Another great entry in the X-Ops Series! Trevor, a shifter, is trying to find out who killed his mentor and boss. He doesn't know who to trust so when he gets a new partner, Alina, he's guarded. Alina was with the CIA when a mission got her whole team killed so she's still looking for the person who betrayed them. Trevor and Alina have to work together and learn to trust each other or they aren't going to survive. Great romantic suspense with a paranormal twist.

I didn't expect Alina to be a good partner for Trevor. Part of it due to her past with the CIA, part of it due to Dick wanting her to spy on Trevor and report back to him. It was a good thing that Alina quickly caught on and who realized who the good guys were and who the bad guys were.

It was interesting watching Alina and Trevor start to trust each other, to actually work together and for her to be pulled into the larger game of who was subverting the DCO. I thought that part would have been drawn out longer, but I was happy that with this book we got resolution on that. Was happy with how things happened, happy that those that needed to be killed were, happy that those hidden could come out in public again. Things are once again changing at the DCO, hopefully for the better, but I'm not sure. With the last chapter looks like once again those behind the scenes have their own agenda. One thing for sure it will be interesting to see how things shake out.

I love this shifter series. I missed one or two somewhere because I didn't know some of the goings on but that being said, it is something you can pick up really quickly. Trevor is one of the few shifters left at the DCO. When he is teamed up with a new partner, an obvious spy for the 'other side', he isn't a happy camper. The attraction between the two is obvious but neither trusts the other.
I really like Trevor. He has a tough guy attitude and a soft heart. The whole crew that I've grown to love through the series makes an appearance. I was heartbroken at the beginning with what all had happened but so glad that the characters I love are still there. Alina is still determined to catch the one who betrayed her and her team but she isn't sure what is going on at the DCO. She and Trevor, of course, are majorly attracted to each other but neither thinks they can trust the other so they keep things they should share to themselves. There is a lot of underhanded stuff going on and I couldn't read this quick enough. I liked the ending where it set it up for future books. I absolutely look froward to more from this author!
It was a 4/5 for me. I must go back and find the one(s) I missed and can't wait for more!

Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

In Paige Tyler latest book in her X-OPS series, Her Dark Half. Trevor is on the hunt for the person who’s responsible for killing the Director of DRCO. But before he can close in on the enemy, who's also one step ahead, has plotted to eliminate all the shifters.

Paige Tyler has hit another one out of the park with Her Dark Half. The plot flowed seamlessly, with the chemistry between Trevor & Alina very believable.
As always the other characters from the previous books make an appearance.

Her Dark Half, have you asking for more.

I somehow found myself jumping into the X-Ops series of paranormal romances with book eight. Luckily, since each book focuses on one couple, I wasn't at all lost. Alina Bosch is a former CIA agent who has been hired by the DCO (Department of Covert Operations) and told by her boss that she is being partnered with Trevor Maxwell who the director believes is a traitor to the organization.

Trevor Maxwell is a coyote shifter who is certain that his boss was complicit in the death of the former boss and Trevor's friend. Trevor is hanging around the organization only to find out who killed his friend and bring them to justice. He is sure that Alina has been hired to spy on him. The situation is perfectly set up to have the two of them really distrust each other. They do gradually learn to trust each other and fall in love too.

Meanwhile the bigger plot is becoming more clear. The man who is the head of the organization is trying to create hybrid shifters loyal only to him. He's more than willing to leave a string of bodies behind as the formula to create the hybrids is perfected. He is also guilty of a number of murders besides that of Trevor's friend.

Many of the characters in earlier books in the series make cameos in this one (based on blurbs of the other books) but the main focus is on Alina and Trevor. The romantic scenes are nicely spicy but not kinky. The action comes fast and furious as both Alina and Trevor confront their separate enemies.

Fans of spicy paranormal romantic suspense will enjoy this one.

A series I can't get at my library to catch up to read this, so this is a no go!

