3 ok stars- sometimes things work... and sometimes they don't as you wish. This had another fall for boss/CEO and he wasn't too nice and she had to work for him...The chemistry seemed off for me.

Oliver is proof that being rich doesn't make you happy. He's lost his family and his ability to trust. He is numb to life until he meets Holland. Holland knows it's a man's world but she has a plan to make her way to the top. How these two get through to each other and come out the other side better people makes this story enjoyable. It's a hard fight but worth it when you meet the right person.

There is nothing more emotionally satisfying than a book that dissects a relationship and exposes the characters true self.
I loved reading this story of a man on the brink of a break down and whose world will be turned upside down. Oliver Cody is sexy, smart and struggling with news after a tragic loss. Holland will impact his life and show him that things aren't always as they seem.
It's great to plan but sometimes it's the unplanned events that matter the most and change our lives for the better!
Don't miss this must read!

This was the first time I have read a Delancey Stewart novel and it will not be the last. I really enjoyed this book and it was a good story, had great characters and I enjoyed the overall feel of the book.
Oliver Cody has everything he could ever want - the job, the money, the close relationship with his parents and everything seems to be going in the right direction until it suddenly isn't. Oliver receives the worst news of his life and it throws everything into a tailspin, including everything Ollie always thought he knew about himself.
Holland O'Dell has always wanted to succeed in business and graduating near the top of her class, she hoped to get the job she deserved, but gender lines proved that would not be as easy as she had hoped. She decided to take a job just to get her foot in the door and then she'll prove why she should have the job that she originally applied for and didn't get.
When Holland begins to work on the project that could propel her work-life forward, she ends up meeting a guy who is willing to help her, but she's not sure that she should trust him. As they get to know one another, they see that they are very compatible, both with the work she's doing and also in a romantic sense, but will secrets that Ollie is keeping derail both her aspirations for her job and their romance before it really gets off the ground?
I enjoyed this book for so many reasons, one of which was because it explored the idea of equality in the workplace and that is so important these days. Regardless of gender, if you are capable of doing the job, you should have that opportunity. This book showed that, but also showed that you can have the other things outside of the office too. And, just because you think your life is the way it should be, things happen and people come into your life exactly when they are supposed to. I look forward to reading another Delancey Stewart book soon!

I was pretty stoked to read Mr. Big when I read the synopsis on Random House’s NetGalley page. I am a sucker for a romance that has a good plotline, a conflicted hero, and a strong heroine. I really thought that I was getting that when I started reading Mr. Big. But, I knew something was off after I read the first chapter.
Oliver rubbed me the wrong way. He decided, before the book began, that he needed a break from a company that he founded. That he was tired of being the CEO. So, he took off on a 6-month vacation. Then he gets a phone call that his parents were killed in a car accident and he found out something that turned his world upside down. I was alright with the book up to that point. It was how he dealt with that news turned me from him. The way he acted (not the way he felt because I could 100% see where he was coming from) was the biggest turn-off. It killed the rest of the book for me. Nothing like reading a scene where a grown man is throwing a temper tantrum by throwing potted plants around. I actually sympathized with the plants.
On the other hand, I really liked Holland. She was feisty and she was not afraid to stand up for herself. The scene in the café, when Oliver decided to cut ahead of everyone in line, perfectly illustrates my point. She went over and gave him a piece of her mind…which is what he needed. I also agreed with her views on women in the workplace. She also heard her biological clock ticking and as a joke, her sister (well foster-sister) brought over a few sperm bank. Let’s just say that her sister’s joke kind of bit Holland in the but during a crucial point in the book.
The romance between Holland and Oliver didn’t really do it for me. Maybe it was because of how I felt about Oliver (see above paragraph). The relationship seemed forced and I didn’t feel that there was any chemistry between them. The sex, while hot, didn’t do anything for me. I couldn’t get into it. Again, my feelings for Oliver were the reason I couldn’t get into it and usually sex scenes are my favorite scenes in these books.
Now, I was surprised by what happened later in the book. There were hints leading up to what happened but it was still a surprise. As was Oliver’s reaction to it. Which again, went in line with his idiot ness. Honestly, I didn’t believe it when he had a change of heart months later.
I am going to complain about the cover for a minute. It had nothing to do with the book. Oliver was blonde haired while the male model has brown hair. It does drive me little nuts when the covers do not have anything to do with the books.
How many stars will I give Mr. Big: 2
Why: A very unlikable hero, a likable heroine and an ok plotline
Will I reread: No (but I will read other books by the same author)
Will I recommend to family and friends: No (but I will recommend books from the author)
Age range: Adult
Why: Sex, language, violence

