This is the second book of cartoons published by Krause and it follows the same simple premise as the first - Krause takes people's odd and unusual, but entertaining, fears and illustrates them. That's it. It's delightful to read and the best part is not seeing the strange fears of strangers (although that is definitely fun) but stumbling across something you are secretly and oddly afraid of as well. I highly recommend this one.

I wasn't really sure what to expect of this book - I am not a reader of the online strip (though I may become one now) but was intrigued by the concept. In the end, I thought the book was great. There were a few strips that literally made me shiver and others that were things I never knew I should be afraid about! It's a great way to feel connected with others and realize that we all fear irrational, sometimes silly things.

I had no idea that Fran Krause's Deep Dark Fears would have a follow up when I read it earlier this month, so I was beyond excited to find out about this newest collection. Here he brings readers more of the creepy, funny, and idiosyncratic fears they love illustrated in comic form–such as the fear that your pets will tell other animals all your embarrassing secrets, or that someone uses your house while you’re not home–as well as two longer comic short-stories about ghosts.

I love this book! Beautifully illustrated and genuinely creepy.

I enjoyed this immensely. Just like the first book, "The Creeps illustrates random submissions of people's fears. There seemed to be less gory and more creepy types of fears this time around. I found some that I related to a lot because I fear them myself, prior to reading this. It was fun to read them and think, "Ohhhh I've thought about that," or "I've dreamed about that before."

The only downside to this is that I read this graphic novel on a Kindle, so I wasn't able to see any of the illustrations in color. (I be the printed version will be better.) Also, some of these seem really familiar and I'm not sure if it was because they were used in the first book or I saw it already on his website.

This book was really cute, and the illustrations were great. I liked the concept of the book, and found it to be a quick and enjoyable read.

THE CREEPS was an adorable collection of comic strips about our daily fears, some valid- others completely silly. What fun!

There is nothing complicated here, but what I found myself thinking about most of all when I finished was the fact that inside- we are so much alike as a people, as human beings. Our silly minds imagine scary things sometimes, but it's nice to know that other people's minds do the same thing.

This is quick read, it's entertaining and some of these strips may hit just the right spot for you and make you either laugh, think, or both. Recommended!

*Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is it.*

Fran Krause is back to illustrate more of our greatest fears. The popular web comic series Deep Dark Fears, and best-selling book of the same name, takes readers greatest worries and anxieties and puts them into a comic form. Much like the first book, the illustrations are comic, hilarious, and often uncomfortable.

Be prepared for such fears as life as a ghost and people using your house while you're out. Fran Krause includes some of her own fears, but also takes suggestions on the website.

The Creeps is available from Ten Speed Press September 26, 2017.

Definitely enjoyed reading this. I've seen the author's work circulating around the Internet but never thought to actually check it out I'm glad I was given the chance to review this book. It's filled with hilariously relevant, somewhat ridiculous fears that are definitely relatable to anyone who decides to pick it up and start reading.

Well, the title doesn't lie. It's a series of short little fears, some simply silly, some that can work to mess with your head. The illustrations are almost playful, especially on the creepier of the fears. Super quick read...and now i'm going to sit my paranoid self in the corner and try to banish some of the images.

Another excellent Deep Dark Fears collection! This one is almost exactly in the same vein as the last one, so if you are just itching for more then this is for you. Unlike many follow-up collections, this did bring something new to the table. There were two longer, more richly illustrated stories, The Bridge and My Attic Room, that were a really excellent addition. I would love to see more of those in the future or more of the fears developed into those kind of short fictions. They really showcased the author's narrative and artistic prowess.

I found this one very interesting and entertaining, but not as funny as the first one.

This was interesting. It was a very quick read, and I laughed out loud at some points. It was a nice brain break for me, and I would definitely recommend it for that!

Reading about other people's fears will either make you cringe or make you laugh.

This book was a great collection of comics of things that people think. It was definitely creepy and many of the stories were things that I have thought of before, so it was cool to see that other people think the same weird things sometimes. I would recommend this books to anyone who is not afraid to get a chill down their spine.

This is a delightful collection of Krause's "Deep Dark Fears" comics, which never cease to do readers a massive favor by showing each and every one of us that despite what we may individually think, we are in fact far, far from the only ones in this world carrying curious phobias and concerns deep within.

It was okay. The art is fun and the idea is pretty solid, but not really that funny in execution. I smiled at a couple of the fears, but none of them made me laugh. This book was mildly amusing at best.

Well I'm not sure how I'm going to bed after reading this! The thing about these comics is that it isn't scary so much as it is unsettling. The fears in here are the irrational ones that we have randomly throughout our lives and Krause' ability to put them into visual is both awesome and terrifying. The worst for me is when he depicts one that I relate with. The book is perfect for someone in your life that likes art that is creepy and only toes the line of horror.

As before, this is a cartoonish evocation of fears, perceived threats and superstitions (such as not pointing your shoes towards the bed at night, of all things), in four-panel comic strip form. But the fact they're painted shows this is a step up from the usual yuck-fest, and not just once there is a great split between what the words tell you and what the image you expect is, showing there is some great illustrative talent here. (I liked the car that ends up on a wooden jetty when the words simply convey it drifting away from its normal route at night.) There is invention in breaking the four-by-four grid, by countering the convention. We also get longer form pieces, of about eight sides, that again add by themselves drifting away from the norm. Worth four and a half stars, however creepy and wacked-out the artist proves both himself and the sources of all his borrowed text to be.

The Creeps is a great book! Sometimes reasonable, often hilarious fears that people may have experienced in their lives are graphically represented.