The end of Her True Match, the previous book in the X-Ops series, was really a game changer. In many ways Her Dark Half is as well. The DCO, the covert government agency in which the series is set, will look very different in the next book. But in this one, it's the agency's focus that's different. While most of the previous books have involved tracking down rogue shifters and the labs that created them, Her True Match is all about solving a murder.

Most of the teams, the couples from previous books, have gone into hiding, accused of conspiracy and murder. That leaves Trevor behind to solve the mystery alone. (His new partner won't be much help if she's spying on him for their boss.) I thought this was a little odd because Trevor's always been out in the field in previous books. He's not a regular agent, but a counterintelligence specialist, so this mission may not really be in his wheelhouse.

There was a twist in the mystery that I knew was coming even before I started the book and one character's resolution that just didn't feel right, but I really enjoyed the book nonetheless. I'm a big fan of enemies-to-lovers romances and I loved Trevor and Alina together. I also like that it seems to be setting up Tanner's book next and that story feels like it's been a long time coming.

I'm really enjoying the X-Ops series and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes after all the recent changes.

This was my first Paige Tyler book. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the Paranormal aspect, but it was a good book!

Her Dark half by Paige Tyler is the next book in her hybrid shifter series. Trevor is on a mission to find who killed his friend and boss. Alaina is paired with him to spy on him. What she doesn't know is Her new partner is a good guy. Alaina soon realizes Trevor is a good guy and falls for him.
Another wonderful addition to the series! Highly recommend action, adventure and romance! You can't put it down once you start.

Well, I have to admit: the X-OPS series kind of grows on you. Where I kind of liked Her Rogue Alpha, I was getting excited with Her True Match, but Her Dark Half just topped it. What I like best about this book is Alina. She's a strong, independent woman with serious trust issues. Not that you can blame her, after being nearly blown away during a covert CIA mission because of the betrayal of one of her team members. And holding your dearest colleague while she dies in your arms in the same day will leave some scars.

So when she gets a chance to help discover a traitor in the DCO team, she dives head first into the challenge. Little did she know that this supposed traitor was a hunky shifter guy, with a serious grudge. Meet Trevor Maxwell, coyote shifter with a temper. He is sure the assassination of his former DCO boss was an inside job. And he is quite convinced that someone at the top is pulling the strings. So when his is saddled with a new partner, he is convinced she is hired to lure him out.

But although their heads are telling them to mistrust the other, they can't deny the physical attraction. When not only sparks, but also bullets are flying, it is time to decide whom to trust. Will these partners cover each others back? Or will they turn on each other?

Find out in this very adventurous episode of X-OPS. Four out of five stars from me. And a special thank you to Netgalley and Casablanca books for the arc. And keep your eye out for Wolf Hunger, #7 in the SWAT series of Paige Tyler. Absolute yummie wolfs!

Freaking awesome book. It's very fast paced, suspenseful, sexy, and will keep you reading until the very end. I was hooked from the first page.
Alina was a CIA agent who's partner turned on her and her team. He killed them all but her. For the next few years she made it her mission to hunt him down. That is until DCO recruited her to keep on eye on her new partner, Trevor.
Trevor is a shifter and covert operator and has a sarcastic sense of humor. He doesn't trust his new partner but is attracted to her anyway. Trevor and the rest of the shifters ( who are in hiding) are trying to get the goods on the guy who killed their leader, John. The more time spent, the more they start to trust each other.
There is a lot of shooting, things blowing up, and a new breed of hybrids that are hard to kill. I believe this is my favorite so far.

I totally enjoyed this book! And no spoilers - but I liked the ending too - things wind up well but with a bit of a twist to keep you wanting more!

Strong finish to this part of the series can't wait to see where the author is going to lead us next! There was a lot going on in this story but I never felt lost. I felt their was plenty of insight into the main couple the story concentrated on even though scenes concerning characters from other stories were included which can be distracting in this case they just added texture to the story.
