This was a fun take on the opposite attracts/enemies to lover/marriage of convenience trope. Olivia and Cole had that simmering attraction going on despite being on opposite ends of the lifestyle spectrum. Its a lighthearted, entertaining and funny read to was quite enjoyable.

I couldn't finish this book no matter how much I tried. I know this storyline has been done quite a bit but most of the time in these types of stories around the 50% mark the characters show some growth. Not in this one though. They'd sleep together, promise it'd never happen again, be mean to each other, then sleep together again. I really didn't like the heroine. She was borderline obsessed with the hero before they even "married" and reminded of a school kid. She expected him to change everything she didn't agree with, but refused to change a thing about herself. I don't like when characters become contradictory and she was. I wanted to love this book and I'm so grateful to have received the ARC, sadly it just wasn't for me.

Olivia Ramsey has made it her mission to get Coleman Grant III to listen to her when it comes to saving a species of bat that is endangered by one of his multi-million dollar projects. She’s been waiting for him every morning to go over her planet saving agenda as he makes his morning coffee stop on the way to his corporate world of meetings.

As opposite as Olivia and Cole are they find themselves running into one another in Vegas when they are both there to help friends celebrate their wedding. After Olivia let’s her hair down she finds herself waking up in Cole’s hotel room needing to do the walk of shame. But before she can leave Cole throws her for a loop with a wedding proposal.

Black Tie Optional is the first in the Wild Wedding series by Ann Marie Walker. While the idea behind the story involved here wasn’t a new one, a pair of opposites finding themselves together due to one needing to marry, the story was still a fun one for the most part.

For me as a reader I found Cole to be just what he should be as a corporate playboy billionaire so as we learned of his softer side he definitely grew on me. But Olivia did tend to irritate me with her better than you attitude for too long in the story, Cole didn’t seem to deserve it after she finds herself in the situation by partying a bit too hard herself.

In the end I’d give this first in the series 3.5 stars and would still be interested in seeing where the series goes from here. The idea of opposites attracting is always an appealing one but this pair just needed to admit their feelings a tad sooner in the story in my opinion.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Great read, traveled everywhere with me and I was constantly taking it out to read a age here and there whenever I could. I thoroughly enjoyed Black Tie Optional and I will be looking for other books by Ann Marie Walker!

This is a fun little romp and I enjoyed it immensely! I haven't read a book quite like it in ages so I had a lot of fun and quite frankly a lot of smiles while reading it! It's funny, romantic, and an overall blast! Now I know why so many readers rave about Ann Marie Walkers work- she clearly knows how to write a fantastic novel and engage her readers. With that, this book packs the punches and will leave readers feeling extremely satisfied. It's also quite the mix of sub-genres (i.e. it's an opposites attract, enemies to lovers, and fake relationship type novel). So you really get a little bit of everything with it. If you are a reader who hasn't had the chance to read the authors work yet then I think starting with this one is a good idea. It gives you a taste of the authors writing style and sucks you in from page 1. I am now highly anticipating the second book in the series and will certainly be jumping to read it once published.

This was a sweet and lovely quick read. This is the first book I read from this author, but not the last for sure. This is a “HATE / LOVE Romance” kinda story. Enemies to lovers, both came from different worlds and when their worlds collide, we have a result of an explosive couple that will put your kindle on fire!

Olivia Ramsey has been harassing CEO Coleman Grant III for months because an environmental cause: to save the endangered northern long-eared bat. They are opposites, Cole Grant is a billionaire, used to flights in first class, security guards and a driver. A life of luxury. A man that wants to conquer the world. Olivia is a humanitarian, a farm girl who lives in a tiny apartment and she just wants to save the world. It took just one night in Las Vegas to make these two come together for the same “cause”… marriage. Cole needed a wife and Olivia needed to save her cause, they made a deal, they just have to be married for three months, not too much to lose, time will fly. But what happens when they can’t resist what they’re feeling for each other? What happens when Cole has to prove to his grandmother that the marriage is real and not fake? How that affect their arrangement?

