I enjoyed Resilient a little more than I enjoyed the last book. I really loved Tank. He was so yummy and totally bad ass. I liked Nicole but she got on my nerves at times. I understood were she was coming from and why she didn't like bikers but she was too judgy at times. I did really like Tank and Nicole together. I felt that Tank handled Nicole well. He was good to her and treated her well but didn't take her crap. I really didn't like the way Jessica acted to Nicole. I felt she was kinda over the top but being a bride I got she was being the stereotypical bridezilla so I overlooked it. I really loved Brittany and Stitch. They made the book for me so, Gillian Archer ripped my heart out when she did something I never seen coming. I still feel like I'm kinda in shock over Britt and Stitch. Overall I really enjoyed Tank and Nicole's book. I am looking forward to more books by Gillian Archer.

Resilient is book 3 in the True Brothers MC series. There are some crossover story arcs so it might be best to read in order. The book starts with the wedding of a previous couple, Jessica and Zag. Nicole is Jessica's friend and she has a very strong hatred for bikers. She is a bit rude and condescending about it really.
You do learn Nicole's reasons for her strong feelings about bikers. She does have valid reasons from her past that make her cautious. However, I still thought her actions and comments were uncalled for and over the top at times. She is so judgmental of everyone-her mom, bikers, her friends. She just came off as a bit of a bitter person.
Tank was a likable character! He is a former Marine who has his own sad backstory. While he had issues with his ex, he didn't come off as judgmental as Nicole did about her past. He is very closed off though. These two just did everything in their power to make things difficult!
There is the drama and danger of other clubs that really propels the action after the 50% mark. It took a while to get into the suspense part of the story though. The first half focuses almost exclusively on setting up Nicole and Tank as characters, and as I mentioned, they were tough to relate to at times. So, I wasn't sure I was going to finish the book because I was struggling so much with Nicole. However, once the story got deeper into the danger and drama from OUTSIDE these 2, I was more involved.
True Brothers MC is not a 1% -er club, but the danger is from the nearby clubs who aren't so honest! They aren't boy scouts either, so don't worry-there is plenty of bad boys around! Resilient weaves the tale of 2 damaged souls finding each other despite their past and through the danger of club life.

I love an outlaw motorcycle club romance every now and again, and Gillian Archer’s Resilient fits the bill nicely. Nicole is not into bikers, but she finds herself very attracted to a biker, Tank. They find themselves in each other’s company during her best friend’s wedding festivities, because she is marrying a biker in Tank’s club. Although she swears she doesn’t want to get involved with Tank, she can’t resist and they have a night of steamy sex.
There’s no going back after that night, because both find themselves unable to quit each other. Tank is pure alpha and wants to protect and take care of Nicole. He falls hard and fast for her, but he has to get past her resistance to the biker lifestyle. His club is his family, and he doesn’t want to give them up. Resilient is entertaining and also has action and suspense, and I think readers will enjoy it.
ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.

This is not your typical MC biker series. There isn’t graphic violence and blood shed. It emphasizes that family isn’t just those blood related.
Nicole Walker has a family history no one knows about, including her two best friends. She is intelligent, mouthy, sassy, cusses like the bikers, outwardly self-confident and carries a huge chip on her shoulder when it comes to bikers. We don’t discover until much later in the book why she feels this way. She is the Queen of one and done. I didn’t like Nicole at the beginning, but as her character grows, we learn so much more about her and see her make positive changes.
Tank is a member of True Brothers MC. He is an ex-marine, protective, tall, muscled, alpha, with mild PTSD and a big heart. His ex-wife was a total nut job and he’s become the King of one and done.
Nicole’s two best friends are happily coupled with bikers. She doesn’t hesitate to let them know she thinks they’ve made poor choices or to show her disdain to any of the MC members. When she discovers how drawn she is to Tank, she decides one night shouldn’t be a problem. She’ll get it out of her system, right? These two fight their growing feelings and refuse to acknowledge it for over half the book, but we also see their relationship grow and develop. When they both realize/accept it, it is awesome. They are good together. Loved Stella.
I really wanted to see how Tank handled things with his sister. She was quite the bitch.
Holy crap! Really? Was that twist necessary? I actually cried and yelled out NOOOO!!!!!
This book has mild angst, suspense, mild violence and romance. The story flows well and characters are developed and interwoven. Can’t wait for the next installment!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

