This is an easy non-fiction book about river habitats. The text was fine for an easy non-fiction book, but the pictures were of very poor quality.

This is a very simple early reader book. The photographs are wonderful and completely natural in nature. The story is about two young bald eagles who are alone in their nest. They are hungry and want their mom. They also want to learn to fly. When mom comes back, they go on a test flight with her and learn quickly how to fly. A book to interest young readers in nature and bald eagles. There is also a lesson to learn about looking to your parents to teach you. My grandson loved the pictures but is a bit young for the other lessons. There is a wordlist at the back that can be used to reinforce the words. A good book for a grade one classroom library.

I did not like this book at all. Some of the photographs are beautiful, but I found that a number of them were fuzzy and it was difficult to figure out what they were of. I also found the writing was the sort of writing that people think is good for children, but is really just dull and pedestrian. The message is a good one, but this book was not a success.
