The Ninth Circle is an enjoyable and fast-paced read that will satisfy fans of the genre. C. A. Harland's skillful plotting and ability to keep readers guessing make for an entertaining read. Although the character development and thematic exploration could have been stronger, the book's relentless action and unexpected twists make it a solid choice for those seeking a gripping story telling.

I unfortunately could not get in to this book. Things were happening seemingly just to solve a problem and felt forced. I ended up putting this down without finishing.

This book is a mixture of fantasy and modern world crime. The premise of the story is that there are 9 circles of hell.
Tala and Aiva are on race to find their sister. This leads them into Dublin crime rings led by demons in a race to find their sister.
An intriguing story that fans of supernatural will enjoy.

The ninth circle was an interesting book that left me wanting a little more. The detail and character building were good but I didn't find myself truly connecting with the characters. I am however looking forward to the next book in the series and I'm hoping I find myself drawn to the characters a bit more.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately I have been unable to get into it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

"Fire" is a paranormal/urban fantasy story about three sisters that fight against demons and supernatural creatures.

This book was not for me. I couldn't get into it and the fact that it was about 444 pages didn't help at all either. The plot seemed like something very recycled off tv shows and other fantasy books, and the way the idea was executed didn't give it any spark of originality. When I read young adult books, I don't ask for much but here the dialogues between the characters seemed childish and totally immature. Also, the writing was something that I didn't enjoy. I felt like I was reading a story I had written when I was younger.

This is a book that could work for younger fantasy readers, but it wasn't really my cup of tea.

I had a hard time finishing this one. The writing seemed forced, and the plot was tired. It didn't stand out from the crowd of other supernatural books.

Hard to get into. The characters were interesting, but I found inconsistencies in the plot. I only read about halfway when I, unfortunately, lost interest. I think developing characters, and their relationships would make this book's potential truly shine! DNF

Unfortunately I was not able to get to the book before it was archived. It sounded very good and I have a feeling it would have been gripping with a good story and good characters. I wish I could have gotten to it, and I'll keep it in mind the next time I buy books.

This gives a very similar taste like the tv series Supernatural. Demon hunting in urban setup is always enjoyable. Loved the fluid writing style and hope for more to come.

This one wasn't really for me. I definitely think this about me rather than the book, because I think urban fantasy fans will absolutely love this one. The story follows three sisters - The Morgensterns - who are night hunters (demon hunters) who hunt supernatural beings - vampires, demons etc. The story is pretty fast paced and full of epic fighting moments for these kick ass sisters but for some reason I just couldn't get into the story. It gave me Charmed/Supernatural vibes so I think fans of those will really love this one, but unfortunately I couldn't click with it.

A supernatural-esque look at family bonds - which I quite enjoyed and was a refreshing twist from the usual - with much structural detail borrowed from Dante's Inferno (a nice throwback to see done with female leads). Formulaic, in that it read very much just like an episode of Supernatural, but interesting enough to see the sisters' personalities come out as they weave through their quest to find Hartley. I wish we'd gotten more detail at the various stages than we did, and perhaps cutting down the number of supernatural creatures could have helped to streamline the adventure. Still, a fun read, particularly if you enjoy the show.

Demon Hunters and adventure. Sadly, this didn't really work for me. Still, a very interesting premise. I wish I had loved it more.

It wasn't horrible at all, but perhaps I already had the other supernatural stronger story that makes me like this book less. The book is a total absence of romance, and from the beginning it has so many action scenes. Overall the writing is good and it's got a great plot. Suits for fans of the supernatural and urban fantasy fans.

A lot if people say this reminds them of supernatural however having not seen that show I can say I will have to watch it as this book is brilliant.
It does feel reminiscent of City if bones series/ shadow hunters and Claire Farrells 'Thirst' series however it has its own spin on a world with deamons with some mystery and adventures.
Would definitely read more by this author.

This was a fun read! It kind of reminded me of an episode of Supernatural, but with sisters instead of brothers, so I guess kind of like Charmed? Basically, it was a lot of fun! There is a ton of action throughout, but the actual plot was lacking. I really enjoyed the final chapters, when everything was finally coming to a head, but then one of the major plot points kind of just fizzled out. Unless, of course, it will be brought back up in later books (one can hold out hope). I will likely read more about this team of sisters!

I could not get into this. The first chapter was quite dry and the rest didn't live up to my expectations. DNF at 15%

Starting the book with being awoken is cliche so I was not impressed with this from the beginning. I kept reading to give it a chance, but I was never able to get into this book. It has a lot of action to begin with, but I just didn't care about Tala all that much. I did not finish reading this book. Since I didn't finish it I did not post a review on my blog.

Tala Morgenstern lives for the hunt, embracing her heritage as a demon hunter. When her younger sister, Hartley, disappears while on the trail of her long-lost father, Tala must seek the help of her other sister Aiva, who has turned her back on the underworld of magic and hunting. Suspecting demonic involvement, Tala and Aiva race to find Hartley before she can be claimed by hell. Their search takes them deeper into the bowels of Dublin’s criminal underground, where the gangs are led by demons, and the currency is souls. With each Circle of hell bringing new dangers, and new revelations about their own place in the demon hunting world, Tala and Aiva have to rely on each other if they are to stand a chance of fighting their way to the Ninth Circle, and the demon lord who is waiting for them.
The book was decent. The plot was not bad. I liked both main characters.
