The premise of the book is very interesting. I would have loved to read more than sixty pages because it was, from what i could see, very interesting. I wanted to know more about the characters, about their story, about their lives. Sometimes I just have to read something that will be an easy read, a good story about love, friendship ans how to get away from your past and from the first sixty pages, i could tell that it's what this book could do for me. I cannot wait to read more.

This little sneak peek whet my appetite for the rest of the book. I'm looking forward to reading more once it becomes available.

I was lucky enough to read the first 3 chapters of The Ones Who Got Away. :)
It is a second-chance love story, but with a twist. It deals with the topic of school shootings, how the tragedy affected the main characters - hence the title. The beginning is super intriguing, laying out the groundwork for what appears to be a painful and complicated story. The plot looks really promising, and I'm curious to see where it goes and how the romance develops.

Can't stop reading. I want more! The story is intense and full of emotions. When is the rest?

I received this 3 chapter sneak peak from NetGalley and the publisher. When I first requested this , I did not realize it was only a few chapters and I was thinking of not even reading this, but I am glad that I did and find this very much grabs my attention and I look forward to reading more. There was a school shooting at the senior prom and this book begins twelve years later when several of the survivors are back in their hometown to do a documentary. This has started out very promising. When I look up the author's previous work, some of it shows up categorized as erotica, I hope this book does not turn out to be erotica, because I will then not be continuing on with it at a later date.

Wow! This sneak peak has my interest piqued! I can't wait to find out what happens next! Thank you to the publisher/author/NetGalley for allowing me to enter into the beginning of a very intriguing story. Roni Loren grabs you right from the very start and you become invested in the characters very quickly.
I would be so thrilled to receive an ARC of this book as I am impatient to wait until next year!

I just read a sneak peek of this book, a few chapters, and I cannot wait to see how the story will further unfold. What I read was very intriguing, well written, and there was an underlying sense of mystery throughout. The story seems to have a lot of potential, I am very interested to see what Mrs. Loren has done with it.
Too bad we gotta wait till January for the full book.

I read and review the sample chapter book The Ones Who Got Away by author Roni Loren. I really liked this book. I thought the backstory was sad. But out of tragedy there is the hope or promise of better things to come. How tragedy can bring even the least like friends together, how maybe a romance could be there. How the only people to blame for what happened are the shooters themselves. About how what if's can hold us back from our potential. How beauty can come from the ashes. Yes bad things can happen to anybody it doesn't matter who you are. But sometimes to be a survivor through the worst you have to confront the ugly to become the stronger better person that you are meant to be. I can't wait to see where the author takes us next on this journey!

I've been blowing through Roni Lauren's Loving On the Edge series, so being able to get a sneak peek at her new title was pretty exciting. This basically has all my catnip: survivors of tragedy, high school secret love, and Loren's steamy sex scenes and tension. I am going to read the hell out of this book when it's released.

Beautifully compelling. What a wonderful sneak peek. I look forward to reading the finished novel.

What a teaser. I knew, going into this, that it wasn't a complete book. Oh wow, Liv and Finn, I am so looking forward to reading the complete story.
The pain these two are feeling jumps off the pages, as does the regret. This will be on my must read list

I have only read a sneak peek of this story through Netgalley and I must say what an amazing start. This will be on my wish list as soon as it's released.
A very haunting start that drags you into the story and I'm desperate to read more.
The first few chapters really got my attention and kept me intrigued in the story. Not your usual start to a romance story which I loved. I like a darker twist and be taken by surprise by a story which this did.

Didn't realize this wasn't a sneak peak of the WHOLE book! Definitely got my attention and can't wait to read the rest when it comes out.

My review: *** This review is for a sneak peek of the first three chapters, which were provided to me by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Huge thanks to them. ***
Oh, this is sooo good! I haven't read a Roni Loren book before but I've been aware of her work and her writing advice, so when I saw the unique premise in the blurb I knew I had to have it. Even from just the sneak peek I can get a good sense of the characters and what they have been through as survivors of a school shooting. Twelve years later they've returned to film a documentary, and the chemistry between Liv and her secret love, Finn, doesn't appear to have diminished, although she has blamed him for what happened to her that day. He's a bit of a man of mystery as an adult, and - this goes without saying - super hot. Just this taster was not enough and I cannot wait to read the rest of the story. Is it January yet?
My rating: 5/5

I was extremely excited to get a sneak peak into Roni Loren's upcoming book, The Ones Who Got Away. Hands down this is so different from what I have read of the authors work in the past. I love the fact the Roni was able to give us something new. My heart was invested into the book as soon as I started to read chapter one. I was completely hooked. The only bad about the book...it does not come out until next year. Talk about having patience. But anticipation will make the full book reveal much sweeter!
My heart clenched for the survivors of a tragedy that happened over a decade before. To support the victims and charity, they come together to give an interview for a documentary abut the night their lives were changed forever. You also get a bit of forbidden romance. A young teenage boy and a young teenage girl, both caught up in a little love affair years before. Then suddenly torn apart. They kept their relationship a secret.
I have to say, I only see this book getting better and better. I will be thinking about what will happen the morning after where the book left off. I am grateful to be given this opportunity to be able get a peak into Roni Loren's new book world! This book is going to be a must read.

This preview was only the first three chapters, but I wish it was more. The story has an interesting background and main characters (Liv and Finn), which kept me invested and turning pages. My only criticism is the interaction with the minor characters when they find Liv and Finn - if they aren't really friends and haven't seen each other in so long, why do the minor characters care what they are doing, and why do Liv and Finn care what the they think? All in all, a good start. I'm looking forward to reading the entire book when it comes out.

This sneak peek was enough to have me asking questions "what happened to the characters after high school?" There is a great build up around the mystery of Finn's life and more so having reunited with Liv and his classmates for the documentary.
I'm interested.

I am SO looking forward to this book. I have to be honest: I'm not big on tragedy in romance, so I was a little wary of this book even though I ADORE Roni Loren. But although the premise of this book is depressing and there is a ton of angst in this excerpt, I was enthralled. I immediately latched on to every character in the book. I empathized with their pain and trauma. The writing is, as always from this author, completely beautiful. It pulls you directly into the story.
Not only is there gorgeously written angst, but the chemistry between Liv and Finn is palpable. I wasn't sure how it'd be possible to make a romantic, sexy story out of such tragedy, but it completely worked. Chemistry is not an easy thing for a writer to achieve, even in fluffy romance, but it was pulled off perfectly here. I cannot WAIT to see where we go with Liv and Finn next. I have a weakness for high school sweetheart stories.
Upon finishing this sample, I immediately wanted to recommend the book to everyone I know. I messaged one of my friends before I'd even finished!

This was so good! I can't wait to read more of this book when it comes out. Literally so enthralling from the very first line. It was reminiscent of columbine but had its own story as well. I really enjoyed this!

Brilliant sneak peak... Has left me looking forward to the completed book!
