I adored this book. It made me
feel all warm and fuzzy ! An easy read that would be perfect for a beach holiday, whilst lazing on a sun lounger sipping a cocktail 🍹

For me reading a book by Holly Martin means that I will spend a lovely time. I am never disappointed by her books, never. The settings of her book are always nice and charming as well as the characters. And this time around with "Spring at Blueberry Bay" I was not disappointed. I loved the storyline, the character of Bella is very nice but a bit too complicated for me. I wanted to shake her and make her see and make her see what she has and what she could have. This is why I only put a 3 stars to this lovely book, because I found Bella a bit too childish to my taste and that made the story a bit too childish as well. But I can't wait to read the next book of Holly Martin! They are always a hit for me! :-)

Bella has been abandoned by her parents as a kid. She is also very broke. But when she finds a homeless man, Isaac on her doorstep, she takes him in and shares her last meal with him. What Bella doesn't know is that Isaac is lying to her and is not who he seems to be.
I can't say more without giving too much of the story away but if you've read Holly Martin's other books then you probably will be able to predict the story. This book reminded me of Holly Martin's other books so at first, I wasn't really interested. It just seemed like a story that was told one too many times before. However I love Holly Martin's writing so I pushed though and I'm glad that I did. Bella and Isaac are an adorable couple. It pissed me off that he lied to her but I eventually got over it. I loved their chemistry in this book and was really sad once it was over. Like all Holly Martin books, this one is full of colourful characters and I cannot wait to read more. I've developed an attachment to Bella's cousins and would love to see them all get their happy endings

Overall an enjoyable read. The only thing that got a little tiresome was how mean the gossip was on the little island, and how she could stay so happy considering the mean spirited people around her, whether at the job or the restaurant. Other than that though, I enjoyed the romance and the ways Isaac took to judge applicants for a new position. Clever. A fun summer read, and one I highly recommend.

light-hearted romantic story. I enjoyed this book. A feel good story with likeable characters, lovely dogs and an idyllic setting.
Bella hasn't had an easy family life and this affects her relationships. We join her on a real rollercoaster of emotions as she gets to know Isaac. Isaac is the perfect hero - handsome, kind and funny. Their chemistry is steamy in places.
The book has many funny moments which made me laugh and also some heartfelt moments.
I recommend this easy read - perfect for a sunny day or holiday. I am looking forward to Holly's next book.

At first, Bella's sheer altruism and saintliness got on my nerves - how can anyone be that nice??? But then she started to grow on me, so much so that this book took over my life and wouldn't let me stop reading until I finished it (I need to apologise to my hubby at this point...)

Don't expect a sweet, easy love story from Ms Martin; this is a passionate, intense and sometimes raunchy read. The heat level is above what I normally go for, or anticipate, in a chick lit, but the sex scenes aren't gratuitous, and they slot into the story with ease. The build up of the MCs' relationship was really well done, and the characters themselves are nicely portrayed.

I laughed my socks off at the interview scene - but what's worse is that I'm actually thinking about giving Bella a call next time I apply for another job!

Bella is a character that you will wish you were friends with or related to because she is a truly wonderful person. Isaac has a hard time convincing her he deserves a chance with her after some of his shenanigans. I loved this sweet story and how it all came together. Holly Martin’s stories are the kind that tug at your heartstrings and you just can’t put them down.

Bella is in need of a job, yesterday even when her last position as an events coordinator evaporated spectacularly, and unfortunately she’s been tarred with the unreliable, untrustworthy brush. She’s one of those wholly competent people in the workforce, intelligent, strong and loyal, but her own personal issues make her personal life a bit of a mess, and her pride all too often gets in her way. When she’s decided to fuel her giving side by working for a charity that works with the homeless, she’s set up the interview when a series of unfortunate and rather fortuitous events start to happen.

Not long after setting the appointment, she discovers a homeless man at her front gate. Now, she’s got no money for food, no prospects at the moment, but feels that offering the man a place to stay for the night is the right thing to do. The two converse and while the attraction is mutual, there are secrets and surprises. While the homeless man leaves the next morning, he finds himself returning and acting on his attraction: only to have his own conscience send him packing. See, the homeless man is Isaac, a wealthy man and CEO of the foundation to which Bella has applied. His own experiences have him skeptical about the people he encounters, but Bella is so genuine and real, he can’t help but want her in his life.