LOVED this book! I love how Holland, despite a very rough start in life, had a plan and steps to achieve it. She's burning the midnight oil working on step one of her plan when she sees an arrogant jerk, Oliver, be rude to her co-workers. Oliver, however, is still reeling from the death of his parents and the secret their death exposed.
As Holland and Oliver continue to encounter each other, they build a relationship built on a glaring omission so significant that it feels like a lie. Throughout the novel, Holland and Oliver continue to have a push-pull relationship as one challenge after another spins their world around.
I felt connected to the characters and invested in their story. This book grabbed my attention from the first page and kept it until the very last page - - so much so that I was sorry when it ended.
This is a must read for fans of the genre. I've added the author to my must read authors' list.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I have to say like the others the blurb drew me in. But this book was absolutely and unequivocally boring! I didn't understand Oliver's anger at being adopted. It's bad enough he had everything handed to him on a silver platter. And he bails because he doesn't know what to do with himself. But when he is called back home and he learns the truth, which the reader doesn't learn until many chapters in, he gets utterly stupid. I kept waiting for the pace to pick up, but with each page turn, it got worse. Holland was a pain in the butt too. Nothing likable about either of them.

This a gusty first time read by this author was wonderfully written & so full of emotions. The secrets that unexpected deaths bring turns Oliver's life upside down. Already on the edge of not knowing what he wanted from life he's crushed by a secret his parents held, until he meets Holland. She's got her life planned out ahead of her but it's taking longer than she thought it would. When she meets Oliver she's shocked how fast her dreams are coming true, but secrets get in the way & ruin not only a fledgling relationship but the memories of a lifetime. The up & down emotions of this story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely recommend.

Before I start my review, let me just say, please don’t let the cover or even the title of the book give you any indication of what the contents of the book are. Because I know this looks like some giant sexy book, but I swear there is more to it!
With that being said, let me just say that this book was surprisingly delightful. Mr. Big is about a CEO who lost his parents and with that his identity. It’s not until he meets fierce, plan-everything, Holland that he actually starts to get his life back together.
What I loved about this book was how much both our characters battled with their own worth from how they were raised and who their parents or family was. This wasn’t a whirlwind romance between a CEO and a woman out to prove herself—okay, it was, but that wasn’t the entire premise of the story. It had depth in a way that hit familial issues as well as what you do when you find out you are into your boss.
Oliver/Hale was seriously a huge dick. It wasn’t something that went away either. There are times that he is a shining example of what some women might dream in a man. But oh my gosh, sometimes he really is a self-centered ass hole. He really was a man who acted like the world revolved around him, and sadly when he wanted to do something for Holland, I almost felt like he was doing something for Holland almost as a self-gratification to be feel like, I did this, I put that smile on her face, even if it wasn’t explicitly said in the text. It was honestly, just the vibe I got.
It was sort of hard not to root for Holland. Here was this selfless, hardworking, undervalued woman taking the bull by the horns. She had a plan and she was going to make it happen. There were times when I wanted to grab her by the shoulders and shake her yelling, “of course you got here on your own merit!” But alas, she is a woman working in a big business that favored men.
This book was delivered everything I expect out of a good chick-lit novel. A story about a girl getting her life together, no matter how hard the world batted against her. A steamy romance that wasn’t a huge factor to change it from chick-lit to erotica. A gripping moment that has your heart aching right along with our protagonist. It’s there, it’s the whole package. It wasn’t the best I ever read, but it was most certainly entertaining and moving.

So there's this... At times, yes, the story was slow. At times, I wondered where the fire between the two characters had gone. However, this is much more than a typically HEA romance. It's very much more true to life and how the characters feel than it would be as written from a romantic fantasy standpoint. I literally cried at the end when one "question" was resolved. I won't say more than that to avoid revealing a spoiler, but the end of this book more than made up for any small thing I found lacking or frustrating.

The choice of a cover photo that looks vaguely like he's wearing a diaper aside, this was a fun read. It felt much more serious than I'd been expecting, and that's a good thing--I was expecting billionaire erotica, and I got a romance (with sex) about families and growing up.

