What isn't there to love about a Holly Martin book!

Spring at Blueberry Bay had me hook line and sinker and in typical fashion i devoured this book in one sitting. The perfect mix of fun, love and laughter and a bit of sizzle! This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that will pull at your heart strings.

Holly is an incredibly amazing writer. Her books are just magic and you just can't help but fall in love with all of her characters, they are always relatable and down to earth.

A lovely story about never judging on first looks. Bella invites Isaac, who is homeless, in- and opens up a new world for both of them. It's a good read,

Holly Martin has to be one of my favourite romance authors, if not my absolute favourite. Reading one of her books is like sitting down with a good friend and knowing that you're going to have a fantastic reunion. This book is no exception to that rule.

Feeling unloved and unwanted, Bella doesn't think that she'll ever get a happy ending or her Mr Right, after all, her own parents didn't want her. Maybe a homeless man and a new job have the potential to change everything.

All of the characters feel like friends you can't wait to revisit. This is a funny, gorgeous book to curl up with and enjoy.

After having read a few other Holly Martin books, I have discovered that her writing style and books are not for me unfortunately.

I found this uninteresting and slow moving. I didn't connect with any of the characters nor the setting.

Another brilliant book by Holly Martin. Easy to read, funny, it is just shame, that the book wasn't longer.

I am relatively new to Holly Martin's novels as I only discovered her towards the end of last year. And I am pleased to be back with her and the characters she writes about and the places she sets her novels.

Novels often can be described as transporting you to another place, Holly Martin's novels should be at the very top of this category.

Bella lives on Hope Island, an island which is part of the Scilly Isles and it is a place where everyone knows your business, whether you try to hide it or not. In the case of Bella, everyone knows she lived with her aunt and uncle because her mother abandoned her and she was unintentionally caught up in a fraud case in her previous work.

Bella trusts few people despite her seemingly happy outgoing look on life. She really is only close to the family that she grew up with, including Rome and Eden her brother and sister. She cannot let anyone in.

Down on her luck and having to live on porridge, she still finds time to help a homeless man, she finds on her doorstep. Blunt with him as she literally has no money, she offers the next best thing, a bowl of porridge and her sofa for the night. Trouble is Isaac is not who he says he is and it turns out that helping someone can lead to all sorts of problems and some rather interesting situations.

Isaac is back home, he wants to come back to where people like him for who he is and not because he has money and can perhaps help them further their careers. Bella does not know who he is now and they clearly have some sort of chemistry growing between them but Isaac needs to tell her the truth before she make a complete fool of herself.

Something that Bella does a lot as the book goes on, but actually it is not making a fool of herself, it is so sweetly endearing and lovely that you cannot help but smile, because somehow she picks herself up and turns the whole situation around. Not to say that I didn't smile to myself as our feisty Bella sitting in a job interview in a green bridesmaid dress with her assets on show!

Bella manages to pick Isaac up when tragedy strikes and she shows him that you perhaps need very little in life to survive. Isaac shows her what love can and should be like. Bella is trying to resist but misunderstandings continue through the novel and you wonder if perhaps Isaac just hasn't got the strength to fight against Bella's determination not to fall in love and break down the walls.

This book has everything in equal measure and plenty more. I laughed, I cried and I even confess to dreaming about my own Isaac, sweeping me off my feet. The book completely took me away to Hope Island, and its scenery and residents, and the wonder that is Holly Martin's writing.

Spring at Blueberry Bay is the first story in Holly Martin's Hope Island series. Bella Roussel is down on her luck but fortunate to be surrounded by loving family. Trying to keep the dire nature of her circumstances from her family, Bella has been living on porridge waiting for an interview that could lead to her dream job. When she arrives home after having volunteered at a local animal shelter she finds a homeless man crouched by her wall.

Not one to turn away someone in need, after speaking with the young man Bella invites him in for dinner and allows him to shower. Bella is open, friendly, and just a bit naive. The fellow she mistakes as Zach is actually Isaac Scott the CEO of the nonprofit organization to help the homeless Umbrella Foundation. This is the foundation Bella is interviewing with for the position of fundraising events manager. This foundation is dear to Isaac's heart and he has been funding its operations through his two very profitable technology companies. A ploy he uses when hiring for the foundation is to go undercover to see how the prospects would treat a homeless person. No one has ever treated him so kindly before. In fact, he has never met anyone quite like Bella, and that could mean trouble.

In a lovely story of new opportunities and second chances, Holly Martin weaves a heartfelt tale. Set on the fictional Hope Island in the Scilly Isles off the coast of Cornwall, the scenery is so well described you can almost smell the sea air. This is yet another great offering by Ms. Martin and I do recommend this book

I absolutely loved this sizzling, summer read. It's funny and endearing and the pace doesn't let up. Bella is our heroine and Isaac is our hero. They meet when Bella, down to her last two bowls of porridge, invites homeless Isaac (Zach) to stay in her house for the night. It turn out he is the millionaire chairman of the charity that Bella has a job interview with. Confused? It's actually quite easy to follow for a brilliant story!

I really enjoyed this book and found it very easy to read and to connect to the characters. The sign of a good book for me is when the descriptions are so good, you can picture them.

A really nice storyline and different to what I was expecting . Bella, the main character was lovely to read about and you can understand why she has trust issues.

I've read some of the author's previous books and haven't been disappointed so was happy to see she has written other books in the series focussing on other characters mentioned in this book.

