Not sure what to think.
The plot sounded good, however, the book fell flat.
Girl's first love dies when she's 17yrs old. After almost a decade, girl moves to a new town where one of her college girlfriends lives to start over. College girlfriend hooks her up with a photography gig....then the story falls apart.
Some kind of sexual intuition kicks in whenever Virgin Girl sees a hot guy. Even though she's NEVER had sex before she's sucking cock like a porn star and has mastered talking dirty. She doesn't want to be with another Firefighter, yet ends up with two. She takes to sex like a duck to water and doesn't even bat an eye at double penetration.
The story was a little to cheesy for my taste, not to mention the overuse of the word cockhead.
Sorry folks, not a fan.

I'm so bored. I don't think I've ever said that about one of Ms. Carew's books. I don't care what happens to any of them. Not even all her friends or the other hot firefighters, and there's normally at least one that I wanted to know more about. Oh well, on to the next book

I could not finish this book. I found it cheesy and contrived and the main character puerile.

Firefighters are not really a big part of my imaginary, however the story in this book was interesting enough to keep my attention going and the hot scenes did not disappoint.

All in all these were a few hours spent.

Mixed feelings with this one.

The story starts with the heroine moving town to start a fresh after heartbreakingly loosing her fiancé. She comes across socially awkward super shy and a little Naive but sweet. What I didn't understand nor connect with is how she went from a virgin to a seasoned porn star after the first time she had sex. Now yes it happens in books a lot but the way it's wrote just comes across very unbelievable. Also the whole kissing two other guys while realising her love for simon and carter confused me, it also annoyed me because she didn't really seem apologetic for it either.

Simon and Carter are super hot super cute and very honourable on there first encounter with Rikki. However I just didn't connect with them either I don't know what it was but the characters didn't sit right with me. There constant back a forth feelings, the whole Simon's staying away to protect her I don't know it just felt unrealistic and I didn't dig it.

The story is good the charters are ok and the sex is done pretty great with the exception of some cringy words like "canal" not sexy in my opinion lol!. I enjoyed it ok but just didn't connect with it enough to love it. It's not something I'd regret reading but also not something I'd pick up again in a rush.

I kindly received this ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Rikki don't want to fall for another firefighter after losing her first love who was a firefighter. What is she to do when she not only falls for one but two firefighters.

I loved the build up in this story, how slow and erotic it was and I felt like it was the perfect pace. This is pure erotic entertainment with a nice storyline. It's not like some of those meaningless stories with only erotic scenes.

The characters are well described and the storyline is good. There are no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and a good amount of dialogues and that's a winner in my book.

At times i feel like screaming at the characters "don't do that!" and I think Rikki was a little weak at times because she seemed so indecisive. But all in all this was a good 5 star ⭐️ story if you want something hot and easy to read.

Oh, and it's a standalone which is also great. HEA all the way!

I usually love Opals novels. I struggled with this one. I was over the lead female repeating herself over and over again. She would keeping telling everyone and going on a mental dialogue about having strong feelings that it's meant to be . It was annoying.
For once the romance was too easy and had me rolling my eyes. Simon and carter are more like females. There is nothing alpha about these men.

**Received ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review**
Rikki decided a change was in order after the death of her firefighter fiance to a fire on the job, she needs to find herself and moves away from home and swears off firefighters. Simon and Carter have been friends since firefighter academy, and now are roommates, known to share a woman, but usually just for fun. When Rikki moves to Muldone to pick up the pieces, she starts her own little photography business with the help of her friend Cassie. Her first customers are the local fire department and Rikki will get a little more than she bargained for.
This is a standalone read and a fun, hot, steamy read! I'd rate this as 4 stars! I enjoyed the characters, and the storyline but a virgin wanting to have a threesome for her first time seems to be a stretch, as well as becoming darn near a nympho after her first time. Also kind of weird that she's sexually attracted to all these other guys. Last issue I had is I felt like the ending just stopped and needed a little more or an epilogue or something. Which is why I rated it at 4 stars. But I did enjoy it and I really want Cassie's story, as well as Tony's story and Kyle, Tanner and Dodge. Happy Reading!!

Simon and Carter are firemen. They see a woman in the bar and both are attracted to her. Rikki has just moved to town and has gone out with her roommates. She's a photographer and left her hometown after her boyfriend firefighter was killed. She swears she's never dating another fireman again.
When she's sees them she has an instant connection to them both but they're firemen and she will not go through that pain again. Rikki is taking photos of the firemen for a benefit calendar. And decides a little fling won't hurt and she can lose her virginity too. The more time she spends with them, the harder she starts to fall.
Can she get past her fears and love two men or will she lose them both?
Sex, sex, and firemen. Will leave you panting for more. M/F/M.

RATING 3.5 STARS

Heat is by Opal Carew.

Rikki is a photographer just trying to get started. She has just moved to Muldona, Virginia to be near her college best friend, Cassie. Cassie wants to help her get started so proposes a sexy calendar of the local firefighters to help to raise funds. But Rikki is very cautious of firefighters. Several years before, she had been engaged to a firefighter but he was killed.

The night before she is to start the project, she goes out with her new roommates and feels a strong electrical attraction to not one but two men sitting at the bar. How could this even be possible? Her intuition has never led her astray before but this time, it must be the stress of living in a new city.

Simon Davies and Carter Fenn are best friends, roommates, and both are fire fighters. They have shared women before but neither have ever experienced this deep attraction to another woman. They’ll do whatever needs to be done but they will make her theirs.

Rikki had been saving herself for her now deceased fire fighter so who could have ever guessed that when it’s time to give up her “V” card, it would be to not one but two over the top sexy firefighters. But she had made herself a promise after she lost her fiance. That she could never withstand that sort of pain again. That ALL fire fighters were off limits.

First, I want to say that the last book I read of Opal Carew’s I was over the moon for. But this one didn’t work for me as well. Although I don’t want to demean the pain that Rikki still carries for her ex, to me she came off as a bit whiney.

Let’s also talk about when she and Simon and Carter go the distance. The sexy times in this book were scorching hot. But, wow, once Rikki crossed the bridge, she was insatiable. I mean, this woman was like a sex machine. Lucky for Carter and Simon I guess. And I didn’t like her constant indecision.

All in all, this was a super sexy, quick, fun read. I just had trouble really falling for Rikki. I still do love this author and hope to read plenty more of her books in the future.

I liked this book. Even though the majority of the book was sex, there was also am good storyline. I would love to read more book based on other members of the firefighter crew we meet in the story.

Heat is a great title for this book because it was HOT! I loved it.

Very enjoyable book by Opal Carew. It's very Opal Carew in the way it has a catchy plot with some hot scenes between the characters; in this case a photographer and two hot firemen. Opal delivers!

Ridiculous wish fulfillment at its finest. Virgin meets TWO sexy firemen who live to worship her.

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but Rikki comes off as a sex addict. Every man she looks at, she wants to know what they'd look like naked and what it would be like with them sexually. Carter and Simon give her a lot of slack, and explain a lot of it away.
The sex scenes were pretty amazing though.
