A very enjoyable and engrossing read. The twisty plot is quite different and original for a murder mystery which made it even more enjoyable.

Fascinating storyline although I mostly skipped the parts that were TV interviews. The ending I did not see coming and certainly left me with my mouth open in utter disbelief, a great twist that really left you wondering!!

A gripping read. Its always great to find a book that can totally immerse you with its intrigue and dramatic pacing. A very enjoyable read.

This is an addictive, thrilling and exciting novel with an original plot and believable characters. Very impressed and would definitely recommend!

I am currently buying books for the library at school and I greatly enjoyed this title. I like to buy a good spread of books from YA to non-fiction so that the young people read as diverse a group of books as possible. I feel like this book would be a challenging, interesting and unusual pick, that would certainly give the young people at my school a great deal to talk about at our next Book Speed Dating events. I will certainly be recommending it to our school librarian and can't wait to hear what the kids think of it too!

This was quite a good read and I enjoyed the suspense/ criminal theme in the book with the good character development.

I own a couple of Sophie Hannah books and I really enjoy them. She's great at creating suspense and I'd definitely say she's one of the best when it comes to crime thrillers! Crime thrillers aren't particularly my favourite genre now but I went through a phase of loving them, and this book reminds me why.

The story and pacing are spot on, and, when combined with characters that you truly care for, it had me on the edge of my seat. Will definitely be recommendeding this to some of my crime thriller-loving friends!

I really struggled to get through this one. I didn’t like the characters and thought it was irritating and over-the-top. This will probably be the last time I try to read this author; we just don’t get on.

An intriguing mystery which drags an unsuspecting Brit into an all-American investigation, this book has a different set up which aids the build up of suspense. The story is gripping and easy to read, attempting to play with your mind and what you think may or may not have happened. Although I wasn’t enamoured with the ending or some of the character development, I still thought this was a great mystery read for fans of the genre looking for something a little different.

Annoyingly this book has been in my tbr pile for a while and I’m now kicking myself for forgetting about it, man I wished I read this ages ago as I’ve so been missing out!
This book is totally worth a 2am finish! I did think to begin with that the plot of Clara running away to America seemed a little far fetched but then plot 2 stepped in and wow it didn’t disappoint. So many twists and turns I was gripped, to the the stent of my kindle powered down and I sat reading besides the socket with it plugged in charging just so I could keep reading. Just when you thought you knew or were beginning to work it out then bang another twist blows up. I would be shouting about this book to friends and family and it is a must read!!!!
Please tell me there is going to be a sequel.....:

Another reviewer summed up this book for me perfectly with the phrase "far fetched but fabulous". Cara Burrows has run away from her husband and children and spent some of their life savings on a stay at a five star resort in Arizona. Is this realistic? No. Do I care? Not in the slightest. Arriving in the middle of the night she is sent to the wrong room and walks in on the most famous girl in America, who should be dead. With the help of larger than life Tarin (who orders the police around like she's the president) they start to unravel the mystery of Melody's disappearance. This was a four star read for me but the last couple of pages bumped it up to five. A fun, fantastic read.

I give this book 3.5 stars. I found it a bit slow to get into and some bits did drag. On the plus side it was an unusual story not the normal murder type thriller. Also I would have liked the ending to go into what happened a little more then it did. An unusual read

So this story follows Cara who has ran away from home for some peace and quiet. Which to be honest I think that it is a slightly pathetic reason, but that's not really the story. Because Cara has to spend a lot of money and time to have a peace and I guess find herself. She end up finding more than she bargained for - mainly getting caught up in a secret that was too big for her.

This was the frist book that I have read by Sophie Hannah and it certainly will not be the last. This was an addictive, compelling read that was so twisty and unexpected I couldn't even comprehend what was happening until the very end.

Tarin was my favourite character. The best way to describe her is as a bit of a wildcard who doesn't hold back and speaks her mind.  She doesn't play by the rules and has some unorthodox methods to get the results she wants.

Did You See Melody? has the perfect pace and enough information to keep you occupied. This is a gripping read, that will take you by surprise.

This was an enjoyable and rather amusing book, with quite an unusual premise for a "murder mystery" But is it a murder mystery? Well, two people are in prison on life sentences for murder, although a body was never found and they were convicted by the court of public opinion in a trial conducted mainly by an unscrupulous and highly opinionated media queen. I really hope the US legal system isn't like this, although I suspect that some elements are drawn from real life. The contradictory banner "Melody Murder - call this number if you've seen her!" scrolling across viewers' screens was indeed laughable.- she was both a missing person and a murder victim within the same sentence.

There was a lot of superb characterisation in this book - some were strong and wilful, some weepy or needy, others passive, but all highly distinguishable and each one with a back story to tell, or secrets and relationships to maintain. Fellow resort guest Tarin Fry was a true overwhelming delight, a person you'd like to know, but only in very small doses.

The plot was constructed very well even though it contained some contrived incidents. I thought there was too much printed (or youtube transcription) detail on the original Melody case, and some of this seemed muddled and disordered. However, overall it was a clever and intriguing read, with an unexpected twist right at the end which left all previous assumptions suddenly open to a different interpretation.

This was my first book from Sophie Hannah , but I heard a lot about her and her Agatha Christie book.
Melody is missing presumed dead long time ago, in the present we see Carla traveled from uk to 5 stars American resort , trying to clear here head from her own problems, she stumbled on stuff that make her doubt the missing of melody and her parents subsequent guilt verdict .
The book goes back and forward telling you the story of dispperance of melody, and the media frenzy after that.
I hated the report and disliked most of the characters( which is good, any novel that makes me feel anything is plus). Carla was the only one I liked, and Tina of course.
Tarin fry , loved this woman, very clever one.
The only thing is there was a lot of characters ,I couldn't keep count.
but the twist at the end was great surprise.

I wish I enjoyed Sophie Hannah's books more than I do. She has interesting premises and there's often a twist in the story that you can't see. However she doesn't write likeable characters. I don't mind disliking characters if I empathise with them but Cara, the 'heroine' of the story, is unsympathetic in the extreme. She leaves her family and goes halfway across the world for a reason she divulges later, to a spa so exotic and outrageously luxurious I didn't believe in it. I didn't believe in the story, either. I won't give away any spoilers, suffice to say that unwittingly Cara stumbles across a young girl whose disappearance and presumed murder shocked America.

It's not a bad story, but I couldn't suspend my disbelief. I found myself reading it with one eyebrow raised and because I couldn't believe in the story, nor the setting, I couldn't engage with it. I wouldn't tell anyone else not to read this, but I would not reread this either.

I enjoyed reading this novel, I thought that it was a very easy and intriguing read. I loved the mystery and thought the ending was very good. It did remind me of afternoon mystery drama on the television. I have only read a couple of books by this author and I would definitely read more.

The premise of this book looked intriguing with lots of twists and turns ahead of my I was excited to request. Unfortunately, this was not a novel for me. Even for the first few chapters I really struggled to care about the protagnoist, in short I found her to be irritating, selfish and a bit stupid. With this in mind trying to carry on the novel with her perspective wasn't working for me and I did not finish. I'm sure some fans would like this but it just wasn't for me!

My favourite part and the only good aspect of the book personally is the ending. By that i mean literally the last 3% of the novel.
