I loved this! Ilona Andrews will never disappoint. The illustration included were also gorgeous. I loved seeing George and Jack all grown up.

Clean Sweep is the first installment in author's Ilona Andrews The Innkeeper Chronicles. Dina DeMille is an Innkeeper, part of a magical race who offers safe haven to intergalactic travelers who are visiting foreign realms, in Red Deer, Texas, just like her parents, Gerard, and Helen, who disappeared without a trace while she was in college. When her parents disappeared, she lost everything and had to start over in Texas. Her brother Klaus decided to be a traveler, her older sister Maud chose to marry a vampire. Dina chose to walk the same path as her parents by asking the Assembly for her own Inn which was granted.

Please Note: I have written three separate reviews for the three stories. You will find a review for all three below.

If you like both SF and UF, this is the pandemic binge read you’ve been waiting for. Andrews gives UF staples like witches, werewolves, and vampires SFnal antecedents, complete with intergalactic conflicts and aliens galore—all centred on small-town Texas. It’s very cool and very fun.

It’s also an awesome showcase for Andrews’s ability to escalate internal and external conflict. Each of these books was originally serialized on the authors’ website, and Andrews delivers on the multi-climax model all the best serials utilize. There’s always something exciting going on, whether it’s a new innkeeping challenge or a relatively quieter moment where Dina considers her personal goals. I ate it all up.

Especially since the characters are great. They bounce off each other well, they’ve got compelling stakes in each narrative arc, and their personalities both drive and adapt to each situation the authors throw at them. I can’t wait to hang out with them again in Books 4 & 5.

Unfortunately, the fancy special edition my ARC supports is sold out at the publisher, but there are still copies kicking around on Amazon and used sites. And the authors have kindly released the digital omnibus at a reduced price to help everyone cope with quarantine. They sure helped me.

I've always loved Ilona Andrews' work and The Innkeeper Chronicles is just another series for me to love. I found the world building to be on point, the characters funny and light, I really enjoyed Dina and Gertrude Hunt and the symbiosis they had together throughout the three books.

The addition of different alien species were described exquisitely and I could picture them vividly. I loved Caldenia, she was definitely one of my favourite characters from the whole series.

I highly recommend The Innkeeper Chronicles for any fans of Urban fantasy and sci-fi

A quick read, and so much fun! I smiled and laughed my way through the entire book. The authors must've had a very good time writing this gem!

Dina will do anything to make sure that the Gertrude Hunt Inn is up in running, even if that means going against her oath of impartiality to stop the thing that is hunting in her neighborhood. To make matters more complicated, a rogue werewolf, Sean, keeps getting in her way and underestimating her capabilities. Well, she will show them all what an Innkeeper is capable of.

I love all things created from the Ilona Andrews duo, I will happily read any kind of world that they want to magically create. When I discovered the Innkeeper Chronicles on their website as installments I thought the concept was really cool and I wanted to read it but I knew me and how hard it is to stop reading at one chapter and knew I needed the whole book to binge. So instead I (attempted to ) patiently wait until I could gobble up the entire story in a convenient book form.

The world that (is still being) built was such a random mix of science fiction and fantasy, unlike anything I have read before and I really enjoyed it. There are monsters, werewolves from outer space, enhanced werewolves, vampires aliens and other dimensions, intergalactic war, a magical trading post for anything you need, an Inn that is sentient, a tiny dog who can destroy anyone and an elderly lady who knows multiple ways to murder (and eat) people. I seriously did not know what was going to happen and I enjoyed the ride.

I will 100% continue on in this series as well as all other things Ilona Andrews. I now own the Innekeeper chronicles as ebooks, audiobooks and the most fantastic of illustrated collection (which is so pretty!). I think I will read the next one instead of audiobooking it since at times I was not a super fan of the narrator and I think that hurt my enjoyment of the story overall.

My blogger friends are huge fans of IAndrews. I love this first volume, it's so unique! The way I imagined it is a mix of supernatural fantasy with something alien. In any case, I'm enthralled. Will definitely keep up with the series.

PS Apologies for the late feedback, life's been busy and I'm just finding the time transcribing my reviews here.

Ilona Andrews never fail to deliver on entertaining series. The Innkeeper Chronicles was no different. With an interesting world, a fabulous cast and one of the best slow-burn romances ever, this was another hit for me. They really are a fantastic duo!

Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
An outstanding new fantasy series by the husband-and-wife writing team known as Ilona Andrews. This is a 5-star book that is fantasy, SF and a great book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for making this available, free. One of my favorite authors.
I want more of these stories. If available I'll get them, if not, please write more! I have read other books with similar bases but none lived for me the way this did. An inn, neglected almost unto death, afraid of losing its new innkeeper, but brave enough to fight. Humans, vampires, werewolves finding common cause along with a ménage of others. Lovely lady of as certain age, a villainess who doesn't pretend to be anything else. Worlds connected by the inn to explore, creatures to meet, challenges, romance, things to make you laugh or cry.
This book was 3 separate adventures, all featuring the same cast of characters, each following the other. Each adventure is book length and no cliffhangers. To Dina, may her power grow! This book will definitely lighten your day.