As we know opposites attract and Olivia and Grant definitely attract. Their chemistry is undeniable, how much they hated each other is equal to how much they lust for each other. They can’t be apart. Will they surrender to their desires?

This was a fast, easy and enjoyable read! I do wish we could’ve got POV of Cole & Olivia, the story is told in third person. Maybe more about their love, the issue with Cole’s grandmother. At the middle of the book, I think the story went fast, things happened fast and I ended wanted more of them, but I’m happy with how things ended for them. Can’t wait for book 2 of this series ICING ON THE CAKE (Cassie’s story).

Black Tie Optional is a really fun and sexy frenemies to lovers romance that I could not get enough of.  Coleman and Olivia had HOT chemistry in spades and their banter was out of this word sexy. This enemies to lovers romance was laugh out loud funny, had swoony moments that left you with nothing but feels. What a fantastic start to a series!

When zealous humanitarian and animal activist Olivia Ramsey makes it her mission to convince  (and stalk) Billionaire corporate raider, Coleman Grant III, to protect an endangered animal, sparks fly and an attraction builds. But what happens when two people who are worlds apart wind up in Vegas for a destination bachelor/bachelorette party? Drinks are flowing and inhibitions are lowered and one thing leads to another and --- BOOM! FIREWORKS, folks!

I absolutely loved this novel! The marriage of convenience/business transaction trope has been done before but this author puts a unique spin on it. Cole and Olivia had great chemistry and their feelings seemed so genuine! I will absolutely read the next one in this series as I'm curious about Cassie and "Hank".

I would like to thank NetGalley and the SMP Romance team for an advanced copy of this book.

Can one drunken night end in happiness? Cole might have all the money in the world but he is about to lose it all unless he gets married in 3 days, the only woman that he finds is the one that dislikes everything about him. Olivia can't believe that she just spent a wild night with Cole, the one man that really gets to her. If she agrees to his arrangement, she will get the one thing that she has been after for months. But little do they know that their fake marriage will effect them both and they both try fight their feelings for each other. Can they really stay together afterwards or will all the lies get in the way? A great read lots of LOl moments and two characters that just gel with each other even though they believe in different things.

Black Tie Optional by Ann Marie Walker - 3 stars

The premise of this book hooked me in, as I love a good enemies to lovers story, but I didn't really warm up to Cole until 3/4 of the way through the book. I actually thought he was a bit of a jerk, and didn't treat Olivia very nicely at all, until suddenly he decided he was in love with her. I felt like there needed to me more in the book: more scenes together, more reasons to fall in love, more funny little episodes to bring them closer together. It just felt lacking. I did like Olivia a lot, but I felt the whole part in Vegas was strange and totally out of character for her.

So just not enough for me to give more than three stars, but still a light enough read on a Sunday afternoon.

This was a fun read. Quirky and filled with humor, I would consider this a great summer beach book.

I liked the plot of this story and was intrigued by the particular opposites-attract concept that the author created. Really cute idea. What fell a little short for me, though, was the actual characters themselves. I didn't particularly like either character. I thought I would really like Olivia, but I was disappointed in some of her decisions, and Cole was just unlikeable at every turn (with the exception of how he was with his sister). I kept thinking something would happen that would make me start liking him, but I just never got there. He pretty much remained a pretentious jerk in my eyes until the very end. With that being said, I still liked him better than Dr. Do Gooder, so I'm glad Olivia told that guy to take a hike. This is the first thing that I've read by this author, and because I liked her writing style, I would read more. Just because I didn't care for these two characters much doesn't mean I wouldn't like others in future books. In fact, I really liked the secondary of characters of Rebecca and Cassie in this one and would be interested in reading their stories.

