Fierce Obsessions is the sixth installment in the Phoenix Pack series by Suzanne Wright and is the story of Tao, the Head Enforcer of the Phoenix Pack and Riley, a raven shifter and a newcomer to the same pack. We've followed Tao and Riley as they danced around each other in the previous books and now we get to see how their romance unfolds as they stop fighting the undeniable attraction that is between them.

Suzanne Wright is by far my favorite author when it comes to supernatural romance novels. Whenever I'm looking for something fun and sexy to read, I always end up re-reading the Phoenix(and Mercury) Pack series. I've waited for this book since SW posted the fist chapter on her Facebook page and I got the book on my birthday, may 9th (which made it even more special). I finished it in a day and I already miss the enchanting world that SW has created and all its characters.

I really enjoyed the chemistry and the dynamic between Tao and Riley. Their relationship was very mature and you could feel that even though at the beginning it was "just a fling" they respected and understood one another. The book offered equal parts of mystery and sexiness, it had an engaging storyline and as all SW books left me wanting more.

2.5 - 3 stars

I don't know this one was kind of difficult to get in to. I think it's because it feels like all of the other stories. They just feel like the names got changed but the personalities and conversations all feel the same.

I did like and think the mystery and back story was good. I was trying to piece it all together and try to figure out who did it and I have to say I like that it wasn't super obvious I admit I was a little surprised. The romance was alright, and while I don't think they were my favorite couple I did like them together they meshed and complemented each other very well. I loved that it was Riley was a bit harder to read it was a nice change up to have the heroine be the one who wasn't very open or forthcoming with personal information.

I think what distracted me from the fun of this book was all the girl hate. I really don't understand why this is so prevalent in this author's work. I like said in an update:

"I don't get why there has to be such woman on woman hate by this author. Someone has to be either a rival and mean girl, or an overbearing mean mom. And don't forget the mean girl always has to be a "slut". These tropes are so boring and overused, it's distracting me from what has been a pretty good book."

Honestly it's in every book! There always has to be an ex that's obsessed with the heroine and a bunch of mean "slutty" girls who are constantly attacking her. I think my rating would have been higher if this wasn't in there. I really don't get it. I think we can have 1 book where there isn't so much disdain towards women who don't fit the mold of the heroine(s).

But I do have to say that I am looking forward to see what Suzanne has in store for Dominic. Hopefully it will be a fresher concept, dialogue, and story line.

Book 6 in the series and it doesn’t disappoint.

Riley has problems and Teo doesn’t trust her. When the pack steps up to protect her of course he’s going to be the one closest.

This a great book. Loved the interactions with the children.

The story flows well and as usual had me laughing out loud.

Another must read from this author

Tao and Riley… WOW! From its predecessors, I knew these two would be scorching, but it surpassed all my expectations! ‘Enemies’ to lovers, opposites attract is one of my fav tropes and these two took it to a whole new level. Once again Ms. Wright’s masterful world building stole my paranormal romance loving heart! Addictive, that’s what it is!

It's been a while since I last read any of Wright's books. And I accidentally skipped the previous 2 books in this series, which means I was a bit lost at times with recent plot points and characters. But I managed to make do and I think this book can, mostly, work as a standalone anyway.

I have mixed feelings on Fierce Obsessions. On the one hand, it has some fun, snarky moments. On the other hand, there were "special needs" "jokes" used a few times and those should NOT have been in this book.

Wright does know how to write some sexy scenes. And she once again did that with Fierce Obsessions. With the exception of the scene where Tao literally anally fucks Riley, despite her saying "No, I don't want this!" multiple times. Besides the obvious That's Not How Consent Works, Dickwad of this scene, he doesn't even use lube, just shoves his monster cock in with a quick rub down from her vaginal fluids.

That scene, the treatment of consent and how her ass is "his", even when she's not interested in anal, is disgusting. And frankly, I should give this book a much lower rating because of it.

And yet. I mostly had a good time with this book. Which is why, despite those big issues, I'm still giving it a generous 3 stars.

I loved this one! I am behind in reading Wright's books, and I was glad to see that I still had this one on my Kindle. I read it in one sitting because I could not put it down!

Another great book, in a great series by an awesome author. Really like Ms. Wright's book. This one has Tao, a wolf enforcer, and Riley, a raven. What an odd yet perfect pairing. Found it funny when she was nervous to fly in a plane. Great banter, and adventure as they travel to her flock for a weekend party. Naturally there is drama there, and conflicts from the past. Still though, I enjoyed this one and had trouble putting it down. Did not care for the human drug lord sideline, but otherwise highly recommend this book. A perfect summer read.

