The story was okay but not the greatest I've read by Ms. Jones. I think I just couldn't get into it. Good overall writing.

I would suggest a review of the book. There are too many repetitive (thoughts), times when we have to assume they can read each others minds.. It is over dramatic and overblown. Also, long hair and goatee, this is no longer in fashion. I could not finish the book.

Loved the chemistry between the characters, and I liked the characters individually but as a couple I loved them. I adore an author who makes me side eye my kindle as I'm reading (as if I'm going figure out all the answers). Can't wait for the next.

Provocative, there isn't a lot of meat on these romance bones. I was frustrated with lines where the characters pour out their feelings without saying anything, (view spoiler) Nice start, but some elaboration would have been much appreciated.
I have enjoyed many a Lisa Renee Jones story or two (Tall, Dark and Deadly series is a favorite) and the plot of an attorney targeting and then falling for a woman he suspects of something sinister is intriguing, but I didn’t find Provocative as biting as I hoped.

I’ve been reading Lisa Renee Jones since 2012. I fell in love with her Inside Out series when If I Were You was first published and I was done for with both her writing and her characters. In Provocative Lisa Renee Jones takes the reader into the life of Nick Rogers, also known as Tiger. He’s a hot shot lawyer. One of the best and he never loses a case.
Tiger’s new case is a bit different because it’s personal. He’s investigating his dad’s sudden death and has a lead that takes him directly to Faith. All the evidence points to her. Although Tiger hated his father, he won’t rest until he finds out the truth and puts behind bars the person responsible for his death. He just doesn’t count on Faith being who she is and how she gets under his skin. She needs help and he can’t help himself but offer her a hand.
Faith is clueless about his true intentions but he knows when she finds out, all hell will break loose.
Lisa Renee Jones’ writing is fabulous (as always). She has a way with words that enthrall and draw the reader into the world of her characters. The suspense that’s built in, and the way the reader knows what’s going on, yet the main characters can be pretty clueless about what’s happening around them is amazing. As a reader, I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next and whether Faith would find out in the next chapter that Tiger wasn’t all he said, or what her father said in the letter he left behind for her. Provocative is an erotic thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seat.

I was on the fence about this book. Now am hooked First of all I am a fan of Chris and Sara and did not want to move away from them. Then I read the other couples in the spinoffs and did not really get that 'zing' I got from Chris and Sara. Don't get me wrong those couples were okay, but..... Anyways Tiger and Faith just like snuck up on me. Their intense attraction to each other, the erotic musings of Tiger, their coming together, and then the secrets. Always secrets with Lisa Renee Jones. The danger that is always present innocuously. There were two incidences I know will blow up in an epic proportion. Nothing important now, but I just have a feeling about it.
I know Nick or Tiger will have his secret blown all over his expensive suits and I can't wait. Do I mind the cliff hanger? Yes I do. Am I mad about? A little. I knew though this will be a two-book series. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for it.
Oh, also did I mention my one and only Chris Merit (behave Sara!) and Sara are in this book? Yes they are. Sweet.....

Lisa Rene Jones knows how to write romantic suspense. And she is the Queen of cliffhangers.
This story starts off fairly quickly and we discover plenty in the beginning. Nick meets Faith at an event at her winery. We know he is not there by chance. He believes Faith is guilty of a crime and he plans to prove it. He is a well know attorney who is know as Tiger and believes in "an eye for an eye" Little does he expect to develop feelings for her. Faith is closed off to him at first. Something has happened and she doesn't want to get close to anyone.
Faith is an artist who's late father wanted he to run the winery after his death. She is struggling with her love and passion for art with her love for her father and his wishes.
Plenty of twist and turns and I can't wait for book 2

A really well written book I became immersed in straight away. I am looking forward to the next book

Lisa Renee Jones did it again, another 5 star read. This book grabbed me from the first page, it's so intriguing with all the secrets and lies. Faith has the issues with the winery to deal with along with her up and coming artist life to deal with also. Nick is trying to solve the puzzle about his father's death plus falling for Faith who was his number 1 suspect. It ends in a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the conclusion in Shameless.

What an appropriate title for this series! From page one I was sucked in and trying to figure out what's about to happen. I love that about this author. She gives you little crumbs to lead you on a merry chase to the truth.
I have so many questions! Is the secret Faith is hiding have anything to do with the suspected murders? Or is she completely innocent? Is her agent involved? Her ex? Why is the bank hell bent on taking the winery away from her. The list of questions is long and I love it!
There is so much mystery and intrigue, you will not be bored. This also ends on a cliffhanger that is gearing up for something big, not only with the suspected murders but also between Nick and Faith.

