I got this book through NetGalley to review. This was a well done continuation of this Frostblood Saga and if you liked the first book I think you will like this one as well.

This is a fairly typical YA fantasy. It is an engaging read and full of likable characters. The story itself is pretty simple and predictable. However, there are some great action scenes along with some adventure and interesting magic throughout.

This book is one of those fun and simple YA fantasy stories that is exciting and leaves you feeling good. It's a quick read and an engaging one. It might be a bit too predictable and straight-forward for some readers. I, however, really enjoy this genre and thought it was a fun and quick read.

Overall I enjoyed this quick YA fantasy read. I would recommend to those who enjoy fantasy romance with some adventure, action, and magic and are looking for a quick and easy read that's entertaining but not too complex.

I received an ARC in return for a fair review.

When we left Frostblood, Ruby had just destroyed the throne and life in the Frostblood kingdom was struggling to return to normal. As normal as it could be with a Fireblood cozying up to the king. Many of those in the kingdom are not happy with Ruby's presence, some to the point that her life is in danger. It's a fine line she and Arcus walk. Then Ruby is presented with a way to find out how to destroy the Minax once and for all, and she must take the risks to find the one book that will tell her how to do it.

Enter Kai. When he gives Ruby a way to travel to her destination, she accepts, but has no idea what she's signing up for. Now she must show her strength and her skills to become a master and free both kingdoms from the evil influence.

A lot happens in book two, and Ruby becomes a much stronger person. She also discovers her roots and must make choices that will affect all around her.

Fans of book one will love the continuation of the series, and now we are all looking forward to the next installment.

The first book in the Frostblood series completely captivated me. I plowed through it in no time at all. It was completely addicting and hard to put down. I was surprised that this was the author's debut novel and even more surprised that something that seems like it's been done before could so capture my attention and seem new and exciting.

With her sequel Fireblood, she proved that Frostblood was no fluke, this woman can write and weave a story that both seems unique and is completely compelling and once again, hard to put down. I read into the wee hours of the morning to finish this and I don't regret the bags under my eyes or the loss of sleep, not. One. Single. Bit.

I can't even begin to describe how much this series hooked me. The writing, the fast paced story line, the very heart of the characters themselves, all of it. It is just one of those series that you truly need to try and experience for yourself to truly get it and understand how addicting it can be. I seriously can not recommend it enough.

This book has a good story. Some of the descriptions were a bit hard to follow, but I am looking forward to the next book!

Elly Blake has become on of my favorite authors in the last year. Thank you to Netgalley, for the ARC of Fireblood. I have not been solicited for my review either. I read Frostblood last year just by chance through Amazon and fell in love with her writing. I would recommend purchasing this book if you love Sarah J. Maas, Marie Lu, or Leigh Bardugo. Fireblood draws you in from the beginning and keeps you hooked until the very end. I have to say this is defiantly not a filler book and is well worth reading. I did not add any spoilers.

LOVED THIS BOOK just as much as the first one! I was thrilled to get a chance to read an ARC of Fireblood and it didn't disappoint at all! Picking up where Frostblood left off, Ruby has to deal with the aftermath of the destruction of the throne and the revelation of her dear friend Arcus about who he truly is. Arcus and Ruby are working on managing their new roles and their relationship as they are both thrust into a different world than they have been living in. Ruby is struggling to fit into the court while she is hated by so many due to her fireblood and when opportunity arises for Ruby to save others and possibly defeat the Minax that is reeking havoc all over the land, Ruby takes the risk even if it means leaving Arcus behind. With the help of Kia, she travels to Sudesia and finds herself facing difficult trials, a headstrong queen and a land she didn't expect to ever really see. As the trials move forward, secrets are revealed and Ruby has to deal with the surprises thrown her way, including the feelings she has for Kai.
I loved this book just as much as the first and it kept me reading to find out what would happen next. I like Ruby and I like that she is flawed in some ways. She has passion and she follows her heart to do what is best for those around her. I can't wait to read the next part of this story!

The harrowing exploits of Ruby continue as she travels to the land of the Firebloods in search of knowledge and finds help from an unexpected source. Even Kai, a handsome young Firebood, fails to distract Ruby from her quest. Romance, intrigue, and betrayal abound in this suspenseful sequel.

I had very confusing feelings about Frostblood and I have semi-confusing feelings about Fireblood. While I did enjoy it, Fireblood also wasn’t anything “new”. If anything, it was more or less what happened in Frostblood for the first half, only in a different place and with different people.
I don’t want to sound cynical about it—really! But… the first half of the book or so, it’s Ruby finally in Fireblood territory, learning to be a Fireblood master—training for the trials that will deem her so.
But with the new territory comes new faces so that was a definite reprieve! We’re introduced to another fellow Fireblood, Kai, who was an adorable little flirt! I really enjoyed his character despite the fact that it does seem like he was a potential love interest. Still, he was funny and it was great to see another Fireblood with Ruby.
There was also the queen! She takes a bit of warming up to but I found her a nice addition to the book! Her husband was pretty intriguing too, though we don’t see too much of him. (I know I’m being very vague here but this is a sequel and I don’t want to risk anything.)
Okay, so, quickly about the romance: it’s really not a love triangle. You’ll see what I mean. That’s all I’ll say about this!
I missed my darling Arcus! He’s there in the beginning but after Ruby leaves for Sudesia, there’s such a big absence! He was super adorable with Ruby in the few chapters he is in and it was just so darn adorable.
The end of the novel was something I definitely didn’t expect. It didn’t really blow me away, but it did take me by surprise and definitely in need of Nightblood!
Overall, it was a pretty good sequel. Even though it was nothing new for me, the writing and the characters really make this series fun for me! 4 stars.

I give the book four stars. I really enjoyed reading this book and can not wait to find out what happens in the next book. What I really enjoyed about the book is the new characters and new places the author created. I would definitely recommend this book and this series.

Another fiery, action-driven, chronicle of the Fireblood vs Frostblood saga; the second book in this series does NOT disappoint! Filled w/ intricate details of the world our heroine inhabits, Blake weaves a story filled with adventure, love (!), and heart-pounding fantasy! The Frostblood Saga is a refreshing & original new addition to the ever-growing genre of fantasy fiction. Readers will be desperate for more by Elly Blake and the third installment. An excellent addition to YA fantasy collections.

I received a digital ARC from NetGalley, all opinions are my own!

I honestly can't decide if I enjoyed the first book in this series more or the second. This installment does not disappoint. Ruby is trying to fit in with the Frost Court (it's not going good...), but a opportunity presents itself to help Arcus and to help her hone the gift she has always been taught to hide. I will say that there are things that I did not see coming in this book and some very interesting plot lines. Be prepared for high adventure and to be transported into this world again. I enjoyed it so much and I can't wait for the next one. Don't worry about the second book let-down that can sometimes happen; you will not be bored with this story and will enjoy everything along the way. Is it September 2018 yet??
