I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE is the Oxford Series at its finest. Taylor Carr is a woman on a mission, and only one man can simultaneously stand in her way, but also help her get exactly what she never knew she always wanted: him. Nick Ballantine is Taylor's ultimate match: he's feisty, hot, and won't back down from what he wants, and what he wants is one Taylor Carr. I could not put this one down. I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE is everything Oxford in one perfect package: it is hot, intriguing, and will make you want even more love stories from Lauren Layne.

This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Taylor and Nick. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

What a fun read. First, there is Taylor, who is working at an ad agency in Manhattan and feels like she has the perfect job. The thing is that on her first day she meets a man in the elevator who described her to her face like an ice princess. Nick works at the same agency part time and also as a bartender, and is also a writer. All of these jobs for some reason seem to bother Taylor and from the first day forward they are constantly going back and forth, Nick seems to think it as playful banter. Nick is always trying to fix things or help people, but when he finds out that she is dating Bradley another co-worker he is trying to figure out why. On the day when she finds out that her Aunt who raised has passed away suddenly it is Nick who gives her words of encouragement. On her big day of moving into a new apartment and one with her boyfriend, he leaves a letter saying he can’t move in and goes back to his girlfriend before her another work employee. Now stuck and need a roommate, you guessed it Nick moves in and this is where the fun and games really take off. They become a couple after a while and you find out so many things about the two of them. Everything is good until he has to go to Oregon for a book convention and see his family, asking her to go with him she declines. This is where the story takes a turn when he gets back and walks in on her and Bradley in a conversation. Not getting it all everything falls apart and does not go as either one of them planed for the night. Now it is really up to Nick to find a way to right the ship. Can he do it? Read this fun story about two people growing up together, there are a few twists at the end which add for a good ending. A really good book. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE Lauren Layne. I basically read anything she publishes without looking at the synopsis. I've been obsessed with the Oxford series for a long time. Unfortunately, this has been the only book in the series that didn't wow me. It was good, the characters were good, so don't get me wrong. But how Lauren Layne writes, which means an unforgettable plot, amazing characters, and that special LL spark, this book didn't have it. I still recommend it because it was truly good!

Enenies-to-lovers romance. This is part of the Oxford series. The story of Nick and Taylor. Taylor works in advertising department at Oxford. She is sassy, strong, no funny business kind of girl (The Devil Wears Prada-ish…). Nick is a freelance writer for Oxford/bartender. Nick’s past relationship was a big crash and burn, he is not interested in relationship. The timing was not quite right at the beginning … the chemistry he has for Taylor is intense – sparks, explosives, fireworks the whole nine yard. Over all, sexy, funny, romantic, entertaining read.

Nick, Nick, Nick..... Oh do I love Nick. I have been waiting patiently for his storyline and I am sooooo thrilled he ended up with Taylor. This group of characters makes you feel as if you are part of their group, simply by reading the book.

I truly enjoyed this book! The back and forth and then the unconventional living arrangements were different and something I haven’t read in a while. You definitely don’t have to have read the others in the series to like this book. But, I definitely will be going back and doing that now!

I wanted to love this book as I was excited to meet this new-to-me author. Unfortunately, I didn't connect well with the storyline or the characters. I could not, sadly, complete this book.

LL does it again! Another Oxford hit!

Nick Ballantine is a newer addition to Lauren Layne's world of suits and striped ties and pencil skirts and stilettos. He's the rather gorgeous and rugged, part-time bartender and freelance writer for Oxford Magazine, when he meets Taylor Carr, the sharp-witted, ball-busting brunette, with perfectly manicured nails and red lipstick to match. She's beautiful. but untouchable to him. except he usually can't think of anything else he wants to do more.

They have many hot sparring sessions in the office and at the occasional social outing. But we all know--- that's just code for sexual tension. And they have it in SPADES! But they never have good timing... when they want to become more. There's always a girlfriend or boyfriend.

This book starts in the past and travels to the future to when Taylor is preparing to move into an apartment with her long-standing boyfriend, Bradley Calloway, but she soons finds out from a note (FYI: BOYFRIENDS SHOULD NEVER DO THIS!) that he doesn't want to move in with her and wants to break up, and totally disappears after that. Well, that stinks! I feel bad for poor Tay! But she's strong and tries to make the best of it; however, she stills needs a roommate. Here comes our boy, Nick. :)

I do love a enemies to roommates to lovers story. But wait- we haven't gotten there yet! HAHAHA

There is even more sexual tension between these two since there's tighter quarters and fireworks go off! These two crazy kids were always meant to be. I know it and you know it! They just take a bit longer to figure it out. Ex-boyfriends coming back with their tail between their legs (hate him!) and pretend baby mamas. Jealousy and insecurity. Pride and stubbornness.

Thank God they come to their senses to realize their love for the other and they can have the ol' happy ending they deserve. :)

I was given an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I always enjoy Lauren Layne's books and am a big fan of the Oxford series. This one is a fun enemies to lovers premise, a slow burn romance between two part time co-workers, with some sexy heat and touching emotional scenes. The heroine doesn't like to show emotions so it makes it hard for her to open up while the hero is generous to a fault and people (women) take advantage of that. They make a well balanced couple and I loved how their romance played out. Witty banter is always welcome and Lauren Layne is an expert. It's a thoroughly enjoyable read!