The Innkeeper Chronicles is a series that Ilona and Gordon Andrews initially posted on their blog as a free serial then, when each story is complete, it is fully edited, additional material may be added and it is released as a self published book. Subterranean Press has since released this beautiful, limited edition, signed hardback containing the first three books in the series: Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace and One Fell Sweep. At around 760 pages this is a massive hardback full of gorgeous illustrations from Doris Mantair (in both colour as well as black and white) that make it a fantastic collectors item.

As a huge fan of this series I immediately preordered my copy of this hardback as soon as it went on sale and I love finally having a signed book by Ilona and Gordon in my collection! I love all of their books but I think the Innkeeper Chronicles is possibly their most creative series yet. The idea of the Innkeepers is just brilliant and I love Dina and the family she has created for herself. I expect most people looking at this hardback will already be fans of the series and I can confirm you won't regret making this purchase. If you're new to the series you can also buy each story individually but you really should snap this up while copies are still available, there are only 750 of them available and once they're gone they're gone forever.

Great fantastic read!!! 5 Rip-Roaring Stars!!! I really don't have anything to say when it comes to Ms. Andrews work. I love her writing, witty sarcasm, all around bad-ass heroine and I just love her stories period. This was beyond awesome and I cannot say enough about it. Love Dina so much!
P.S. I totally thought I did a review on this, I cannot believe I forgot....shame on me. Lol

I really like Ilona Andrews, is one of my favorite authors out there and I really really really love her(them, whatever!) so I was really excited when NetGalley (and the editor) approved my request for this volume. I think I have read (not from the start to the end, so maybe it's correct to say that "I've started" but... it's just a small detail!) all the series of this author except this one, and I had this on my wishlist since forever, really! So this volume with the first three books was a little beauty and I really neede to read it.

And readed it I did! And I loved it soooo much! The idea is good and original, you have to love them for the Inns and the Innkeeper. Dina is a unique character, and you learn to know and love her almost from the start. She's the quiet sort, but you know that she has it in her, to be a real bad ass if you do not behave properly.
I'd like to talk more about the Inns and the Innkeeper's world, because it's a good mix of fantasy and sci-fi, and it's a great idea, unique and original. I would lie to you if I say that this is the best thing of these books (well, it's true, the best thing in absolute is the characters!!!! And the dialogues!), but it's really good and I loved it! And so I would gladly go on and on babbling about it, but I do not want to spoiler anything to you, and the discovery of this new world, with all his laws and strangeness is a gift that all the talented authors give to their reader, and I really do not want to spoil that for you.
World aside we have a whole of characters that are great and unique. Andrews' characters are all unique and all of them have their own personality, even the not main ones. They are never plain and you come to know and love all of them (or almost all!). We have Sean, your not so friendly but really sexy werewolf in the neighborhood, Arland the sexy and alien vampire, Beast an adorable beast (what were you expecting?!), Caldenia (ok, Caldenia is the top!)the lovely intergalactic tyrant and killer with a really big bounty on her head, and many others. And in the second book, we met some of the characters of The Edge series. I was screaming when I met them, I was soooo happy!

And the dialogues are so much fun! I laughed a lot while reading it and I smiled and I almost cried, too. It was a really good reading because I found in it all I was searching for and much more! I fall in love with this series and I hope to read the next books soon because I miss all of them!

I requested this omnibus not taking into consideration that I had an eARC from the authors, and it didn't feel as though enough time had past to (sort of) review it again, were I to have made this deadline. Apologies for the inconvenience.

This husband and wife writing team, using her name, Ilona Andrews, obviously had a terrifically good time with their free, serialized urban fantasy “Innkeeper” novels. A charming young innkeeper, Dina Demille (from the innkeeper family of the same name), is like any other innkeeper bonded to her sentient and extremely powerful and magical inn, Gertrude Hunt. Scattered over Earth, these inns provide neutral havens for interstellar creatures. Dina is dedicated to the safety and comfort of her guests, many of whom would otherwise be at each other’s throats. Predictably, events and blood-thirsty, revenge-driven and otherwise unlaw-abiding forces collude to interrupt that peace. Although blessed with supernatural powers within the inn’s grounds, Dina becomes ordinary the farther she gets from home. To meet the various threats, she therefore acquires allies and (sometimes would-be lovers) in the form of sexy werewolves and equally sexy vampires, but the real charm of these stories lies in her courage and resourcefulness, coupled with a not inconsiderable thread of whimsy. Humor, romance, and suspense are nicely balanced against each other, and the central characters are so appealing, I was sad when I finished the last page. (Not to be too sad: the Innkeeper website assures me there will be more!

A limited edition of one of my favorite series. What's not to like?
Great story? Check.
Gorgeous edition and artwork? Check.
A hell of a ride that ends with anticipation for the next ones? Check.

I don't like sci-fi and planet travelling stories. Ilona Andrews makes me forget that and ask for more.

I have to say the ideas behind these books is absolutely brilliant.

3 great stories in one volume which I could not put down.

I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the characters. Dina wants to lead a peaceful life, but residing in a living bed and breakfast and hosting an intergalactic summit between warring species and looking for her parents. Does not look like its going to be as quiet as she thought.