Black Tie Optional by Ann Marie Walker was the first book I've read by this author and it wont be the last. Very funny, charming and engaging story. The main characters are like the best friends you always wished you had and they find each other. A little sad that the grandmother of Grant seemed to fade as the story progressed as she was a major factor in the sole conflict and that some what distracted from the story for me but not enough to lessen my feeling of the book as a whole. I appreciate the opportunity to read the book and Thank Netgalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I can say that this book was hard to put down. The tension that radiated off the pages between these Cole and Olivia was breathtaking. Black Tie Optional was a quick paced read based on the story line of enemies to lovers with laugh out loud moments, passionate encounters, and a battle of whits.

I loved Olivia's down to earth personality. I enjoyed that she was a polar opposite of Cole. The antics during her lobbying for a endangered animal. His attitude that she was cute but her cause wasn't something that topped his priority list. You could tell that they were becoming smitten with their daily interactions.

The characters are complex, have hidden stories that are uncovered. They are a puzzle that needs to be put together and are stronger. I enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged. When I was finished I was still smiling from the story of Olivia and Cole. I can't wait to read Icing on the Cake and see more of Cole and Olivia, while exploring Cassie's story.

Three and a half stars.

This is a simple tale of opposites attract.

Coleman Grant III is a powerful gazillionaire, corporate raider running his family's multi-million dollar business. He's first class air travel, chauffeurs, bodyguards and a Gold Coast penthouse.

Olivia Ramsey is a humanitarian who is trying to persuade Coleman Grant to save the endangered northern long-eared bat. She's combat boots and jeans, tiny condo and save the planet.

They find themselves guests at a joint hen and grooms weekend in Vegas where they drink way too much and end up having a night of spectacular sex together. But they don't get married by mistake, oh no! Coleman's father put an unfortunate marriage clause into his will, if Coleman isn't married by the age of 30 he doesn't inherit the family business, instead it goes to his grandmother and then to a charitable trust. Coleman offers Olivia a deal, a three month marriage and he will move heaven and earth to save the bats.

But of course Coleman's grandmother is loath to let go of more money and power and she challenges the validity of the marriage, soon a paper marriage needs to be more than in name only. But when Coleman tries to Pretty Woman Olivia he finds she is less interested in shopping and diamonds than other women of his acquaintance.

I liked this but I think maybe it played the opposites attract too safe. Coleman's wealthy lifestyle should have made more of an impact on Olivia's values and led to more arguments.

This was a fun, low-angst romantic comedy - always love it when the hero calls the heroine Ms Ramsey.

Cole and Olivia have nothing in common. He's a billionaire business man and she just wants to save the bats, but the connection between them is powerful and hot! Anne Marie Walker just made it to the top of my "must read" list!

This book made me laugh! Olivia has been badgering CEO Cole Grant for an environmental cause for 83 days. Then she has to leave for a wedding in Vegas, but unfortunately, Cole is also in Vegas for the same wedding. They bump into each other on the plane and in the resort and their bickering does not stop them from having a hot night together.

Cole has a big legal issue with his grandmother and has to be married before he turns 30 to keep his company (ok, that's a bit cliche) and he asks Olivia to be his fake wife. And of course they keep falling into bed with each other. I laughed so hard about the incident with the pig when they visit Olivia's parents. I also liked Olivia's best friend and she will be the heroine in the next book. This book can totally stand alone with a happy ending, but I want to read more about Olivia, Cole, his sister and other characters.

I give it 5 stars as I enjoyed it very much and the enemies-to-lovers trope is a favorite of mine.

First book I have read from this author and I loved it!!! What a great story. Olivia and Cole are the perfect farm girl meets city boy. They are definite opposites. But these two characters have such an undeniable chemistry. The characters in this book each have a unique sense about them that in the end you want to know more. Ms. Ann Walker takes her time telling the story. She does not rush it. I did think Grandma Grant could have maybe did more in the story than she did, but it was still a good plot. The story is told in both Cole and Olivia's words. This book is fun, entertaining and sexy. And the heated scenes are to die for. :) There is a preview for a book 2 called “Icing On The Cake” that I am definitely going to check out. I highly recommend this book you won't be disappointed. #Happy Reading!
