My younger students love all the Geronimo Stilton and Thea Stilton books, and this book will be no exception. I particularly like that Thea Stilton is a strong female character who has adventures and solves problems with her female friends; it is a good example for girls. The graphic novel format is engaging to many students.

The Thea sisters are on another adventure. This time the sisters have the opportunity to show off their musical skills, however, they is trouble and the sisters must work together to figure out what or who is causing these problems. The colorful pictures that are part of all the books adds to the story and helps young readers connect the content with the text. Also, using different fonts and color helps young readers understand and comprehend vocabulary. Another great book in this series.

My Rating: 3/5

A very cute book for kids to read. I enjoyed it and would read more of this books. They are really short and easy to get through. The characters are really likable.

A rather juicy and entertaining read, this Mouseford Academy tale is all about the teens and their likes, especially boy bands. With a competition thrown in the works to see who would be the best of the lot to open the concert show with the boy band 60 Second of Spring. It germinated a lot of competitiveness along with a lot of jealousy, which left room for all sorts of interesting and amusing mishaps to take place. Thea sisters are an all girls band who dabble in solving mysteries and this one fell right into their arms. Nice toons.

The Thea sisters join a singing competition for a chance to become the opening act for the popular boy band group 6 Seconds of Spring. The Mouseford Academy is all abuzz with excitement but Vanilla de Vissens is up to no good and it is up to the Thea Sisters to make sure everyone gets a fair shot at the competition. Young readers will like the familiar characters of this series. This is a good addition to the Thea Stilton Mouseford Academy series.

I loved this Thea Stilton Graphic novel and thought it gave a beautifully strong message to young girls and boys to believe in themselves, and if you do you can do anything you put your mind to. The story revolves around the Thea Sisters and their friends who get the opportunity to audition to be the opening act for the boy band 6SOS'S. Unfortunately for the Thea Sisters and their friends it doesn't go as smooth sailing for them because of Vanilla and her desire to do anything to win.

This book for tween's will keep the readers engaged to the very end, guessing at each stage what might happen next. I feel that this book is a safe read for tween's which explores the issues that they may experience themselves in school. Each page is colourful and fun, with both words and pictures speaking volumes. The camaraderie between the friends demonstrates to the readers that it is better to work together rather than against each other, and that doing right will create more positive opportunities than doing wrong against others.

It is quite an easy read and will particularly suit the tween girl audience. With Gernomio Stilton and Thea Stilton already being very popular and loved reads by children, this one will be no different and will soon be a much loved read of many.

A Song for Thea Sisters is a well-drawn graphic novel aimed at middle-grade readers. It is the seventh in a series but stands alone fairly well. I imagine you’d get more from it if you understood how the Thea Sisters got to where they were, or even which one was which, but it’s not necessary.

A Song for Thea Sisters tells a simple story with themes of working together, overcoming obstacles, and shows how it’s good to be unselfish. It’s an entertaining and easy read that even my 8-year-old enjoyed. At 56 pages, it is short enough to suit the attention span of the intended age range.

Neither of us (kiddo or I) are rabid fans after reading A Song for Thea Sisters, but we’d pick up another book if we saw it at the library. In the meantime, though, we’re more inclined to stick with the Geronimo Stilton series.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Well. Well. Sorry, I can't rate this very high, can I now? It is practically the same story as Mouseford Academy #7. Boyband comes to Whale Island: Check. Talent show to perform the opening act: Check. Vanilla ruining everything and be pissed off: Check. Who wins?: Check for most. There are some changes there, but really, it ends as the other book ended.
Sorry, but can't you even make a decent new story? I know that there are A LOT of Thea Stilton books, but so far it seems the writers are doing a terrific good job at making sure each book has something new and fresh.

Not to mention, as I have said in other reviews for graphic novels: The art of a graphic novel can make and break it. This one however is going for the breaking it. The art was not good. Really, it was not. I was looking forward to the gorgeous illustrations the books have these days, but instead I got something that was even worse than the first art of the books.

I didn't even recognise Colette at all. I even showed other people the art from this graphic novel and how Colette was supposed to look (according to all the books), and they didn't even recognise her and wondered what had happened to her.
Not only because of her art, oh no. It is just not Colette. One she doesn't play guitar, she sings, but apparently in this one she suddenly doesn't sing and just grabs a guitar. Two, what happened to all her pinkness? She adores pink, but she barely wears it here. Most of her outfits were BLUE. And yes, she often wears a blue top, but not everything is blue, she prefers pink. And with the exception of maybe a few accessories (like a scarf or socks) there was a distinct lack of pink. Which is totally weird. Plus I don't think she would wear the clothes she wore in this one. She is pretty fashion-minded, and no offence, but these are not super fashionable items to wear.

And whereas the book actually had them struggling to form a band, here it seems they just grabbed some equipment and done. They also didn't seem to have any problems with creating a song. I know the Thea Sisters are pretty magical, but this magical? No.

I was really looking forward to this story, and while I did enjoy the talent show, it was just a rehashed scenario so I was bored.

It is such a shame, I was really looking forward to reading it.
