'Matched for Love' by Tamra Baumann is a love story that will have you grinning from ear to ear and feeling like a big, goofy, hopeless romantic.

I very rarely read romance novels and when I do I expect a lot more from them than I would other genres. So my love for 'Matched for Love' should signify just how talented Baumann is and what a good story she tells.

Like most Romace novels 'Matched for Love' was cheesy and predictable at times but it didn't damage the story at all for me due to the development and fullness of the characters. I can't remember the last time I read a novel and felt like I truly knew the characters and not just knew them I fell head over heels in love with them.

Lori is a single mother of one who's husband died in the war. She is a matchmaker for a living but regardless of her profession she is a skeptic for love after both her and her mother were cheated on. She doesn't believe she will ever be able to fall in love again when she bumps into Deek, a single dad, at the children's science show. The mother of Deek's son shows no interest in being a family until she hears that Lori is getting close to the father of her child. This leaves Deek with a huge decision on whether he should follow his heart or stick with his strong morals about family life.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC in return for an honest review. I would recommend 'Matched for Love' to anyone who enjoys Romantic novels or wants a short and easy, feel good read.

Lori Went has been betrayed by her father and then by her husband. She was never able to resolve things with her husband because he was deployed right after she learned of his betrayal and was killed in action. She now had trust issues with men. She was a professional matchmaker but couldn't find love and happiness in her own love life. She just wanted to focus on her daughter, Emily, and give her the love she needed and that would have to be enough.

Deek Cooper was a self-made millionaire. He had a son, Asher, and wanted to marry his son's mother to give Asher the family life he had always wanted with both parents. He loved Annie but she didn't seem to be as committed to him and to their son. She was always running off to an archeological dig somewhere across the world and never seeming to make time for her family.

Emily and Asher were in the same class in school and as Deek and Lori spent more and more time together, their connection moved from friendship to something more. But, could Lori trust Deek not to break her heart or could she walk away and allow Deek to marry Annie and give Asher the family he deserved? Could they tell each other how much they cared and loved each other or would they forever be destined to sacrifice for the happiness of their children alone?

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the story and absolutely loved Deek's character but I didn't like the descriptive sex scenes. There was enough chemistry without the details of their sex life.

I loved this story. I wanted it too last a little longer. Lori has had her heart broken by her deceased military husband. Deek has been pinning for his son's mother. Both are afraid to love again. Great build up of all the characters. The reader cheer when they both figure out they are in love with each other. The two main children in the story will remind reafders of the "Parent Trap. I will definitely look for more books from this author.

Not realizing it, again I've started a new series in the middle. This book was so enjoyable to read, it was sweet, funny & sad all in one. Lori & Deek are both looking for more in relationships. Both are dealing with cheating in their lives & unfortunately for Lori she's lived with it for a long time. Matchmaker Lori thinks Deek is perfect but he's waiting for his sons mother to come home & marry him to finally put some permanence on their family. With things the way they are you wouldn't think that they would start a relationship that might have lasting effects on their lives but they do & it's all ruined by the sudden appearance of Annie his sons mother who's come home to claim her family & Deek's money. My thoughts on this book were that Derek needed to take the blinders off where Annie was concerned & Lori needed to stop being so nice & go for what she wanted. Definitely recommend this book.

I received a free advance copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While being third in a series, I didn't feel lost for not having read books 1 or 2. Other characters and stories are mentioned but it doesn't take away from the current story.

The writing was fun and light. This was a perfect book to read after reading some heavy mysteries. I breezed through it within two days and welcomed the lightheartedness. I even found myself laughing out loud at some of the slogan's on Deek's t-shirts. (Seriously, if those t-shirts don't already exist, they certainly should!)

If you love quick, breezy chick lit books, you will enjoy this one. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author, so thank you Netgalley.

I don't really have much to say on this one. I couldn't really figure out what was going on for the most part, and I honestly don't even know if they main characters ended up together in the end.

Matched For Love by Tamra Baumann is a cute love story set in the suburbs of Denver. The book is nicely written, the characters are easy to get to know, and the plot flows effortlessly from start to finish.

Lori Went is a matchmaker, part-time student, and single mother. She works very hard to ensure that her daughter Emily is happy, yet she takes little time for herself. It is ironic that she cannot find love, while she is able to create happiness between others. Not only is her young daughter Emily a cutie-pie, she is also a chip of the old block. Matchmaking is an inherited trait in the Went family, and Emily is already on her way to becoming a success.

Deek Cooper is a good-looking and very successful software developer. Growing up he was quite the geek, and now he has not only filled-out, he has Asher, his very intelligent young son, in addition to great wealth. All Deek wants is for Asher to grow up in a loving family with a mother and a father. Deek believes he is in love with Asher's mom, but her long absences from their lives tells a different story.

Lori and Deek meet through their kids and a friendship begins which evolves into love. However, Deek's situation and Lori's trust issues may prevent them from a future together.

I really liked this slightly emotional romance. Lori and Deek are well-defined characters, and their sexual tension was truly well executed. I loved Rachel, Lori's spunky twin, and I hope Ms. Baumann writes her love story. Overall, this is a well written and extremely impassioned novel.

This is technically the third book in the Matchmaker Series, but this one stands completely alone and you do not have to read the first two in order for it to make sense or be enjoyable. This book does have on-screen sex (but nothing kinky) and minor cursing, but no f-bombs.

Although I found myself highly annoyed with Deek more times than I can even begin to count, I still really enjoyed this book, which speaks to Ms. Baumann's incredible ability to tell a story. I enjoyed the interactions between Lori and Deek that showed their friendship, and how they helped each other navigate through the perils of single parenthood, each playing to their strong suits. While Lori was the kind of mom that scrambles to get things done and doesn't always have it together (which I loved), she was fun and more spontaneous. On the other hand was Deek who was the organized Super Dad who home-cooked every meal, and over-regulated every little thing where his son was concerned. Deek was a genius who came across as borderline Aspergers at times, which, if it were true, would explain his quirks and frustrating obsession with reuniting with his son's “mother” (word used in the loosest sense of the word) and their whole ridiculously unhealthy relationship. It would also explain his incredible rigidness/inflexibility with his son. I admit that I wanted to smack him more than once (Rachel absolutely nailed it when she said “For a smart guy, he's being an idiot.”), but I was very happy with how the book ended.

While this wasn't my favorite Tamra Baumann book, for I enjoyed the story for what it was, and I loved the happily ever after. I also thought that Rachel was an interesting character and her story was very intriguing, so I very much look forward to seeing how her story plays out.

I requested and was generously granted a copy of this book via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to write this review, I did so because the story was interesting.