Let me start by stating that this ends in a cliffhanger and it is one of those truly torturous ones were the author has you totally hooked with the storyline and the characters. I definitely wanted more of this delicious and suspenseful romance.
I was drawn in by Faith and Nick's characters so fast and it is a story that is full of secrets, lies and murder. All the elements are there -chemistry, passion, angst and a gripping storyline . Provocative indeed.
Now I am counting down the time until the release of the second book that concludes this story and I just know that there is a lot more yet to be revealed.
This is my first book by Lisa Renee Jones and I really loved it. Erotic, entertaining and great storyline.

Damn it, Lisa Renee Jones, you’ve done it to me again. You’ve drawn me down deep into a world so Provocative that I don’t want to leave! From the very first not so cute meet-cute to the last page, I was trapped, enraptured by the tale of Faith and Nick woven by the mistress of romantic suspense.
I loved Nick’s inner monologues—his “truths” about why he was pursuing Faith, and the information he sought. Nick is relatively black and white . . . well, black and white to the reader . . . we quickly understand his wants, needs and desires. And he certainly wants one Faith Winter, but he wants more than having her in his bed. He wants her truths, especially those she’s unwilling to share with him right now.
And Faith. Holy moly. That woman is quite the enigma. Wine heiress and extremely talented artist who’s caught between her dead father’s desire to keep the winery in the family and her true love of being an artist. But who’s the real Faith? Is the real Faith either one of those women? Both of them? Or is she hiding her true self from Nick and the rest of the world. God, I cannot wait to find out in Shameless in July!

The first book of Lisa Renee Jones' White Lies Duet is full of secrets and sex. Warning it does end in a cliffhanger, but happily Shameless is out in July.

Book review
Title: Provocative
Author: Lisa Renee Jones
Genre: Romance/Erotica
Rating: *****
Review: The opening to Provocative was amazing, we are introduced to Nick and Faith at a charity event. Nick is there to prove Faith killed his father and possibly her own mother but he finds himself intrigued and aroused by Faith and starts to pursue her for a totally different reason than when he arrived. I also really like the dual perspectives in this novel as it provides vital insight into each characters thoughts and emotions.
As we approach the 1/4 mark in the novel we learn more about Faiths background and the situation she now finds herself in all the while she is trying to repress the lustful feelings she has for Nick but fails everyone he shows up. As we cross the 1/4 mark in the novel the intense sexual game of cat and mouse Nick and Faith have been playing becomes too much and Faith agrees to a one night stand although Nick sees this as a challenge to bed her again. All the sexual tension leading up to this first intimate scene was amazing, the author gets the balance so right that it compels the reader to continue on.
As we approach the halfway mark in the novel Nick and Faith begin to understand each other properly through sex. While this novel has themes reminiscent of fifty shades of grey it is written exceptionally well and with a deeper and more emotional sub-plot. We also see Nick digging into Faiths past as he tries to figure out whether she has the ability and capacity to be a murder. While both characters hide their pasts and intentions from one another they both feel bare and exposed in the others presence. As we cross into the second half of the novel, Nick decides to help Faith with her debt problem and we also learn that Faiths mother was having an affair with Nicks father before her death but Faith doesn't know this.
As we approach the 3/4 mark in the novel we see Nick and Faiths arrangement turn into more of a relationship. We also see Nick trying to solve the mystery of his father's death and the missing money from the winery which ties with Faiths mother's death but we can feel something brewing because Nick is hiding this from her but I have a feeling she will find out about it sooner or later. Nick eventually finds out that someone may be everything and has Faith put under protective watch. As we enter the final section of the novel we learn that Nick may have a deeper connection to Faith than we realise and to her past as well and we can feel the tension building with each passing scene. The ending of this novel left us on a major cliffhanger with Nick debating whether to come clean to Faith which could mean losing her when he has just realised he lives her.
Overall this novel was great with the perfect balance of romance, mystery, intrigue and sex without being cheesy or cliche. I highly recommend this novel to reader of new adult romance or anyone looking to break into this genre.