Oh the twists and turns here: both Bella and Isaac make mistakes and allow their own trust issues to affect their lives in ways that could be so tragic, had they happened with someone else. Bella, after being dumped at her Aunt and Uncle’s house as a child, has always felt unlovable and unable to ask for help: financial, emotional or just general familial acceptance. Isaac’s issues were in the subterfuge: while the reasoning was logical, when Bella arrived for her interview (a serious LOL moment) he should have come clean as the “homeless” man outside her gates. But, he’s perseverating and putting it off – and this issue could have sent them both to opposite corners……

Fortunately for Isaac, Bella is a wonderfully generous woman, and forgiving, and I am sure that the connection that sparked between them helped to keep them talking, and allowed the reality of their suitability to come forward. It’s hard to dislike Isaac even with the deception, but his encouragement and support for Bella, even in the simplest moments, showed his good intentions and heart – and kept me glued to the pages as I watched their relationship grow. Truly a wonderful story full of laughter, love and heat, and a perfect introduction to Holly Martin’s writing. Grab this one today – you won’t be disappointed.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I picked up this book on a recommendation from a Goodreads friend and am I glad I did. I needed a feel good read and this fit the bill and more. This is a romance that has it all, great characters, a good story, lust, sex, family drama, new beginnings and a great setting.

Bella is a young woman who is down on her luck. She has no money for food or rent. She is eating porridge for every meal. She lost her job when the charitable organization she worked for shut down due to the founders embezzling funds. Unfortunately she has a questionable cloud over her, even though she had nothing to do with it. She was abandoned by her parents at a very young age and feels she is completely unlovable. She has erected walls around herself to keep safe from falling for any man, until Issac walks into her life.

Bella has applied for a job as the events coordinator for the Umbrella Organization. Issac, the CEO and founder, has a unique way of testing his applicants for the job. He dresses as a homeless man and meets them at their homes to see how they respond. Bella, with a heart of gold, not only offers to help him, but invites him in to shower, eat and spend the night on her couch. They begin to talk and Issac finds out what a giving, smart, fun person Bella is. Of course, she does not have any idea who this man is. When she finds out, sparks fly. I do not want to say anymore about the story because you need to read it and learn about their story on your own, it will draw you right in.

The setting of the small island where everyone knows everyone else's business is great. It seems everywhere Bella goes she either runs into someone she knew from school, or someone is asking her about something going on in her life before she has even told anyone. Her family, aunt, uncle, and cousins, who she lived with and that raised her, are great. They love her like she is a daughter and sister and they are the only ones she trusts and loves. There are introductions of other characters, who I hope will be the love interests of Eden and Rome in further books in this series, and I am looking forward to them. This book will make a wonderful summer/beach/poolside read. Pick it up, you won't regret it. Caution: sex scenes

A truly fun read! I've read several books by this author and she is fast becoming one of my favorites. First, I will read anything that has water/a beach/pretty cover. Or, at least, I will try them. However, this one is a winner from start to finish! I especially loved the characters, including the dog. This book has everything; laughter, tears, great story and great characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read and provide an honest review of "Spring at Blueberry Bay."

Holly Martin's books are always enjoyable, but I found that I fell in love with this story a little bit more! Holly's writing is elegant and the whole story is really beautifully written. It follows Bella, who just lost her job as a charity events manager, and who lives in the cutest cottage on Hope Island (I know, what a cute name!).

Bella, who wears her heart on her sleeve, came home one day to find good-looking homeless man Isaac sitting right outside her front door. Wanting to help him out, Bella invites him to stay the night in her home. Whilst Isaac is there, Bella notices a strong chemistry between them and wants him to stay. However, Isaac has a hiding a big secret from Bella and after finding out what that secret is for herself, Bella wishes she never let Isaac into her home that night. As the story goes on however, Isaac and Bella's relationship changes and soon they realise they have fallen for each other.

The story of Bella and Isaac is a beautiful love story that I really enjoyed. Although there is a bit of naughtiness between them described in the book, there isn't too much or and it isn't overwhelming. At some points in the book I actually felt myself getting a bit emotional in regards to their relationship! All the characters in the book are lovely and their relationships are described really nicely, making them seem like the perfect family to be a part of. There are twists and turns throughout this book that makes it a really interesting read.

I really did enjoy this story and if you're a fan of Holly Martin's other novels, then you will to! The cover is absolutely stunning and is really inviting.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy for this book in return of an honest review.

4 - "My burning light in the darkness." Stars!

Holly Martin took me away for an enjoyable adventure on Hope Island, with Spring at Blueberry Bay, filled with sweeping views, charming characters and more than a few giggles along the way, Bella and Isaac’s story was one that I found hard to put down.

IMAGE.

It’s been a while since I have read any of Holly’s books and I was taken back to the joy I experienced when I read The GuestBook, and One Hundred Proposals although Spring at Blueberry Bay didn’t quite reach the stratosphere of awesomeness that those two stories hit, it came a close second for me.

