I love the stories in this book: within each story, a teaching relating to healing and the human condition. A point that struck me was how some of the "mental illnesses" modern medicine has decided to diagnose as were simply difficulities of another kind. It is a timely reminder that humans are disconnected from nature.
I was initially afraid that books of this kind would be dry but it was not. Itzhak Beery showed great wisdom in the method of his instructions.

I loved reading this book! It is broken into 4 sections: 1st is the Author's journey to becoming a Shaman, 2nd is explaining Shamanic Healing, 3rd Healing Teachings, Ceremonies & Techniques & 4th Healing Stories. As a nurse, in Western Medicine, I have always been fascinated with Shamanic Healing. This book gave me a lot of great basic information & I really enjoyed reading the healing stories. I am left wanting to read & learn even more about Shamanic Healing. I loved the author's passion for Shamanic Healing!

Loved this book. A wonderful mixture of instructions, case studies and stories from the authors extensive experience. I thought the level of detail was just right and I really enjoyed reading about his authentic experiences and the places and people that have shared their knowledge. The best thing is that there are things you can take from this book and actually apply to your life. Great book - and much needed at this time in the world.
