EYE CANDY is the first book in Jessica Lemmon's Real Love series. Vince Carson and Jackie Butler have been friends for years. Both friends have gone through painful divorces. Both friends are co-Vice Presidents at the same company. What Jackie doesn't know, is that Vince's feelings for her go beyond friendship. As a way to get Jackie into the swing of dating again, and possibly looking at him in a new light, Vince hatches a very convoluted plan involving a hunky jogger. Vince's logic is extremely skewed, but I enjoy a story about a man lovesick over a woman and a story told partially from his perspective. In EYE CANDY, Vince and Jackie are their own worst enemy their path to true love is in no way smooth.

Since the guy and the girl in this story are frequently confused by each other and their emotions, I am happy that Jessica Lemmon tells EYE CANDY from both perspectives. Seeing Vince's well-hidden vulnerability and hearing his bro heart-to-hearts with his BFF Davis, gives him depth and makes him more interesting. Jessica Lemmon does a great job of bringing Vince's longing for Jackie to life. Jackie is just as realistically flawed as Vince. Her insecurities and struggle to regain her sense of self-worth and attractiveness, after being wounded by a partner's infidelity, is easy to understand. Although his methods for getting Jackie to notice him are a little kooky, the results are sizzling. The chemistry between Vince and Jackie is amazing, and the passion that unexpectedly develops between them is blistering in its intensity.

EYE CANDY is about two friends who take a zigzagged path to true love. Once again, Jessica Lemmon makes the corporate world seem sexy. The friendships are the heart of this story. Vince's friend Davis proves to be a good friend to Jackie as well as Vince and plays a great reluctant cupid. I look forward to reading what's in store for Davis in Jessica Lemmon's next Real Love book.

Oh My I had so much fun reading this book, it had me laughing out loud right from the start. Vince and Jackie are more then just Co-workers they are truly best friends. They tell each other everything (or so they thought), they spend countless nights having dinner or watching a movie, sometimes both, so when Jackie takes notice of another man Vince knows he needs to do something to get Jackie to notice him in that way.

I have enjoyed many of Jessica Lemmon's books but I have to say that this one is one of my favorite. This story had me laughing one minute and wiping my tears away the next, it got under my skin and stayed there, it was a great friends-to-lovers story and a wonderful start to the Real Love series.

A nice read of two people trying to find love again after bad breakups and divorces. First they are best friends and respect each other as individuals and work colleagues, but so hesitant to move forward for fear of losing their best friend. Vince and Jacqueline are perfect for each other. So in tune with what the other likes, thinks and feels. A crazy setup of Vince coaching Jackie on landing the new eye candy has the expected results. Lots of ups and downs, humorous moments, good friends to help them navigate tough days.
When they do finally get together it is steamy. Learning to trust each other and themselves leads to a breakup, but they both want what they had together to let hurt feelings stand in the way. Being a grownup and being out in the relationship world is hard and takes a lot of work, but finding your soulmate is worth the battle.

Eye Candy is the first book in the brand new Real Love series by Jessica Lemmon. This a friends-to-lovers story about two friends who helped each other through their divorces.

Jackie has been divorced three years but hasn't been able to bring herself to date after her ex cheated on her. Every morning she watches a gorgeous guy jog by her window and she has no idea how to approach him but she wants to. Her best friend and co-vice president, Vince, decides to help her. He has an ulterior motive though. He plans to wait until this guy breaks her heart so that he can swoop in and make her see that she belongs with him. Things back fire when they share an intense kiss but it may be just what was needed.

I enjoyed this book and it's take on the friends-to-lovers trope. This is a trope that is slightly overdone but this story was believable and the characters were well developed. I liked Jackie and how she was willing to finally put herself back out there. It's hard when you have been cheated on and I'm glad she didn't rush back out into the dating world before she was ready. Jessica Lemmon did a great job with these characters in that both of them were divorcees who were left but neither of them played the victim. Jackie didn't date for awhile but she never came across as the "woe is me" type.  I also liked that Vince wasn't the type of businessman who was all about his job. That was really refreshing. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Jackie and vince are adorbs. Jackie is still stuck in a rut or at least I would say rut. She was betrayed by her husband and now is more gunshy. She doesn’t date but I think personally her and Vince have been without thinking of it for awhile. she ogles the runner who happens to be her neighbor out her office window. She is strong, smart and tenacious but doesn’t trust easily. In fact it is her letting the past take over the present that almost ruins her present and future.

Vince has been dating but is in love with Jackie. At first he doesn’t see it that way but he is. He wants his best friend. Doesn’t know how to change their situation but is crafty enough to find a way. He has been burned but isn’t as distrusting as Jackie. He also learns that he may also have fault in his mistakes of the past but wouldn’t change them because if he did he wouldn’t learn and grow.

