Another Hot Read by Ms. Carew
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

What's better than 1 fireman?
2 firemen!!!
Rikki is new to town, after losing the love of her life to a fire and his occupation she decides to search for a change. She finds herself in the small town that her best friend Cassie resides in. Cassie mentions to Rikki about a fireman calendar that would be a perfect start project for pursuing photography. Rikki being the shy closed off woman she is has her doubts she would be good at photographing half-naked men but decides to do it anyway.
She then meets Simon and Carter.
Simon and Carter have been best friends for years. They do everything together and that includes EVERYTHING. When they see Rikki walk through the doors of the bar they know they must have her. But the question is...Which one gets her? Rikki has other plans though, she isn't going to pick one.
She's going to choose both.
Opal Carew is amazing when it comes to writing hot steamy sex scenes. The hot factor of this novel was extreme and did not disappoint.
BUT............
I did have a few issues with this novel. I was intrigued through the first half. I loved how Rikki was sheltered and a tad bit naive, she was the classic virgin. But then somewhere through the novel I started to lose sight of who Rikki was, he character started changing and became wishy-washy. I also disliked how predictable this novel was.
Even though I had a few issues I loved Simon and Carter. They were extremely caring to Rikki and not only her physical needs but also her emotional needs. They also helped her see that the past is able to be left in the past and moving on is not a crime.
Overall, I liked this novel but didn't love it.

I tried to like this novel but it just fell short. I give 3 stars for the steamy sex scenes but that’s all I enjoyed about it. The heroine Rikki felt too whiny and obnoxious. I seriously felt like she needed to go see a therapist because she clearly has no coping mechanisms to speak of. The rest just felt cliché. A sexy fireman calendar, that pushy friend who speaks in sexual innuendos and thinks that everything can be solved by getting laid, and even a wet t-shirt shower seen. All in all, it felt like a porno come to life. If that’s your thing, then you will love this novel but don’t expect any depth. Though come to think of it, the author warns the reader of that.

I loved reading the fabulous and awesome romance story by the best selling author Opal Carew. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reading copy from NetGalley.
When Rikki's best friend, Cassie, for her help with making a firefighter's calendar, Rikki is hesitant at first but then agrees to be the photographer. All of the fireman are perfect but two of them catch Rikki's libido and heart, Carter and Simon. Carter and Simon pursue Rikki, but Rikki doesn't want to get involved them because of her first love.
Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, engaging storyline, and a must read love story.

Rikki lost the love of her life to a fire, and she struggled with reconnecting to a new man. She eventually feels a strong connection to not 1 but 2 men she meets in a bar. The threesome need to work through some fear to determine if they could stay together. I had some difficulty believing a virgin in her mid 20s would would be OK with a menage scenario, but I guess we can’t help it if we’re in love with two people simultaneously. Thanks to netgalley and publisher for ARC.

Be sure to bring the fire extinguisher when you read "HEAT". A good hot story by Ms. Carew.

3.5 stars
If you're looking for a lovefest this is the book for you. A hot little MMF ménage with delicious firefighters that will heat you up - As long as you can get over some of the idiosyncrasies that the author chose to give the female lead.
A cute little virgin that hangs on to the past for years and yet takes to hot sex like a true professional.
The guys- totally yummy.
The sex- super hot and loaded with it.
The story- entertaining yet a bit off base from what Opal usually puts out.
Overall – The guys make it worth the read.

After the last Opal Carew book that I read and totally loved this one left me a slight bit disappointed.
Yes I love the whole HOT firefighters part but I just couldn't warm to Rikki. She just didn't seem real. I thought it was unbelievable for a girl that just lost her virginity and had no experience seem to go from virgin to totally porn star. The sex scenes were hot enough but after while they just seemed to blur into the same thing.
Overall a good enough read just didn't knock my socks off.