Review for Untamed Delights

This book was so awesome.❤️❤️. It’s long, but definitely worth it. Mila is the perfect mate for Dominic and his flirty, carefree life with a hint of danger and mystery. She compliments his personality with a fierceness of her own. Dominic has finally met someone worthy of his secrets. Someone who lets him be him, loves all of his broken pieces, but expects him to give so much more but in his timeline. Dominic helps Mila through an emotional blow to not only her, but her cat’s ego. Mila is lost and feels that she has nothing left to offer. Dominic helps her realize that she was meant for him and only him. Sometimes choosing your mate is more powerful than anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and how Suzanne allowed so much time for Dominic and Mila to come together and forge a bond based on mutual love, fierce protectiveness, and a devotion to one another and their packs. Mila is just as funny and sarcastic as the other Alpha females which offsets Dominics antics. The book introduces us to some cool shifters, coyote, Fox, snake, tiger..and we also deal with mental illness, prejudice, unrequited love, and revenge.

Although the Phoenix pack (and soon Mercury) pack are coming to an end, we found some great characters in the Devereaux pride. Alex, Mina’s brother, is going to be handful, Vinnie’s sons, Luke and Tate are delicious. Then there is Evander at the barbershop..I can’t wait to see how the pride functions and the multiple enforcers and lay people that will come out to play. This new ride should be awesome.

First and foremost I adore this entire series. Tao has always intrigued me so I was so happy to learn he was finally getting a book. The banter between he and Raven was so much fun and the sexy times were on point. Definitely one of my favorite books in this series.

Another great addition to the Phoenix Pack series by Suzanne Wright. I really enjoyed Riley and Tao's story. It was amusing and entertaining. A fast past read that keep me turning the pages until the end. I highly recommend to fans of the series.

There literally isn't a book by Ms Wright that isn't perfect for me. As soon as I got a hold of this book, the rest of my life automatically went on hold. I have not been so captivated by a book this much in a while. I could not put it down. The chemistry between the characters as well the plot just hit the spot for it to become one of my new favourites.

Who would have thought that a raven and a wolf would make an adorably, compatible couple!

When we first meet Riley she's a lone raven shifter at the shelter that has grown attached to two shifter children, Dexter and Savannah. When the Phoenix Pack adopts the children Riley comes with them. Both children are very attached to Riley and she in turn is quite protective of them. But with adults it's a different story, she's aloof, defensive and doesn't open up easily. After she joins the Pack she refuses to give them any explanations as to why she's not living with her flock and that makes Tao distrust her. He already doesn't like changes and strangers.

Tao is Kye's bodyguard and an Enforcer in the Pack so it's his job to keep everyone safe. He might have initially been hostile to Riley but he can't fight his attraction to her. And while he's seen the error of his ways and now want's to pursue her, he's in a bit of a pickle as to how to attract her after his assholish behaviour. And it's so happens he wont have to try hard as Riley is already attracted to him. After a night of heavy drinking and partying they end up together. While Riley is under the impression this would be a one-night stand, Tao wants more and has his work cut out for him trying to convince her. When Riley has to visit her flock, he goes with her and of course trouble follows.

I really enjoyed reading about Riley's flock and the differences between them and the pack. Though some things felt a bit familiar, like that one bitch that's in every book that makes everyone's life hell. And I'm not even talking about Gretchen, sorry not sorry, Greta. You know the one I'm talking about right? It's the token slut that everyone hates with good reason. And before you tell me I'm slut shaming a fictional character, we're talking about someone that made it a mission to sleep with all the males in the flock just so she could torture their future mates mates that she had them first and she was a better lay.

What I really liked though was Riley's and Tao's progression as a couple. Both have their defenses but they were valid and not overdone or overdrawn, for me. Their compatibility, especially since they are so fundamentally different, wasn't evident from the get go but you discovered it right along with them. Their relationship developed naturally and had a good pace with lots of sizzling, hot sex as only Suzanne Wright can write.

"It doesn't matter to me if you're the other half of my soul or not. You're in my soul. I don't know how you got there, I really don't but you are."

I loved visiting with the Pack and reading bits about the rest of them, especially Makenna and Ryan. As always the Pack is united against anything that will come their way. The support and love for each other is evident throught the whole book and as usual makes for a great read.

If you haven't picked this series up you are seriously missing out.

I loved it! The give and take banter between Riley and Tao was great. Riley as a raven getting her revenge on Greta was laugh out loud funny. Such a well written story and a joy to read. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review.