"I rather wish the path that led me to here had never happened because it’s something I can’t undo…"

The crux of the book is basically boy-meets-girl, but Holly manages to take the normal and turn it into the unique with the little extras she adds to the tale and the unusual situations the characters find themselves in with its telling. I loved Isaac, if ever there was a man that went out on a limb for the woman he was falling in love with it was this guy, having been hurt in the past due to who he is, made putting his heart out there to be trampled on again a real act of courage, I won’t say I liked the way Holly tied up this aspect of the story between him and Bella, but she didn’t drag it out so I didn’t have chance to get annoyed with it.

"You have me under your spell… I want to spend every single second with you."

Bella was a harder sell, for the most part I did warm to her, and I understood that her childhood had a massive impact on her adult relationships, but at times I did find her actions and reactions to be bordering on the juvenile in the way they were written and how she verbalized her thoughts and feelings. That-said though there were nuggets of gold in her character, in that she was shamelessly free with her affection, not in a slutty way, but in that she wasn’t scared to let Isaac know how much she felt for him, even if truth be told she didn’t really understand it herself. Her escapades bought more than a few giggles to the fore as well, because if there was a chance her plans could go wrong, chances are the author made sure it was spectacularly so, and with hilarious consequences.

We are also introduced to many of the Hope Island residents in the telling of this story as well as Rome and Eden, Bella’s siblings, and the author did a really good job of teasing the reader with titbits about both of them and whom their potential love interest may be. Summer at Buttercup Beach is due for release at the end of June, so thankfully we won’t have long to wait for Rome to have his story told.

Another big hug in a book from Holly and something to easily get you in the mood for the summer

I have enjoyed and recommend all of Holly’s books. They are relaxing, light-hearted romances and enjoyable whether you are on holiday or on your commute to work. The reason I enjoy them is because even though each story is different, you know the end result will be a Happily Ever After and we will need one of those from time to time.

I think that Holly’s descriptions of the destinations are a major plus for all of the books – I personally feel that the way she writes makes you want to visit the travel agent, book a holiday and go and explore the place for yourself.

In this particular booked I liked all the characters but found Bella started to annoy me and in some places it started to become a little repetitive because of her trust issues hence why I am only going to give it 4 stars.

This was a welcome change after the thrillers I have been reading recently and I was fortunate to receive a free copy from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

If you enjoy easy going romances with a touch of humour and haven’t tried one of Holly’s books then you really should. My particular favourites are the White Cliff Bay series.

Review: Wow, where do I start. This is a fantastic story. I loved it. A lovely setting, amazing characters, romance and laugh and loud moments one of the best books I have read in a while. I love Sarah Morgan's novels and this is right up there with them.

Bella despite falling on difficult times still managers to put others before herself and helps a homeless guy find food and shelter. Unknowingly changing her future forever. As they begin to get to know each other things get complicated very quickly. Around the main plot there are some other amazing characters that you gain a glimpse into their lives, which they themselves wold also make great main characters for example Bella's brother and sister do they end up getting their happy ending.

Holly has written a wonderful novel, creating moments where you cannot help but laugh and moments were you just swoon. The characters are memorable, the setting is just perfect and in one of my favourite parts of the world too.

I fell in love with this book and cannot wait for Holly's next great novel. I you like a good lol, romantic chic flick then you are in for a treat.

DNF at 11%.

This was just so saccharine sweet that I could feel my fillings ache as I was reading, I know that 11% isn't really giving the story a chance but I couldn't face reading any more.

Bella Roussel lives on tiny Hope Island. She worked as an events manager for a charity called Magic Wishes but it transpired that her boss was stealing from the charity and Bella has been tarred by association, despite being exonerated by the Police investigation, she has been unemployed for three months. Despite the fact that she has a brother and sister who would help her (and indeed offer to do so frequently) and she rents her house from her uncle, she has resorted to living off porridge and has sold off most of her possessions. Despite that, she continues to help her elderly neighbours, volunteer for worthy causes, wants to adopt an unwanted dog and invites a homeless man to stay the night in her spare room (and eat her last bowl of porridge).

Of course, the homeless man is actually Isaac Scott the wealthy head of a charity called the Umbrella Foundation which helps the homeless. Bella has applied for a job with the Umbrella Foundation and Isaac makes it a point to test new applicants' commitment to helping the homeless by observing their reactions when confronted by a homeless person on their doorstep. He is totally blown away by Bella's attitude, she is clearly one step away from being destitute herself but is kind enough to give way what little food she has to a complete stranger and offer him a bed for the night.

Bella was just such a Mary Sue I couldn't face reading further, I totally expected her to have a step-mother and two ugly sisters, or at least have bluebirds flying around her head as she tripped around Hope Island.

Sorry, maybe it got more realistic later but I had the sinking feeling that she might start thanking the one true lord for her daily bread at any second. Not for me. Be warned by the "utterly perfect feel good romantic comedy" tagline.