It's Lauren Layne. Of course I loved it. What more can I say other than I need more in this series?!

I really love Lauren Layne and in particular this series. I thought that this relationship had that not-quite-enemies to lovers thing that I enjoy. And roommates are always fun to see get together. I always enjoy an office romance too. So this kind of had it all for me. I love the banter as well.

I’m a fan of Lauren Layne’s work, and enjoyed this book in the Stiletto/Oxford world quite a bit.

Taylor Carr is starting a new job in advertising and is eager to get started. With a stifled upbringing , Taylor is not sure how to interact with the friendly demeanor by everyone she has met. The only person to rub her the wrong way is Nick Ballantine who works at the agency periodically.

Something inside Nick flares every time he interacts with Taylor, he wants he but she has made it clear she doesn't want him. Nick bides his time though and eventually Taylor is as taken with Nick as he is her. However Nick has a past that shadows him and an old flame of Taylor's is about to ruin everything.

This was entertaining and filled with wonderful characters. It took awhile to soften to Taylor but you get why she is the way she is but her level of contempt for Nick drags a bit. Overall I thought the chemistry was off the charts and was waiting to see what would happen with this couple.

It's official. Lauren Layne is not allowed to ever finish the Oxford series. While there are books in her Stilettos series that I have yet to read, I adore the men and women of Oxford and I want more. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only reader who feels this way. *wink* I loved I Knew You Were Trouble. I was in 'enemies-to-lovers' heaven! The chemistry... Sexual tension... Verbal foreplay... Put it all together and you get this little beauty. As much as I friggin' loved Nick (whom we met in the previous Oxford book) and Taylor, I think my favorite element on this book was the way Lauren introduced their history. Rather than flashbacks that are woven through the book, readers are treated to mini-chapters that catches us on their explosive past encounters. They were perfect. Not too short that if felt as if pieces were missing, yet not so long that you'll get bored. Short and concise. Now I really want Brit and Hunter's story. I think they would wind up the series perfectly.

I Knew You Were Trouble was yet another fabulous Lauren Layne romance. No one does verbal foreplay and sexual chemistry quite like her.

Review:
I'm just loving Lauren Layne new release, I Knew You Were Trouble. It brings sassy with a twist of humor in one.
I knew You Were Trouble will introduce Taylor and Nick coming together. Taylor is definitely a sassy woman that has no trouble asking what she wants and how she wants it. But it does give her a cold personality towards other people. However, she's definitely a sweet person that loves to take care of everyone but she has a hard time giving it off to other people. Nick definitely knows how Taylor is but it's going to take some time for her to let him in. Nick definitely is an easygoing guy but he definitely has some baggage to him that may be unexpected. He does not share a lot but it's going to take some time that he will finally let go and reveal his true baggage to Taylor.
They may be unexpectedly pair together but they definitely have strong chemistry between them. It's going to be unexpectedly but definitely hot and steamy. I Knew You Were Trouble is definitely a fun read while it has a twisted humor too. Five stars.

Life has been pretty busy these days but it doesn't stop me from reading one of LL's latest books!

I Knew You Were Trouble has two feisty characters with a hate love relationship but really is a loving relationship. Although they may get at each other most of the time...it's because of all the tension and electricity pulsing through their veins. Their chemistry is magnetic because even though they may think they can get away from each other, life always draws them together. There is something about Nick that will draw you to him too. And you can't turn away ;)

Another fantastic read by LL. I don't know how she will step up her game every time...wait I do know how...it's because she great at what she does!

I am always happy to read a book from this author, she is a must read! The story has great potentials to be an epic story but unfortunately the main characters didn't impress me. I couldn't connect with them and this make me not to enjoy the story as much as I wanted.

This is the fourth book in the Oxford series and each one is a standalone, although all the characters are interconnected. I love reconnecting with this fun loving group of characters. The guys are hot, smart and when they meet the right woman, they are totally committed.

Taylor has just starting her new job at Oxford, the top selling men's magazine. Taylor is smart and beautiful but she is also insecure and afraid to show her feelings. She has an icy exterior and acts aloof and prickly.

Nick also works for Oxford and when Taylor meets Nick she instantly dislikes him. Everything about Nick seems to irritates Taylor and she isn't sure why. Even though Taylor dislikes Nick, she is aware of him whenever he is around and this annoys her. Nick is not the type of guy Taylor is usually attracted to, but there is something about him that messes with her head and flusteres her.

Nick and Taylor continually bicker and make sarcastic remarks to each other. There is a strong attraction between them but neither one of them wants to admit it. Bad timing and missed opportunities would summarize their relationship. Nick is laid back, fun and easy to like. Taylor on the other hand, is tough and standoffish and I found it hard to relate to her, although over time, she grew on me. This is another entertaining story filled with engaging characters by Lauren Layne.
