Unfortunately I was unable to download this book in it's full format, so have found it impossible to give a review.

However, it sounds like it would be great in paperback.

What an enjoyable and beautiful little book! Perfectly captured Nantucket! So glad they included light houses!

This is a book filled with photographs of Nantucket. There is very little text. The photographs are not very special. They all look a little flat. This might make a nice keepsake of a trip to the island. As a arm chair traveler I was disappointed in my visit.

Nantucket Vistas is essentially a souvenir, keepsake type of book which appears designed to awaken memories of visits made or hoped for. There are some beautiful photographs of what appear to be glorious beaches and old cottages, historic and centuries-old buildings. But the photos have a certain sameness for one such as I who has never been to the island. There are no artistic effects, very little seasonal difference shown (one picture with snow on the ground). The photos of the beaches are beautiful and likely will bring back happy memories for anyone who has spent a day on one of them lying in the sun or going for a swim.

3.5*

As a souvenir or a gift, this small-format book captures Nantucket vistas in wide-view format, offering colourful panoramas to treasure for years to come.

From the harbour with its iconic lighthouse to the streets of the town featuring cobblestones and quaint and upscale shops, the pages capture the highlights of time spent on the island.

Continue your tour through the island's landscapes, by viewing the beaches along the north shore en route to the western end of the island and the area around Madaket. Heading east, pass the beaches on the Atlantic Ocean including Cisco and Surfside. Enjoy colourful glimpses of the former quintessential fishing village of Siasconset, with its rose-covered cottages.

Just to the north are two historic lighthouses, Sankaty and Great Point. Pass by Quidnet, Polpis, Altar Rock, and Monomoy. Captured across the island, these panoramas provide an enjoyable keepsake of magnificent Nantucket.

Full of beautiful photographs of the Nantucket area, this small format book is ideal for anybody visiting the area as a keepsake, or for any armchair visitors.

I have never been to Nantucket before this morning. I had a perfect trip, I rode in my easy chair dressed in my PJ's. This book has so many wonderful pictures you feel like you actually visited. The pictures on the water are so crisp and clear you can almost feel the ocean breeze on your face. Each picture has a small description underneath so you know where you are visiting and what you are seeing. I loved the pictures in town with the cobblestone sidewalks. The houses hidden behind flowers. All the boats fighting for a spot in the crowded waters. Just stunning!! There is 128 pages of beautiful pictures in this book. Author P Richmond has done a wonderful job of showing us the sites of Nantucket.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

As you would expect, there are plenty of photographs of beaches, sea & boats along with clapboard houses and aerial shots so that this makes for a nice souvenir of a trip to Nantucket. There are, though, quite a few duff shots, which, despite the captions, could be almost anywhere - nondescript vegetation and shrubbery, and some poorly photographed 'arty' shots of seaside grasses/meadow. I know there is moorland on Nantucket, and it is good to show the side of the island away from the beaches and coastal charm but the photos of moorland and vegetation in the book are, with a few exceptions, rather dull and boring. For me, a photo of a bike path running alongside a road with some trees & shrubs just isn't interesting. Occasionally the technical aspects are a bit lax too, for example a photo of a shop window ruined by the reflections of what looks like a car park (use of a simple filter would have prevented this).

As a memento of a holiday the book is fine but it isn't the highest quality photography and is a missed opportunity.

The Nantucket Vistas book brought out the beach life, slow and relaxed. Reminded me of my trip in Lompoc, California.
I loved the Life Saving Museum showing the swing made with life saving ring, which shows how a place uniquely modifies everyday objects.
Many buildings had shingle architecture. This could have been pointed out. Yellow blooms and shore birds could have been identified by their specific species. These details would stand out for the reader to go make that Nantucket visit or compare them to other trips where they consider the geography of it and be more involved with any place for that matter.

Brings back memories of a holiday to Cape Cod & Nantucket 15 years ago. Nice to rekindle old memories.

Unimpressive photography and text. Just seems like random shots that anyone could have taken.

Once again we have a wonderful book of photos of Nantucket. Not a place I know a lot of but these photos make me want to visit and enjoy the sun. There was just a tiny thing I found and that is the photos are very basic. Beach photos, stores, and the popular boat pictures it could be almost be any tropical destination.

A collection of photographs depicting the island of Nantucket. I would have liked more variation in the photos; there is one of snow and one of fog, but the rest all appear as sunny summer days, which can be repetitive.

A pretty basic coffee table photo book featuring images from Nantucket, Massachusetts. The photos were not super impressive - they looked like vacation photos I would take if I were to ever go to the East Coast (nah, too cold).