Assuredly provocative, sexy, and suspenseful…
This is the first book in the White Lies Duet.
An attorney with the nickname of “Tiger”, Nick Rogers is not a man to make an enemy of. He earned the appellation for being known to rip your throat out if you were unwise enough to cross him or his clients. And this tiger is now on the hunt, targeting a woman he suspects guilty of more than one crime. He has researched everything he could about her but nothing he learned prepared him for the presence of the woman. Their chemistry is high voltage and instantaneous but that won’t deter him from unraveling her myriad secrets. The lust complication he can handle, the challenge she becomes he’ll take on.
Running the family winery was never Faith Winter’s aspiration, she’s an artist out of her element, but she loved her father and will honor his wishes. Circumstances have placed the winery at risk and just as she needed assistance one night an intriguing attorney crossed her path. This man elicited surprising desires that have no place in her life. He’s a sexy, sinful, unwanted distraction, his dominance and arrogance a dangerous combination, and instinct makes her wonder if he’s friend or foe.
I know when I read a book by this author that I’m going to be drawn in by her seductive writing, when the protagonists meet I’m immediately enthralled by their reactions to each other and my attention is captured and kept from that moment on: “…when her pale green eyes meet mine, any questions I have about this woman and the many I suspect she now has of me, are muted by an unexpected, potentially problematic, palpable electric charge between us…” But this book is not just a romance, it’s romantic suspense, so there are many secrets and betrayals to traverse, the characters intricately layered and things are not always as they seem. There’s much angst and passion that flows off the pages and this reader is dying to know how it all will end. Is she guilty or innocent? Will Nick’s truths when they become known destroy any chances they might have?
This book is appropriately titled, the interactions between the protagonists are definitely provocative; we are given both points of view which always enhances a read. The ending is a cliff-hanger that though relatively mild for this author was a good breaking point. This book ended at 85% on a kindle followed by a bonus, Rebecca’s Forgotten Journals, a novella showing us an additional glimpse into the life of a memorable character from the Inside Out series.

Provocative was my first book by Lisa Renee Jones and I don't think I could have chosen a better one.
It had everything I like - chemistry and an overload of sexual tension. A compelling and commanding hero and a strong and mysterious heroine.
I love a good guessing game and Lisa Renee Jones did a marvelous job of giving me some answers but not all, and so many things were still shrouded in mysteriousness until the very end - or not. It certainly kept me on the edge of my seat - which made this book even more thrilling.
The little glimpses I got made me hunger for more. More answers, and more Nick and Faith.
I thought Nick and Faith were a fantastic as couple. The pull between them felt genuine and palpable. Even so both had their own agenda and secrets that neither cared to share - they were both drawn to each other. A pull that neither could ignore.
The only drawback I could see was that Lisa Renee Jones's writing style was very elaborately descriptive - almost too descriptive - which was something I had to get used to. There were paragraphs that I had to skip entirely because they described what the characters did in minute detail. But like I said, that's something I got used to by the end of the book.
Book 1 kept me guessing - now I can't wait to read the conclusion in book 2.

A really intriguing, gripping and interesting read that had me hooked from beginning to end and I can't wait to get my hands on the conclusion of this story.

Provocative is an interesting start to what is to be a duet. I like the heroine, Faith Winter, she's smart and interesting. The hero, Nick Rogers (cue the Mr. Rogers jokes) is a typical alpha male: aggressive, a tad controlling, but interesting in his own right.
Faith is having a bad day when Nick meets her, or should I say, when he descends upon her with intent. Her winery is having an event when two sleazebags in suits surround her and try to get something out of her when Nick steps in and makes them leave. Apparently his reputation as Tiger is well known around town and it is enough to make the two men leave her alone. Faith has no idea who he is, but he most certainly knows who she is: the woman he suspects killed his father and her own mother. As the two journey into what starts as a sex only relationship, his heart is heavy with his secrets. And as the two start to fall for each other, I just cringed, knowing that when the shit hits the fan, it will be ugly and hearts will get shredded when the lies and secrets come out into the open.
The suspense is what really drives Provocative. Faith is interesting, and so is Nick, but the suspense and the mystery is what I like most about Provocative. I will admit I had been hoping for more explosive heat between Nick and Faith, and was disappointed that I didn't get it. Yes, they were sexy together, but everything was a bit muted for my tastes. The scenes were descriptive, but not very, and I was left wanting after each scene. There was far, far too much internal dialogue and I found myself skipping some of it in hopes of getting to the action, not just of the sexy type. The pacing is a bit off, the first half is pretty slow, but in the last half things start to get more interesting when they start to admit their feelings, not to each other, but to themselves.
I am looking forward to the conclusion. I hope they can reconcile their feelings. I hope Faith will be able to forgive Nick for his deception, and of course, I really, really hope that Faith is innocent as Nick is starting to believe she is.

4.5 stars

I really like Lisa Renee Jones' way of writing stories, her writing style is really good. It's not always I get really involved in her books, though. Provocative, though, is one of the ones I got hooked from start!
I wish some things went in a different direction and others were more explored, but I have a feeling they will be on the sequel!
I really liked the heroine and I'm VERY curious about her past. I want to mnow more of it. I like Nick *Tiger* too, but I confess I got tired of people calling him Tiger, it didn't work for me. And although we learn his reasons for keeping the secrets he does, I can't wait for them to be in the clear, because I saw from the start he'd regret them.
I couldn't put Provocative down! I'm REALLY curious with what the sequel will bring to the table. Hopefully it'll also hook me.
