, loved this story of two broken souls that found peace when they were together. Aden had massive guilt and nightmares from his time in the army. Sawyer had OCD and social issues. However, as soon as these two met, their worlds became calm, even though the fireworks were off the charts. Nothing could be that simple though, and they didn’t get their HEA without a lot of heartache, and you all know that heartache is my favorite part (besides the kissing!). 😉

So Aden is the type of hero I love. He was so very broken, and who could blame him? I could not even wrap my head around what he must have felt. But then Sawyer showed up in his life, and their attraction was undeniable. Aden had massive PTSD and could be violent. While Sawyer trusted him, it was also clear he was still a danger. I liked that Ms. Salsbury wrote him in a realistic way; I really didn’t know when his unpredictable violence would bubble to the surface and I was definitely kept on edge. While Aden tried his best to keep all of that at bay, it was not possible. I grieved for him as he tried to make it through every day. When he had his good moments he was funny, snarky and of course a very red blooded man and didn’t hide it.

Sawyer was lovely. I think her “old self” would have grated on me, but the person she became when we met her… I loved her. She was nervous, yet brave enough to keep forging ahead. Her inner dialogue was fantastic, and she too was funny and snarky. I loved her!

The romance was great from the very beginning. There was chemistry and most of the time there was no game playing, just pure honesty which I loved. But there was one part, one kind of huge part that wasn’t honest and it drove me insane. So on that note, let me segway into the next paragraph.

Do I have any regrets with this book? Only a baby one. Really. But it was real. The conflict was terribly predictable. I cringed, cringed, cringed when it played out. I smelled it coming from the beginning. I have to knock off half a star for that, otherwise this story was pretty much perfection. The writing style overrode the rest of the twin storyline.

The ending was fine, that was the predictable part. However, beyond that we got a great epilogue and I felt that I really got to enjoy the happily ever after.

Rec it? YES, YES, YES! If you love men that have broken hearts after their time in the military, this is an absolute must for your TBR. Loved it!

Happy reading!

Wrecked is one of those books that pulled me in from the start and didn’t let go. I love starting a book and being hooked from the beginning. JB Salsbury wrote a beautiful story about living life to the fullest, forgiving others (and forgiving yourself), and letting love heal you. Honestly, when I started this one, I expected it to be a little more dark and angsty. I was pleasantly surprised with the way it turned out. Wrecked was very much an emotional and raw read, but it was also sweet, romantic, and even light hearted at times.

Sawyer’s life is best summed up in one word. Predictable. But something happens that changes her. Or someone. When Sawyer travels to California, her sister encourages her to live life to the fullest. To take risks and not be so orderly and safe. Sawyer does just that. She meets Aden Colt shortly after getting to California and is drawn to him immediately.

Aden Colt has been back in the states for a few months. After a traumatic tour overseas, he’s not the same man he once was. He struggles with his demons, and it seems that nothing and no one can help or reach him. Then he meets Sawyer. There is something about this girl with freckles that he can’t resist. Even though his better judgment tells him to stay away from her, he can’t.

Sawyer and Aden’s relationship changes them both. Sawyer lives fearlessly when she is with Aden. And Aden can function when he’s with Sawyer. I loved the two of them together! Aden is a tortured hero who has been through so much. I love the effect Sawyer has on him. And I really loved seeing Sawyer come into her own with Aden. They were a perfect match.

Wrecked is one of those stories that left me with a huge smile on my face. I love books that make me truly look at my life and make me think about living to life to the fullest. This story did that for me. The characters were lovable, the writing was fantastic, and the ending had me so happy I cried happy tears!