This book in the series was more like the first book in the series. I took longer to read because I was pestered by my kids to stop reading and do something with them! 🙃
I really liked Tank. He wasn't that picture perfect hero of the story. He had his issues, but just had a really big heart. I loved in the story how he just would say it like it is, but then just get all flustered with Nicole after. He was hot sexy and sweet, but still the king of the castle. My heart went out to him with his PTSD flashbacks.
I really didn't like Nicole at first, she based her view of people too much on her past and not just assume about the people in her present. She comes off snooty, but she is big enough to see the error of her ways and change. She definitely is a take no crap girl.
Got to hear about the couples from the other two books. There is lots of drama at the end for sure almost needed a tissue.
Good read enjoyed it.
Received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

I enjoy MC stories but dislike the ones that involve a lot of other women drama and wild parties where anything goes. I know nothing about real life inside a club but I know what I like and Gillian Archer’s True Brothers is what I like.
Nicole has been judgmental about the relationship her friends have with members of the local motorcycle club. She has a deep aversion to bikers and doesn’t hide that fact from anyone, not even the bikers themselves. So when things start to heat up between her and Tank, she decides to throw disdain to the side and enjoy him for one night. It’s just one night after all.
Tank struggles with memories of the war as well as the memory of his ex-wife and what she tried to do to him. He is not in a place, nor will he ever be, to settle down in a committed relationship again. When Nicole suggests one night but with the warning that he not expect more, he’s shocked. He’s the one who has to do the warning, not the women he spends the night with.
This couple have both been damaged by their pasts but together they work through their struggles in an adult and realistic manner. I loved that Nicole was sassy and snarky and that Tank fell for her, not in spite of it, but because of it. There was a fine line with her character where I could have disliked her but having access to her thoughts showed me where she was coming from. Tank is a wonderful protective alpha hero that isn’t afraid to show his pain to her.
This was a fast paced read that once started I could not stop. Filled with humor, great characters, hot sex, and even some tears, I loved it all. I am most curious to see which of the members will next have the honor of coming to life by Ms. Archer’s talented hands.

I enjoyed the previous book in the series so I was looking forward to digging into this one. Alas, it just wasn't all that great for me.
The writing was excellent. This author has a very readable way of writing. The pace was good as well and kept me turning the pages. Nicole and Tank had some funny moments. There wasn't any OW/OM drama. I wouldn't even say there was a lot of angst. I LOVED Tank and his badass alpha ways, and it was nice (mostly) seeing the couples from the previous books.
So what didn't work? Practically EVERYONE in this book was either mean or acted like a bitch. I didn't like Nicole AT ALL. Yes, I get she had issues with bikers, but seriously she was just WAY too judgy twat considering her best friends were in love with bikers. And let's talk about those friends shall we? Jessica was AWFUL in this book. I get she was supposed to be a bridezilla, but people needed to tell her to shut the f@ck up!
I also wasn't a fan of the direction the author chose to go in concerning a particular pair. That was a serious bummer, to say the least. Lastly, the ending felt rushed. So ya, a bit of a mixed bag...

There is no crying in badass books, is there? YES! This is the first book I have read by Ms. Archer and will not be the last. I loved Tank and Nicole. Resilient definitely describes these two characters. A wonderfully written story about two people who have endured the worst in others but find love. I am definitely reading the next book(s) in the series.

Nicole Walker wants nothing to do with the bikers her friends have fallen far. Her no good abusive father was a biker and she wants nothing to do with that life. Why then can't she get Tank out of her head. Tank is big, mean and completely gorgeous. He's a biker to the core though. The club is his family and he'll do anything to defend it. When Nicole is in danger those protective instincts kick in and he'll keep her safe no matter what. Will his heart be able to survive unscathed??
Very well written. On the softer side of MC books but well done nonetheless. Great characters and an intriguing plot make this an excellent read. I highly recommend it.