Opal Carew is very good in her short tales of instalove with lots of lust and passion. She is particularly good at creating tales where two handsome, sexy men fall for the same woman and are more than happy to share her. In Heat, Rikki is trying to start her life over, moving to a new town close to her best friend. There, she takes her skills as a photographer to a new level working with Cassie on a volunteer project, where she agrees to photograph firemen for a sexy calendar. Having loved and lost her first love to a fire, Rikki was not interested in starting things over with not one but two sexy firefighters, but fate had other plans for her. In this steamy tale of love, Rikki loses her virginity and heart to the heroes of her new hometown. Now Rikki will need to fight to keep them both or walk away from everything she didn’t know she could ever have again… A sexy short read.

Nothing about this book worked for me, unfortunately. The heroine was a god awful whiny ninny.

Rikki lost her first love to his job as a firefighter and decides she can never bear a loss like that again by getting involved with another firefighter. But while out with her new roommates she meets Simon and Carter and feels an instant attraction and wonders what it would feel like to be with both of them.
Her friend gets her an assignment of photographing some firefighters for a calender. Arriving at the fire station she discovers that Simon and Carter are firefighters and she tries to back away from the attraction between them. But Simon and Carter know what they want and will not stop until they can convince Rikki to give them a chance. They all have a very enjoyable time convincing each other.

Two hot firefighters lusting after Rikki but she isn't so sure if she can handle their job and the possible heartbreak. The three give their steamy relationship a go but soon Simon wants to protect Rikki and leave. After finally realizing what they have, they all agree to make it work.
A great read with some extremely steamy scenes.

Rikki is making life changes new city, career, friends and new boyfriends. At a bar she meets Simon and Carter who finally set her heart beating faster after years of freezing out any guy who approached her. As they get closer she discovers they are both firefighters who was her dead fiance career. Heat is hot and shows the conflict that Rikki goes through as she falls in love with two guys at once.

Not sure what to think.
The plot sounded good, however, the book fell flat.
Girl's first love dies when she's 17yrs old. After almost a decade, girl moves to a new town where one of her college girlfriends lives to start over. College girlfriend hooks her up with a photography gig....then the story falls apart.
Some kind of sexual intuition kicks in whenever Virgin Girl sees a hot guy. Even though she's NEVER had sex before she's sucking cock like a porn star and has mastered talking dirty. She doesn't want to be with another Firefighter, yet ends up with two. She takes to sex like a duck to water and doesn't even bat an eye at double penetration.
The story was a little to cheesy for my taste, not to mention the overuse of the word cockhead.
Sorry folks, not a fan.

I'm so bored. I don't think I've ever said that about one of Ms. Carew's books. I don't care what happens to any of them. Not even all her friends or the other hot firefighters, and there's normally at least one that I wanted to know more about. Oh well, on to the next book

Firefighters are not really a big part of my imaginary, however the story in this book was interesting enough to keep my attention going and the hot scenes did not disappoint.
All in all these were a few hours spent.

Mixed feelings with this one.
The story starts with the heroine moving town to start a fresh after heartbreakingly loosing her fiancé. She comes across socially awkward super shy and a little Naive but sweet. What I didn't understand nor connect with is how she went from a virgin to a seasoned porn star after the first time she had sex. Now yes it happens in books a lot but the way it's wrote just comes across very unbelievable. Also the whole kissing two other guys while realising her love for simon and carter confused me, it also annoyed me because she didn't really seem apologetic for it either.
Simon and Carter are super hot super cute and very honourable on there first encounter with Rikki. However I just didn't connect with them either I don't know what it was but the characters didn't sit right with me. There constant back a forth feelings, the whole Simon's staying away to protect her I don't know it just felt unrealistic and I didn't dig it.
The story is good the charters are ok and the sex is done pretty great with the exception of some cringy words like "canal" not sexy in my opinion lol!. I enjoyed it ok but just didn't connect with it enough to love it. It's not something I'd regret reading but also not something I'd pick up again in a rush.
I kindly received this ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I usually love Opals novels. I struggled with this one. I was over the lead female repeating herself over and over again. She would keeping telling everyone and going on a mental dialogue about having strong feelings that it's meant to be . It was annoying.
For once the romance was too easy and had me rolling my eyes. Simon and carter are more like females. There is nothing alpha about these men.
