This is the type of book that surprises you because it does give you what it says, but in a very unexpected and untypical way.
I enjoyed the way this was written and how the author shares his story without trying to push the reader into his own way of thinking, but rather shares his way to show one way of going at it.
Defiantly inspirational and wroth a try!

The best stories, in my opinion, are seldom straight lines. This story is anything but a straight line. I expected constant rallies of triumph and victory, but what Steve Finn provides in this volume is far more interesting than that.
Walking through Steve Finn's life journey to establish a home for troubled boys was like joining his family for a little while. He goes beyond dispersing facts as they led up to him trying to see a dream come true. He grows as a person, as a leader, and as a man of faith. At times, you're certain he's going to fail. (At times, I'm positive that he was sure of that.) His response of patience and prayer, refusing to allow panic to rule the day, was inspiring to me. His was more than a noble undertaking, it was a walk of spiritual formation that surely will bleed over into my own.
I appreciate people who achieve victory but still hold tightly to their defeats, striking a balance of humility that creates the best among us. This story weaves that through story and Bible narrative, inviting the reader to participate in the growth that Steve himself encountered. This book is many things: a manual for servant leaders, a man's life story, a vision fulfilled. Above all, it is a hint of what we can become if we keep our focus on God and don't yield to fear.

I so enjoyed learning about how God inspired Steve Flinn, who in 2016 was recognized as one of the top three leaders in the country by the John C. Maxwell Leadership Award committee.

A nearly impossible idea that began as a seed became, after many years, Chestnut Mountain Ranch, a 225-acre school and home for troubled boys that is located in one of the poorest and highest drug use areas of the U.S.

But the book is not solely about how Chestnut Mountain Ranch came to be. It's also an inspiring road map for any person of faith who feels he or she is being called to execute an idea, no matter how big or small, that can be accomplished only with God's oversight. And that's all of us, isn't it?

Each of the book's eight chapters focuses on a tool that Steve used. Tools include the need to refine the idea, to gather a team, to develop patience, discipline, perseverance, wisdom and perspective.

He gives examples about how each tool was used in scripture. Then he discusses how he applied the tool to the development of Chestnut Mountain Ranch.

In all, it was a very inspiring book.

Seed to Vision
How God Inspired Ideas Become Reality

I am reviewing a copy of Seed to Vision through New Hope Publishers and Netgalley:
Seed to Vision not only remimds us that we can turn God inspired ideas and dreams into reality.
When Steve was ages eleven to thirteen cancer entered there life, changing his Father, in physical ways reducing him, but in spiritual manners his Father grew perhaps knowing the end was coming soon. On nights his Father found himself unable to sleep he would come and sit on the edge of his Son's bed, and reminded them not every child was as blessed as they were, not all children had families.
He goes on to tell about he and his wife being housparents at Eagle Ranch when they felt the call to do something more.
This book reminds us that God gives us seeds and with work we can choose too work those seeds and turn them into visions.
I give Seed to Vision five out of five stars.
Happy Reading!