Gillian Archer’s newest True Blood MC book is called Resilient. A perfect title for the main character Nicole. She has had to be resilient to be where she is in life. Tank is a huge man physically and mentally. He is a love ‘em and leave ‘em biker, who can follow the hierarchy and orders in the club. However, he has had an eyeful of Nicole and really wants more. He loves her sass, but she is off limits to him as she is besties with two of the old ladies in his MC. Until she makes the first move and then he is hooked.
To me, each novel seems to get better and better. I am not sure if it is how much the characters are growing on me, or if the storyline is better written, but I really enjoyed this particular MC romance with a thriller side. Resilient by Gillian Archer is a goodread.

OMG you guys!!! If you have been a fan of this series, then hold on and strap yourself in because we get Tank ladies.....TANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been dying for "ladies man" Tank and considering the love interest in this story is none other than loud mouth, fly by the seat of her pants Nicole, I've been chomping at the bit to get my hands on this one.
Nicole is one of Jessica's BFF's. Yes, THE Jessica from the first installment. Jessica is getting married to Zeb and guess who's by her side helping her? Yep, Nicole. But there seems to be someone else too. A shadow. A bodyguard. A protector. And he's had his eye on Nicole for over a year now.
Tank is the playa. Yep, that guy. The one that doesn't do relationships and is oh too happy to "do 'em and leave 'em". He absolutely has his past issues, but don't we all? It's not until Nicole boldly makes the first move that Tank can let his guard down. And what an amazing moment that becomes.
Look. I'm not that person to completly spoil a story. I'm a firm believer in reading it "for the first time", so this is going to be a really hard review for me to write. LOL. We get to learn more about Nicole and her reasons behind who she really is and why. Not even her besties truly know who she is and where she's come from. To Nicole, it's a bit embarrassing. But once Nicole lets Tank in to her life, it seems as though her past rears its ugly head and she's forced to face more than she's been willing to.
I seem to keep falling deeper and deeper in to this series. Each one of these guys has a special place in my heart. So much so that there were actual tears that fell down my face while reading this installment. I can't believe it. Where do we go from here? Is this the end? Please tell me there is more....I NEED MORE!!!!!

I really enjoy a great MC (Motorcycle Club) novel. Tank is a member of the True Brothers MC and nothing comes before his brothers. Women are okay for a one night stand but after enduring his crazy ex-wife's issues, that's all he can offer. Nicole can't stand bikers but there's something about Tank that does it for her. Her past haunts her but she can't get enough of him. Red hot alpha male biker and his sassy woman = great read!

This is part of an MC series, now you probably feel that you can read it as a standalone, but you will get more if you read them all. So this book features, Tank and Nicole, and with all biker books, before they meet the girl they are serious about, they have the club "tramps" or the girls that they pass around, which I find disgusting, but it is to be expected in most biker books, and I knew that, but then again, these girls, should get some self respect. Anyway, that is not the story, so Tank and Nicole are attracted to each, but Nicole, detests, biker gangs, since she has had bad experience with them, however she is attracted to Tank, so propositions him to a one and done. Tank agrees, since he is not the type for a relationship, been there and done that, and failed at it. Of course, they did not stay with the arrangement. Now I have to say, I was not crazy about her so called friends, not too friendly, I only liked Brittany. So we go thru some heartache in the story, but we also get to see some love develop between Tank and Nicole, and they both deal with issue from there past. On to the next story, who will it feature?