If you have a stressful week, or the kids are driving you crazy, Spring at Blueberry Bay is the perfect book to get lost in.

Bella is out of a job and almost completely out of money. But when she sees a homeless man, she can't stop herself from helping him. She invites him into her house to sleep for the night, and they find themselves instantly attracted to each other.

As Bella learns more about Isaac, her life continues to change for the better. So why can't she trust it?

This book is full of good people, doing the right thing, and getting rewarded for it. Why can't life be like this every day? It's totally unrealistic, unabashedly chick lit, and completely enjoyable.

I love Holly Martin's books and this one didn't disappoint. I read it in two days, I couldn't put it down! I love her style of writing and how it flows. I will admit when I read the back of the book with her letting in a homeless man to her home I thought it would be an unrealistic storyline and a bit far fetched but she put her normal twists in it! I laughed out loud and could have cried at some points in the story, a success from Holly again. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and can't wait for the other in the series to come out. Thank you for letting me read and review this book, look forward to reading the next installment!

"Welcome to beautiful Hope Island where the sea sparkles, the daffodils are blooming and a blossoming romance is just around the corner…

Bella has always had a sunny outlook and caring nature, despite recently falling on hard times. When she finds a handsome homeless man on her doorstep, her kind heart tells her she must help him. So, she invites Isaac into her cottage and into her life in ways she could never have imagined…

But Isaac is not what he seems. He’s keeping a huge secret from Bella, yet he never expected to fall for this open, generous and charming woman.

Bella can’t ignore the chemistry between her and Isaac, but she’s had her trust badly broken in her past. Will she run when she learns the truth about Isaac, or will he be the one man who can help Bella believe in love again? "

Rating: 5/5

I was so excited to get a review copy of the first of Holly Martin's new 'Hope Island' series, called Spring at Blueberry Bay. I love Holly's stories because they are always full of romance, characters to love and stories that leave you with a huge smile on your face. That was certainly the case with this story, it could certainly be one of my favourite books yet, no mean feat, believe me. Bella lives on Hope Island, and after a recent scandal at work, she's desperately hunting a new job, knowing a bad reputation may be following her around. When she finds the perfect job, the interview is slightly different to what she expected, especially as she knows the manager Isaac, and he hasn't been exactly honest with her. Can Bella forgive his deception, or has Isaac made too big a mistake to fix?

I loved the setting of Hope Island right from the beginning. I felt like I was really getting into the place in my mind as I was reading, imagining the village centre, the houses, the beautiful bay - it sounded idyllic, and Holly's settings are always somewhere that I love reading about. Bella's houses sounded delightful, and I can see why she wasn't so keen to leave there, despite her own financial hardship. The descriptions were beautifully written, it was a joy to read because of this. I don't want to say too much about Bella and her job opportunity and what happens with Isaac, as I loved that being revealed as I read the story, but the story was thoroughly enjoyable.

The characters in the book are perfect, and every single one of them was vital for the book, from the main ones like Bella and Isaac, to the more minor villagers, and Bella's family. I looked forward to reading about all of them as they popped up, and it's nice knowing there's more of them to come in the next book set here. Bella was a brilliant character, and I could understand her reluctance to befriend Isaac after his deception, even though his heart was in the right place. I was willing for her to open up her heart though and let him in, they seemed like they would be a perfect couple. Isaac seemed like the perfect man too; handsome, has strict morals, a kind heart, rather wealthy and open to love.

The stories that Holly Martin writes are always so positive, have lovely happy endings that warm your heart, and love stories that make you swoon. Although you can predict how it's going to end, it simply doesn't matter because they are so wonderful to read, and you simply want the best for these characters. I also love when Holly writes a series because you know you'll be seeing these characters again and finding out what they are up to next and if things have stayed as happy as you hoped! This was brilliant to read from beginning to end, I couldn't put it down each evening, it was that good! I hope Holly Martin continues to write stories for many years to come as I simply wouldn't want to be without them!

Homelessness does not seem like a very likely topic for a romantic comedy, but despite an unusual beginning this is a funny, uplifting read. It is a perfect summer holiday book which makes you long sunny days and golden beaches.

I am a huge Holly Martin fan and this latest release was no different and was a fantastic read. The only criticism I had was that this leans slightly more towards Bonkbuster type books than her normal fairytale romances. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, it was just a slight departure that I wasn't quite prepared for! This latest tale introduces us to Bella. Bella lives on Hope Island and when she arrives home one day to find a homeless man on her doorstep, she does the unthinkable and lets him in to her house. It turns out the man Bella has let into her home named Isaac is not quite what she thinks, but when you see how Bella's nature is (slightly vulnerable and maybe a wee bit too kind-hearted) you can see why she would have done it.

Bella is at a bit of a crossroads and is trying to secure a new job as an Events Fundraiser and you can't help rooting for her. Her subsequent interview was very amusing and certainly made for an entertaining chapter! I loved the fact that as Bella's story progressed that we got to learn of her family and how she got to where she currently is. I especially loved her extended family such as Erin and Rome and would certainly love to read nore about them.

It's hard to go into too much detail with the soryline because it would essentially be a plot spoiler for everybody. What I will say is that this was certainly another great read by Holly Mertin and I can almost picture the Island. I liked the storyline and characters but maybe this just wasn't quite as exceptional as some of her other reads, this author is far too much of a genius storyteller for her own good :-)
