A pretty good read. I was expecting a sappy love story but it turned out to be much more. Desdemona and Hunter were a likable couple in the end

From reading the book blurp, I expected the book to be more about the consequences or payback for an announcement on national television that Desdemona (MC) faked the big O - always! But it was not. That is where our story begins but it really about two high school sweethearts getting a second chance after 9 years of not speaking or seeing each other - and both with a different version of what led to that.

Probably not the best book for me to read, due to the high school sweetheart angle! Let's see misunderstandings that go on for years...people not talking to each other....people making assumptions about everything. Nothing unrealistic about that! It happens everyday.

The story was funny and interesting, but predictable to me (see paragraph above, it's sorta hit a nerve.) But the two finally sit down and talk AFTER getting back together and breaking up a few more times - always without talking and with a Dear Jane letter sent via email! This happens only because of intervention or interference by some well meaning friends. I won't tell you how the story ends.....it's worth reading to find out!

I just finished this book and immediately looked for more books by this wonderful writer. I just loved the book and can't quit thinking of the characters. A book you don't want to put down but also don't want to finish. Thanks QD Purdu and please hurry with your next book!

I felt the characters were totally unrealistic and the story was too predictable.
The only good thing, it was a quick read.

Wow this book is great!!! At first I didn't think I would like it but when I started to read it I couldn't put it down after learning her ex has publicly called her out on something so private is bad but to get in touch with the one you truely love and have mix communications and a huge mystery at the whole thing is another. The suspense is huge, but having everything go their way would be difficult.

A super fun story. Childhood romance, first loves, second chances all rolled up in one cute story with moments of sadness and times I wish they both would handle things differently. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I didn't expect this, but I loved this book. At some point, I found myself not wanting to put it down and now I just want to read more of this story. Desdemona is such a lovable and interesting character. Even though it didn't take me long to figure out what will happen next, I really couldn't wait to see the way it would unfold. I'd definitely recommend this if you're in for an adult read. :)

Laugh out loud, sexy story of faking O.....
Desdemona was flipping through channel one night and she hears her name through her ex-boyfriend.... When she heard her name (having an Very Unusual name) she couldn’t miss what he was accusing her of.. He announced to the viewers that she faked all her “O” while she was with him. She couldn’t believe what she just heard him say.
Now she is getting phone calls from the producer who wants to invite her to the show. She couldn’t believe what was happening to her. So she disconnects all social media thanks to her ex-boyfriend.
She is starting to doubt herself and starts her request to find her ‘O”. So she ends up sleeping with three people in a week... At least both wanted to help her to find her “O”.
But she was always waiting for Hunter.. She was in love with Hunter while she was in high school but they couldn’t be together after him being incarcerated because of Desdemona (that’s what she believes). Both were madly in love but they couldn’t’ pursue their love.
Finally Desdemona’s mom find Hunter being a famous author and meets him at the book signing and passes her info to him. After few mishaps, they finally find each other.. Sparks flies and everything hasn’t changed since high school but it is easier than said...

It was a definite page turner... I was laughing out loud at some moments and felt her heart breaks in some parts. I did enjoy reading. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys quirky characters...

I had fun with Faking Lucky. It’s not every day that an ex-boyfriend tells your, supposedly, best kept secret on a national reality show. The aftermath is hilarious, heartbreaking and mostly just plain fun to watch.

Years ago, Desdemona had lost the man she considered her soulmate to a senseless misunderstanding. They were teens, and you could have expected that miscommunication could have easily happened at that age. Yet, Hunter was the man she held up against all others, and the others always fell far short of her ideal man. Right now she’s in the middle of trying to do damage control from her sleazy ex’s declarations – who does that to a person, a really scummy action. The last person she’d have ever expected to run into again was Hunter. And now there are maybe possibilities – if everything doesn’t get messed up once again.

You’ll run the whole gambit of emotions from teary eyes to laugh out loud moments. I liked Des, she’s probably every woman at some point in their lives. She deserves that happy ever after with her soulmate. I’d recommend Faking Lucky to any Romance reader. It’s fun, it’s quirky, it’s maybe at times too realistic… and you’ll enjoy the ride. I know I did.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

3.5 Humor Stars. This cute, funny romance start as a teenage crush that ends badly due to bad luck and lack of communication. Hunter the high school jock and Desdemona, the shy student who spends her time playing piano are a unlikely couple. They hope to have a future beyond high school but things did not work out for them.

Fast forward 9 years. Desdemona works in Austin playing her piano at various events and Hunter is a famous author that is in Austin on a book signing tour. Desdemona has just been outed on TV by a old boyfriend for faking the big O. OK it is true that the only big Os for her have been provided by a BOB. She decides to take matters into her own hands so as fate would have it she runs into Hunter in a drugstore where she has gone to buy supplies for her sexual needs.

Their adventure back to each other is heart felt. Will Hunter be the answer to her big O problem? So many wasted years but will true love always wins in the end?
