A unique shifter romance, unlike anything else I've read. Dayne is a wolf shifter that is also suffering the family curse of being possessed by a demon. With the wolf heritage from his mother and the curse from his human father, he is the first of his kind. Now, two hundred years old and going through the motions of life, he is guilt-ed into saving a sixteen-year-old wolf shifter fleeing an arranged mating.

When she does the unthinkable and saves Dayne while he's in his demon form, his demon is now insisting that she is their savior. "Save us" the first thing his demon has ever said. But she's only sixteen, too young for everything the demon, wolf and he himself is interested in. Forced to follow her from a far, Dayne must wrap his mind around his need for this young woman and the reality of himself.

This novel is so unique. It does not at all end the way you would expect and is a great introduction to this series and author!

What can I say??!! This is a awesome story, told in Dayne's and Alana's own words. They went through trials and were tested to the limits of any expectation no one really could endure.
There are so many secrets throughout this book, it will make you angst,. it did me anyway.
Then there is Demon he thought Alana would save them, meaning Dayne the wolf and the demon; but how? Will they get heir happily ever after?
It is very well written and kept me on my toes, pretty intense. It will always amaze me how the author's books always flow and keep me interested. Because it isn’t all about sex is it??!!?? It is about how people actually interact with one another, what actually makes them tick and how to get in or out of the situation they got themselves into. Dayne and Alana, love strongly and harshly, They have no beginning or ending it is just.. It rips my heart out chews it up and then spits it out. I was sad, and angry; and wanted to go in the book and help them, help them all.
There is also another character Stone-- ie.. arrogant. He is out to destroy Alana, doesn't believe women should be enforcers, doesn't believe they should be around except maybe staying home knitting, to emotional to do what needs to be done.. Stone is a pompous ass to the lowest kind. What a male chauvinistic pig, oh yeah he will get his, just watch and see.
Anyway I loved it. I don’t know what else to say. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this awesome story by RC, she is a wonderful writer.

I am unsure as to whether this was supposed to be a stand-alone book. It seems like either there was another book before this or the author left or many important details that would have clarified a lot of things. Otherwise, it was a very engrossing read. I liked the writing style and the plot twists.

I’m finding it hard to rate and review RC Woods’ Dayne’s Demon. This isn’t a standalone novel, and I was expecting it to be. As such, we only get a part of the story, and it veers off in an unexpected direction halfway through. So, here’s my take on what we do have.

Dayne has been living in the woods as a rogue wolf exterminator. He’s built for solitude ever since he was possessed by a demon—one who has plagued his family’s male line for centuries. His self-imposed solitude comes to an end when he finds a black she-wolf in his woods.

Alana doesn’t want to follow the path her family has chosen for her. She wants to make her own decisions, and she flees. That’s where the course of her fate changes when she runs into the gruff Dayne and the secrets that live within him.

I was so intrigued by the blurb! There’s the demon curse, the loner wolf, the dark woodsy environment and the sweet woman who rocks his world. There were so many elements incorporated in this story, and it coalesces into a plot that’s so unique. It kept me glued to the pages late into the night. The characters are well-done too. Though Dayne is kind of an arse in the beginning (and okay, maybe later), I liked seeing a softer side come into play. Alana really shines too, coming more into her skin as the story develops.

But then the 51% mark came in.

The original blurb to this novel is misleading, and I can’t say more without giving away spoilers. I will say that the direction of the story changes—drastically. There’s plenty of action and subplots that come about. I thought some shuffling could have helped overall with clarity, but the twists did keep me reading. While I hoped the direction of the story would revert back, I was still intrigued by the storytelling and was wondering what was going to happen next. I finished the story a little disappointed—a little confused. There’s this storyline, however, hinted at the end that fairly crackles, so I’m intrigued by all the possibilities of where the story can go.

Full disclosure: Dayne’s Demon does not have an HEA. Now, an HFN? Definitely not in the traditional sense or the way a reader might expect from the blurb. This is why I can’t seem to pinpoint my review on this one. I feel like I need to read the next book first, and I’m hoping to see a reason why things worked out the way they did. Why the author took it the direction she did.

Overall, the storyline was very original, and I definitely enjoyed the author’s writing style. An imaginative book with some twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. For now, my rating stands at 3.5 stars.

Slow and not satisfying. I kept holding out hope for my HEA, but I didn't get it. Characters were not well enough developed. Story was repetitive and slow. Ending was horrible.

I started this book with high hopes as I love this fantasy type genre. When I got around 15% in I couldn't go any further due to the Wolf being in heat and the ages. Not my cup of tea unfortunately which is disappointing as the book was drawing me in to that point. Sorry.

I liked the premise of the book and thought it started out very promising! The pack dynamics was interesting, and I thought the interaction between Alana and Dayne was intriguing. However, I quickly became lost with all of the people surrounding Alana. I wasn't clear on the whole father situation (and after doing some research, this makes sense as I found out there are books before this one - should have been mentioned in the book summary on NetGalley. Instead it was marketed as Book #1). I was also confused by the whole Erik/Sydney/Alana love triangle. It felt unnecessary to the storyline. Ultimately I couldn't really enjoy the book, because I was too busy trying to understand what was going on.
