Another great book my Kat. My only issue is the main characters got together too quickly and the middle dragged a bit.

I appreciate reading about a female character who, although has not gotten far in life exactly on her own, is a responsible, strong-backed female, that doesn't "need" that big, strong billionaire man to be happy; he just conveniently is there and happens to fall for her and help her out by keeping her alive and financially set.

Although not a quick read for me, I did enjoy the story. I wanted to see where it went and how it would end for everyone. I think the circumstances were a little out there and mounding, but they were handled pretty believably.

This was a good romantic suspense story. The H/h relationship was believable, I want a Lincoln Cain of my own! I look forward to reading more about the cast of characters.

I've always enjoyed Kat Martin's books, and was excited to see her start this new series. There is no way that anyone could not fall in love with Linc and Carly. They are both so normal, but yet more at the same time. The excitement builds chapter by chapter, so it is really hard to put this book down.

Carly has recently moved back home to the little town of Iron Springs where she has taken over her grandfather's trucking business. It was his everything, therefore she intends to do whatever it takes to keep it running smoothly. But when one of her employees ends up dead with a bullet in his head Carly must pause to consider what it means. A quick look at the books later tells Carly something is definitely amiss. She isn't sure how or why, but the company's accounts are in shambles. Does this tie in to why her driver is now dead?

Fortunately Carly is a strong, determined woman who will let nothing stand in her way. With no stone left unturned, Carly is prepared to get to the bottom of things. This is especially good because, whether she realizes it or not, she's just getting started on what is bound to be a very taxing, uphill battle. Add to the mix the fact that if she's going to keep her company afloat she's going to have to do some stuff she'd never in a million years have considered doing- like relying on her competitor for help. Her uber wealthy and sexy competitor.

Beyond Reason, the first book out in this newest trilogy by best selling author Kat Martin, will delight readers with plenty of action, intrigue, and sex appeal. An exciting story that left me wanting more, I'm happy there will be two more installments in the future. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for giving me this review opportunity.

Side note: I must say though that I was a little disappointed with the overly gratuitous sex scenes. If I want a book filled with hot and steamy sexual escapades I could easily turn to another genre. However, when I pick up a contemporary fiction/suspense novel it's not traditionally the material I'm expecting or looking for. Personally, I just don't see what it adds to the storyline. It's not that I don't like a good romantic write up as much as the next girl, but I don't feel it's always necessarily needed. Less is more in some ways.

Not to mention that when I think of Kat Martin I think of my grandma. I do this not because Kat Martin reminds me of a grandma but because my grandma is the one who first introduced me to Martin's books. In many ways we share similar tastes in books which is why I was so looking forward to this one. I had eagerly planned on reading my review copy before promptly running out to buy my grandma her own copy as soon as it hit shelves. Though after reading Beyond Reason I'm now not so sure. My grandma is a far cry from being a prude, and yet I simply can not imagine giving her a book with such in your face sex scenes.

I had a hard time getting into this book. I'm not sure why this was so different from other Kay Martin books. Usually I really enjoy her books and can't get enough. Reading this I never felt connected to the characters.
Carly inherits her grandfathers trucking business after his death. However Carly inherits more then a business. She inherits a problem that leaves one of her men murdered and a missing truck.
Lincoln wants Joes business. He's willing to pay top dollar to take it off of Carly's hands while doing right by Joes granddaughter. But Carly draws Lincolns attention in more ways then one. And Lincoln is determined to help Carly regardless of her determination to do everything herself.

As always Kat Martin delivers a hit!! Drama, action, passion, and love this is a book to read over and over again. I'm a bit in love with Lincoln Cain. You will be too when you read this book. A protective alpha male and an independent, stubborn, strong woman in a battle of wills and a debt to repay. What could go wrong?

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kat Martin’s latest novel is an intriguing suspenseful thrill ride that will keep the reader guessing to the very end. In “Beyond Reason,” Carly Drake has found herself surrounded by death in the last month, first her beloved grandfather Drake and then a trusted employee of Drake Trucking. Carly has vowed to throw herself into the running of the trucking company by trying to bring it back from near bankruptcy. Lincoln Cain is a self-made millionaire who had a rough upbringing and with the help of Joe Drake, Carly’s grandfather, he was able to turn his life around. Lincoln made a promise to Joe that he would look out for Carly, and when he finds out that Carly and her livelihood are threatened he uses all of his resources to keep the promise. The more time that Carly and Lincoln spend together the deeper their relationship grows as they navigate the danger that threatens to destroy any future they may have. I was given an advanced copy of this book, and all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This was a great book with all new characters for Kat Martin. Lincoln and Carly were thrown together when her grandfather made Linc promise to keep Carly safe. Between shoot outs with terrorists, blowing up houses and a tornado, the two become very close and in the end get the happily ever after that the old man knew they deserved. This was a fast paced thrilling book that I highly recommend. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to learn more about Linc's business Partner.

This story has everything in it but the kitchen sink- murder, embezzlement, family drama and tragedy...if that doesn't grab you, then there is plenty of romantic relationship for the main characters to work through before they find real happiness.

Kat Martin writes a solid story and this one is no exception.

Kat Martin creates such interesting characters, and takes them on wild adventures. This book is a good installment and an engaging tale of romantic suspense. Link is a great example of appearances being deceiving, and the terror angle is a scary look at the possibilities for evil.

A new series by one of my favorite author's of romantic suspense. I enjoyed being introduced to the new characters and look forward to the other books in the series. The heroine was strong in her own right, and the love story was well-done.