Vince is sweet, loyal and laid back. He doesn’t talk feelings but does love Jackie. he listens and is her support and strength. He also respects her. I love their banter and his sexy way of just being. Him with his best friend and how his best friend helps even though he is jaded is great. Do hope he gets a HEA for he seems so sad and lost.

So how does sexy sweet and fun Vince get Jackie to see him as more than a friend? Become her dating coach of course. We see Jackie have feelings go everywhere. She begins to see Vince as more but she doesn’t know what to do. She is into the runner. And Vince is determined to help her but also get her to see him.

What do we get from this dating coach thought? Fun entertainment. Sexy times. Sweet moments with intimate scenes. Confusion from the girl. Mistakes by both. One mistake that crushes someone and has them feel less. And the makeup that has us happy and giddy. We get attraction, banter that has you smile, friends that are loyal and entertaining and a great friends to forever story.

Possible Spoilers:

I really wanted to love the book, but it fell a little flat for me. I loved the blurb and I was really interested in seeing how Vince was going to get out of the dreaded friend zone. However, Vince's plans to finally get Jackie were somewhat mean and cold-hearted especially for someone who says they care deeply for someone. Honestly, it felt like he used Jackie's friendship to his benefit then we he decided he wanted more for her instead of talking to her, he tried to manipulate her. Then I couldn't tell if he actually liked or just wanted sex from her; for example, pretending to be her "dating" coach so that he can have her without the messiness of a relationship. Essentially to me, if felt like he wanted her to love him without him having to give anything but sex in return.

I just didn't feel the love between them; Jackie had some doormat tendencies and Vince acted like a jealous jerk for most of the book. To be honest, I was more interested in Davis and Gracie than our main couple.

This is the first book that I have read by Jessica Lemmon and what a really great read! In this quintessential friends to lovers story, Vince and Jackie (aka Butler) provide the perfect tension to capture an intoxicating mix of intrigue and angst. With both lending a comforting shoulder to lean on after their divorces, keeping a level and reasonable mindset proves to be challenging on every level for these two. Forming a friendship was easy enough for these two co-workers; however, when Vince finds himself having deeper feeling for Jackie, he feels like pushing her to date someone else might make her realize that she is ready to date, to put herself "out there". Allowing him to slide on in there as a candidate to win her heart. Only...his plan has the potential to backfire. Setting up a rouse to encourage her dating efforts can either set the ground work for her to fall for him, or can do the exact opposite. Challenges and hurdles threaten not only any chance of them being together; but can also hinder any chance of them remaining friends. Jessica Lemmon provides the perfect elements for a romance dream. Jackie's self-consciousness provides for an endearing and somewhat gullible heroine, who you will fall in love with. Vince is the vulnerable hero with a heart of gold who's sexiness is undeniable. Albeit my first read by Jessica Lemmon, it definitely will not be my last!

I so enjoyed Eye Candy, the first book in Jessica Lemmon’s Real Love Series! A great friends-to-lovers romance that had me into it from the very beginning. It’s got the sweet and hot sexy moments, humor, emotion and a couple I was rooting for. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series!

4.5 stars! This was a sweet friends to lovers romance. I loved the interactions between Vince and Jackie. They are funny and adorable together. Secondary characters are great, too. Davis and Kayla are both great. I feel a Davis story is due. The writing flows easily and makes you keep reading to find out how it will end. I love all Jessica's sweet romances. They warm your heart.

Friends to lovers is one of my absolute favorite tropes and there's lots to love about Vance and Jackie's sweet and sexy slow burn. Their banter was adorable and fun, the feelings between them felt genuine and heartfelt and when they were honest with each other - their connection felt so gratifying.

Honestly, the majority of this book was five star material for me, but there were a couple things that caused me to disconnect (or get actively irritated) with the storyline. I had a fight or flight moment early on in this book when I thought things were going to go a certain way. Willful miscommunication and game playing is a dealbreaker for me, and I almost put the book down because I thought I knew exactly how things were going to play out and I didn’t want to be irritated and frustrated for the rest of the book. However, I decided to give it a little bit more time to see how things shook out and – ohmygosh. I’m really glad I did that. Because while there were certainly moments where I wanted to knock Vance and Jackie’s heads together – things didn’t actually play out the way I thought they were going to and there’s a whole lot of charm on these pages that I would have missed out on.

So while the majority of this book was a complete delight to read - it was also a little bit unbalanced for me. I have some mixed feelings about it - but my overall impression was very positive. I felt like the writing was fantastic, the storytelling was great - it was some plot points that I struggled with and that, of course, is a subjective and personal issue.