Nicole doesn't want anything to do with bikers. Since leaving the Marines, Tank has found that life with the True Brothers MC suits him...but when they meet, there's an undeniable attraction. So Nicole decides it would be ok to have one night together and then be "one-and-done." But the chemistry they have is off the charts, making both Nicole and Tank think this might be something more even as they fight the emotions that go with their physical attraction to one another.
I have not read any of the other books in this series but I didn't have any trouble following along, for the most part. I'm a little mixed on this one, however. While I found it a little too violent at times, I liked that this was not your typical MC genre of cheating men, "groupie" women, etc. I also enjoyed seeing more depth in the main characters than is often depicted in this genre. I liked Tank with a seemingly honest depiction of an ex-military person struggling with PTSD (and so touching when dealing with his support dog, Stella) but Nicole seemed a little less believable and somewhat confusing: her definition of abuse, her seemingly love/hate relationship with her mother, her level of education, etc.
Lastly, the ending seemed a little extreme or maybe I just didn't want it to end that way....
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this. From the beginning this series has been sod dang good. This book doesn't disappoint. Characters from the previous books make an appearance in this book so you might have to read the other two to be caught up on the overall back story. I really enjoyed Nicole and Tank. They both have to overcome some serious family drama to be able to trust and love each other. Another great read by Gillian Archer. Can’t wait to see who’s story is next!!!

I received a copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I have read the other 2 books in this series and #3 did not disappoint!! I read this book in one day because I didn't want to put it down! The flow of the book is great and I just kept saying...one more page...
Nicole hates bikers and doesn't understand why her 2 best friends had to fall for one. They have been the best of friends since they were 12 or 13 but they don't know about her life before she moved to their town.
Tank doesn't do relationships. He just takes care of business and goes on his way. He was once married and she ended up being a psycho.
As his "brother" is getting married, Tank was chosen to chauffer the bride and friend, who happens to be Nicole, around to last minute wedding chores. This is the last place Nicole wants to be also. There is a sexual tension between Tank and Nicole though which neither really want to admit.
Later at the rehearsal dinner, that was more like a big barbeque, Nicole decides to proposition Tank. She calls it "one and done". No repeat performances. Of course he takes her up on it. The problem is, they both find they don't want it to stop...as much as they both deny it.
It does bother Nicole that "the club comes first" and club business is none of their women's business. They do decide to become "exclusive" though.
Then Nicole finds out her father is out of prison and back with her mom. She is hurt and angry that her mom would put up with his abuse again...but she does decide to tell her girlfriends about him, which was her basis of her feelings about bikers.
There were problems with the club, a business of theirs had been burned down and also a Molotov cocktail thrown through the window of another brothers home. There were several groups who could be responsible...
Life is settling down a bit for Nicole and Tank and even though they work totally different hours they spend as much time as they can together. Then one night a tragedy happens as the club is attacked once again. Nicole has seen things that she never thought she would and all it brings her is shock and guilt.
Can Nicole get past this? Will she and Tank survive?
This is a good read, especially if you like bad boy bikers...

Tank is commanding and sweet and a biker.
Nicole is smart, sassy and hates bikers.
But for just one night she can overlook that he's a biker. or maybe two, or three, or forever.

I was not impressed with this story... Sorry it didn't hold my attention like at all... Sorry not my cuppa tea

The first thing I want to say is....why did you have to go and do that? If you've read this, you know what I mean. I cried ugly tears at the unexpected event at the end of the book. It was all going well until the 90% mark, then bam, tragedy. I think we could have dealt with a better outcome much easier, but I suppose if you don't get our emotions involved, then you're not doing something right. This scene definitely broke my heart.
This was the first Gillian Archer book I've read, so I didn't know anything about the characters and other books in the series. I enjoyed this read, but it wasn't the best MC-based book I've read. This one was kind of in the middle - it wasn't too extreme (like the 1% MC's) or too sweet of a read. I'm still a bit confused about what kind of MC this was when they didn't seem to play dirty unless warranted, yet other clubs/gangs definitely had it out for them. Why were they a threat to the other clubs if they weren't involved in drugs/guns/etc.? Maybe that was covered in previous books, but having not read the others, I was just a bit confused about the motive behind the attacks in this book.
Tank is a vet that has suffered from PTSD in the past. He's been attracted to Nicole for a long time, but Nicole wants nothing to do with him simply because he's a biker. We don't learn right away why she hates bikers, but once we do learn, it makes perfect sense and I can't blame her. Despite her general dislike of bikers, she still has to admit that she finds Tank hot and wants him. They agree to a one-night-stand, then a two-and-shoo, but of course that all blows up in their faces and they soon find themselves in a relationship.
I LOVED Tank - he was one of the best MC heroes in a book I've read, and I've read a lot. He was loyal to his brothers, a strong man when Nicole needed someone to have her back or lend an ear, and he had a soft spot for a blind geriatric dog. What wasn't to love? Even when Nicole hid away, he was still there to take her back and fight to keep her if needed.
Nicole wasn't my favorite heroine. She was judgmental and a bit whiny, but again, I understand given her home life. She was strong though in her beliefs, which I have to give her credit for, but she eventually saw the fault in her thinking and gave Tank a chance. I don't have a lot of great things to say about her though, which is unfortunate.
I'll probably go back and read the previous books in the series and at least I'll know in advance the personality of the female characters.

