An early reader.
I shared this with my toddler grandchildren and it got a bit of a mixed response. They love being able to read books on my Kindle with me but they definitely have their favourites. The eldest, nearly two years old, likes the book, but always wants to skip forwards to the dog - considering that she is surrounded by cats I find this a bit surprising. No other part of the book holds her attention. My grandson, 6 months younger, watched it intently and with much more enthusiasm.

Having said that, this is not solely a book for toddlers, it is intended to introduce a number of very simple words, which are repeated throughout, to start early readers along the route towards reading. For this reason it is pretty simple.
I'm not, personally, a great fan of the artwork and the story doesn't have much to appeal to parents for repeated reading (like The Gruffalo or Dear Zoo, for example), but it serves its purpose as an early reader and we'll probably return to it from time to time.

“Kitty and Me” is a great book for beginning readers and English Language Learners. It features larger text and repeating sight words. The pictures are vibrant and evoke a happy, inviting setting. The end page features a list of words included in the story, so readers can see just how far they’ve come. A good selection for early readers.

This adorable little book is designed to build confidence in your child as he starts his awesome journey of becoming an avid lifelong reader.

It features less than 50 unique words to become familiar with. It uses word recognition and visual cues to help the new reader achieve his goals. The words are all listed at the end of the book so you have a chart of the words involved with the story.

The introduction has "A Note to Parents & Caregivers." It lists four ways, if utilized, will bring reading success to your child and making him a Reading Star!

* Read the book aloud as a first introduction
* Run your fingers below the words as you read each line
* Give your child the chance to finish the sentences or read repeating words while you read the rest.
* Encourage your child to read aloud every day!

The tale centres around a young girl and interaction with her cat as they play with balls, encounter the family dog and finally after lots of play curl up and snoooozzzzeee away! If you are looking for a catalyst to kick-start your child's reading process this book will be a great asset.

This book is very cute, it is good to introduce children to reading. I found it useful for teaching English as a second language to Italian children. Recommended!
Molto carino questo libro per avvicinare i bambini alla lettura. L'ho trovato utile anche per insegnare l'inglese come seconda lingua ai bambini italiani. Consigliato!

This book is from the Reading Stars series. It is a simple book for beginning readers to build confidence when learning to read. There are only 50 words used in this repetitive story about a girl and her kitty. They play together, sit and even nap together. The kitty does not like the dog, but the little girl is not afraid of him. There are large bright illustrations on each page that will provide reading clues to the reader. There is also a nice note to parents and caregivers with suggestions to help their child read this book. A good book for a family library.