Even with the rollercoaster of feelings I have about this book, it was completely worth the read and I am 100% excited for the next one (Lord Almighty does Davis have a story to tell...) ~ Shelly, 3.5 Stars

Eye Candy by Jessica Lemmon is probably one of my favorite friends to lover’s books! She caught my attention from the very first page. Jacqueline and Vince are not only co-workers but best friends. They spend many nights on the couch together watching movies. Those nights started when Vince was going through his divorce. As they have spent more time together, their feelings get more complicated for each other. Readers are left with the age-old question: can best friends become lovers without their relationship permanently changing?

Jackie was attracted to Vince when she first began working in the same firm as him. At the time, he was married and a friendship developed. When Vince and his wife went through a bitter divorce, she was his shoulder to cry on. She knew what it was like because she had divorced several years earlier. I loved the pacing of their romance. It was a slow burn. Lemmon did a great job of helping me understand their confusing feelings for one another after seeing each other in a different light. At times, Jackie thinks she is transferring her attraction to Vince because of her inability to talk to J.T., the hot jogger who runs past her work every day and who lives in her apartment complex. Vince knows he wants Jackie, but I loved getting his POV. I really got to see inside his mind and when his feelings for her changed…when she went from his friend Jackie to Jackie, “the hot girl I’d like to spend time with” (Vince’s words). But, he thinks she doesn’t she him as anything more than her friend. I got to see Jackie’s perspective as well. She would notice he would act different or look at her differently, but she wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. Those things about each character really made me feel connected to them.

Not only was this a sweet and sexy book, but it was funny too. Both Vince and Jackie had a great sense of humor. Seriously, Vince’s plan to get her to see him as more than her friend is convincing her not only to date again but to date J.T., the hot jogger. He thinks he can convince her what a jerk he probably is. Sounds like a great plan, right? It might not be the perfect plan, but the set up to this “genius plan” is hilarious. There is so much going on between the pages of this gem of a book. I highly recommend reading it if you love a good rom com with great characters. I bet you will love these two as much as I did!

I really love how Jessica Lemmon tells a story. She infuses wit and angst with fun loving characters who make you cheer for them as they fall in love. And this story had all that.

Vince and Jackie work together and have become very good friends. They've bonded over the divorces they went through. Vince realizes he wants more when Jackie starts to notice a guy that runs past their office daily. And here is where it starts to crumble for me...rather than admit he'd like to date her, he offers to help her get the other guy. Not only that, once he finally tells her what he wants, he totally shuts her out after she sees him with his ex and he realizes he's in love with her. That whole situation and its resolution didn't make me swoon.

I do like Vince's best friend Davis. He's got a story that will be amazing, I just know it.

Jacqueline Butler has taken to ogling a sexy runner every morning from her office window. Her BFF and co-worker convinces her she to do more than stare longingly everyday, and ask the jogger out... with the help of his coaching... of course.

Vince Carson is finally in a good place after his divorce, thanks to his close friend, Jacqueline. The friendship that meant so much to him post divorce is now a roadblock to getting what he really wants... Jackie. He may have blown his chances even further when he convinced her to ask out the runner... now he has to figure out the best way to change the nature of the relationship.

This book was great! It was my first from the author, and I just adored her writing style and sense of humor. Jackie and Vince had the most adorable friendship and have some issues when they finally realize the attraction they have for each other. With the need to tread lightly to not affect their friendship, but coupled with their hot attraction to one another, the path may not be as easy as either of them hoped...

This storyline was fast-paced, fun and sexy. It's an awesome beginning to a series that I am already hooked on, and ready for more of!

I love a good friends to lovers romance and it's my favorite troupe. This one delivered and I enjoyed every minute of it. I really liked Vince. He's had a hard time of it, but he's slowly making his way back and starting to realize what Jacqueline truly means to him. Now the hard part to convince someone against dating to what's right in front of her. Jacqueline is a little gun shy which is understandable. We sometimes work up a fantasy in our heads and what to achieve that, but while we're dreaming true happiness could be right in front us waiting for us to grab it. Vince and Jacqueline are great for one another because they've been there for one another at their worst moments. This is one great read and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Eye Candy has me drooling for more. The men are tantalizing, teases. This read was sweet, sexy, sensual, and tempting. Vince wants the girl, Jackie. Jackie wants that hot eye candy that jogs past her office window. Vince being the good guy and best friends wants to help her out even though he wants her. The good guy antics gets him much more than he hoped for. He wanted to be the rebound when the eye candy messed up. He just didn't expect for all this.

This was a fun chick lit read that gave you much to enjoy. Sexy men. Sexy times. Laughs. Female with one track mind. A great friend that wants to make it all happen. I found Jackie to be a bit self-center, self-absorbed, selfish. She only seem to think of her wants. She did not seem to see or understand Vince. Vince on the other had was an all around good guy. With the exception of his male induced idea.

I found this to be a good start to this new series from Jessica Lemmon.