**Trigger alert: Child abuse, spousal abuse**
I was looking forward to reading Resilient ever since I read Rebellious. I fell in love with the men of the True Brothers MC and couldn’t wait to read more about them. With Resilient, I got a treat. I got Tank, who fascinated me in Rebellious, and Nicole’s story. And I will say, it was a sexy read with plenty of drama.
I have become a huge fan of MC books since I started reading them a little over a year ago. Which is a change because I had told my bookish friends that I would never, ever read an MC book, that I didn’t understand why they were written. Obviously, I didn’t know what I was missing and I take my words back because MC books are among some of my favorite books to read. Something about bad boys who have a heart of gold gets to me and the men in the True Brothers MC are definitely that.
What I enjoyed was that the author didn’t go out of her way to make True Brothers this big bad MC. Instead, they were guys who were part of a club but had lives outside of it. They didn’t deal drugs, they didn’t go crazy killing people and actually, the only trouble that they got into was basically fought over turf. Not that I don’t like the tougher MC books but sometimes, you need normal when you read. And that’s what you got in this book.
Tank was a battle-scarred ex-Marine who lived for the club. Recruited shortly after he was medically discharged, the club quickly became his family. Well, his sister (who was a complete and utter biatch) was around but I wrote her off because of how she treated Nicole. He would do anything for the club and that included driving around the VP’s fiancée and her hot friend who had a major stick up her butt about bikers. I loved him because, underneath his tough exterior, he was a teddy bear. It always gets me when I see this huge, tatted up, bearded guy go mushy be it over a chick, an animal or a child (my 3-year-old wraps guys like that around her pinky finger all the time).
Nicole, I didn’t like from the other books. She came across as a snotty bitch and I was really surprised that she was getting a book with my Tank. But, when the author got into her story, I actually felt bad for her and it explained a lot about why she felt the way she did about bikers and MC clubs in general. Which made me wonder why she decided to hook up with Tank to begin with and then to keep hooking up with him.
Their romance was cute, once the sex scenes were out-of-the-way. Just their day-to-day interactions were adorable and I couldn’t get enough of it. I had a huge grin on my face while reading those scenes because they were unexpected and they normalized Nicole and Tank’s relationship.
The sex scenes were hot. But what got me is that Tank was pierced. Not Prince Albert but one that would bring a woman a ton of pleasure because it would hit her clit when he was thrusting. Very interesting because I have never heard of such a piercing. On that note, this is the second book where the penis was pierced. Makes me wonder what the next book would be like, piercing wise.
I did call what happened to Nicole and how it tied into events in the book. Not that it took away from the book because it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of it. What kind of pissed me off was how dismissive Nicole’s mother and brother were to her. She had every right to be upset/mad and they were like “Just deal”. I am glad that she didn’t just deal and I am glad that Tank was there was stuff went down.
Now the last part of the book did kind of throw me for a loop. I was not expecting what happened to happen and it kind of freaked me out. But the end of the book more than made up for me being blindsided. I can’t wait to see whose story the next book will be.
How many stars will I give Resilient: 4
Why: A sweet romance with plenty of action and characters that you might not like but are certainly memorable
Will I reread: Yes
Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes
Age range: Adult
Why: Sex, language, and violence