Enjoyed reading. Could not put down this emotional read. Holland is determined to make her mark in the company not knowing that she's already noticed. She just wants to be noticed for her work. Oliver is grieving and angry. There's an instant attraction when they meet. Oliver has secrets and insecurities that challenge not only their relationship (both personal and professional) and their future. There were times I really did not like Oliver but he redeem himself in the end. Recommended read

Oliver Cody's life has been a lie. Now he is in a fog letting the business built up from the bottom by his family go down hill. Until he sees Holland at the coffee shop in his building. Things start looking up even though she has no idea who he is.
Holland is working of refiguring the computer system of Oliver's company to make it better. As this hot guy is helping her she has no idea he is the head of the company. Together they make the system into something incredible and her life is getting better by the minute.
Except when the truth comes out than all hell breaks loose. Will they make it through the fire? This is a read all night book, you will not be able to put it down.

The cover, the title and the blurb drew me to this book and I believe I let myself judge the book by its cover!! I've not read any other books by the author but I do like her style. Luckily the cover and blurb lived up to my expectation. Great book.

I have never read anything by this author before, but after reading the blurb, I decided to give it a go. In the beginning, I really liked the story. I enjoyed meeting Holland and Oliver. I loved the banter and interactions between the two of them. The tension was great and couldn't wait to see where their story was going to go.
As the story progressed, I did start to have some issues. The pacing became slow, and I just wasn't into all the back and forth between Oliver and Holland. I love good angst and the will they/won't they as much as the next person, but for some reason, I just wasn't feeling it between Oliver and Holland. The angst was missing and all the back and forth was driving me nuts. Also, I don't feel as though Oliver stayed true to himself throughout the story. I loved the cocky jerk he was in the beginning of the story and as the story progressed, I don't feel that he was as strong and as confident as he was in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I totally get that being with Holland would change him, but I missed the confident, cocky man. Also, Oliver made some pretty questionable decisions and assumptions about a certain issue that really turned me off. And When Oliver does get his head out of his ass, Holland forgives him way too quickly and that just really bothered me. In the end, both the characters and overall story left me wanting more.
Aside from this issues that I had with this book, I will say that it does deal with some heavy issues and I can kind of understand some of Oliver's behavior. I think this book had a lot of potential, but it just missed the mark for me. I think this is definitely a situation where this book will work for some, but not for others. Even though this book was a miss for me, I'm still glad that I took a chance and checked it out.

Oliver Cody whos been away from how to figure out what he really wants in life. His time is cut short when he told his parents where in an accident. Oliver believed his whole life he was one person to find out he someone else really threw him for into a rage. CEO of his firm He was angry for being lied to his whole life now left alone hes straying to figure out who and where he belongs.
Holland who was brought up in foster home not had the best life but shes takes nothing for granted. She works hard to get ahead to prove she can do what men do but better. Also she has a plan she plans everything. So what happens when life hands you a new plan.
How the 2 meet when Oliver cuts in line a the coffee shop in his building. To say the least Holland gives him a piece of her mind. Oliver cant help but to be like shes not taking his crap. Lately hes been less than stellar mood. Since meeting Holland hes been more manageable to deal with life she is his light the more hes with her hes calm.
Life was good till twist and turns When Oliver thinks he being lied to again. He turns on the one person who loves him. Will the be able to forgive and move on

Mr. Big by Delancey Stewart is a well written if formulatic contemporary romance book with a fun plot but slightly forgettable characters. Overall I just wished it had more. More depth of character, more action, more witty dialog, more steam and more memorable in general. But it's a good pick for light reading. I appreciated the opportunity to read the book and Thank Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I loved this book!! It was a very sweet story. The characters were fantastic I especially loved Holland's spunk when her and Oliver met. The story of their journey was so intriguing I couldn't put it down. Beautifully written.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a sweet heartwarming read.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review by Net Galley and Loveswept.

This romance novel was about two damaged lovers and how their love eventually healed their souls so they could find their HEA. Oliver was a CEO that was on an extended leave from his company to find himself. A tragic accident forces him back where Holland, a new employee grabs his attention. She is a former foster child and is working hard to prove herself in a man dominated company by inventing new badly needed software for the company to survive. Holland does not know that Oliver is the CEO for the first part of the story.
Oliver acts like a immature jerk most of time and Holland forgives him repeatedly.. The reader does not know if their love can conquer all their challenges and issues till the end of the story. The ending was good and saved the book from just being a OK read.