This was another good installment of the Phoenix Pack Series. However it was not great, good but not great. It took me a bit longer then the previous books to get into, but by the end, I was happy. I liked Riley, she was a great new addition, her humor was epic and funny. I also enjoyed hearing about a Raven shifter. It was interesting to see how different they are from the Wolves. I though Tao's character was a bit weak. He was alright but I didn't really enjoy him as I had in previous books. But in saying that he has some great moments, my favorite being near the end of the book where Riley in her Raven form in sitting on Tao in Wolf form and walking along. I burst out laughing at that image. So all in all, a good read, the plot was good, though it needed a stronger start. But by the end of the read, I was happy and I recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book about Riley, who is a raven shifter, and Tao, the Phoenix Pack's head enforcer. Though they had insta-attraction it was more of the enemies-to-lovers theme. I liked that after Tao finally quit fighting his attraction to Riley that he became really possessive and protective of her. I like that they both enjoy kids - Tao with his responsibility to the alphas son and Riley with the two orphans whom she loves.

Trick seems to have some type of innate matchmaker sense since he seems to know who are fated mates. I can't wait to read his story since it is well-known that he likes both men and women. Hmmm...is there a menage in the works here?

I think these books could be read as standalone, but it really enhances the story if you read the books in order. This will help give a sense of who are all the previous couples are and their relationship with each other. There is also the other series The Mercury Pack that also weaves into this series.

I felt like this book was a little lack luster. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed it, I just felt as though there was something missing. Maybe I’m still butt hurt that Tao tried to get with Taryn. And that “someone” brought it up. I love Raven’s witty banter and how nurturing she is with the children. Something about Tao makes me want to punch him sometimes. Just me? I look forward to reading more books written by Suzanne Wright.

Great book!!! Suzanne is one of my go to authors. Love that we continue to see our favorite couples while getting new and interesting couples with unique stories of their own

Another great book! I love the idea of a winged shifter of any sort, it's a nice twist on the usual ones. The story picks up right where Savage Urges left off. Centered around the newcomers from the shelter and the trouble that seems to find them.
Riley is stubborn, dominate, but highly protective of the new children she has taken under her wing from the shelter. She doesn't take crap from anyone but she won't focus on the unimportant stuff. She hides part of her past from the pack, not wanting to trust them or become apart of their family but wanting to keep the kids safe.
Tao is our fun loving dominate who makes it clear he wants Riley, period! The two are both dominate and drive each other crazy at time but he isn't willing to let her go. I enjoyed the banter between them and the chemistry they shared.
The book takes you for a ride and at some points, I feared it would end too soon. I loved how Suzanne Wright is able to capture the characters and bring them to life.

Suzanne Wright knows how to write the perfect balance between suspense, romance, steam and humor. And I love that here we're given an unlikely shifter pairing, a raven and a wolf, that absolutely worked. Riley and Tao's evolution as a couple was paced just right and I loved every minute of it.

This book was was the satisfying hit I always crave from this addicting series. Can't wait for more!

When raven shifter Riley Porter was given sanctuary by the Phoenix Pack, she let them believe she had left her flock. Reluctant to divulge the secrets of her past, she was still embraced as family. Only Tao Lukas, the protective and passionate Head Enforcer of the pack, was resistant to the enigmatic shifter. Until Riley started to arouse in him something other than suspicion.

Tao doesn’t trust lone shifters, especially ones so guarded—and tempting. But the sexual tension between them is making them both come undone, and vulnerable to more than desire. All Tao wants is for Riley to stay with him and to trust him with the truth of her past.

As Riley’s mysteries come to light, so does a danger that threatens not only her life but the safety of the entire pack. For Tao, keeping Riley safe means keeping her close—forever—as his mate.

* * * * *

Riley has always been one of my favorite characters in this series so I was rather happy to see that she was finally getting her book and her love. While she opens her heart freely to the children, she is rather prickly with any adult that tries to get close to her. Riley figures that if she doesn't let anyone close than they won't be able to hurt or desert her like she feels her parents did. She didn't count on Tao's ability to sneak his way in.

Tao is blunt and totally undiplomatic. And he doesn't like anyone who might bring danger to his pack. However after watching Riley for a while, he has decided that she doesn't fit into that category but knows that if he lets Riley know that he has changed his mind, she will fly to the hills.

What a great book! One thing that I really like about this series is how it will highlight one or two of the pack while still giving the readers a chance to check up on the rest. FIERCE OBSESSIONS stands very nicely on its own but I do recommend starting this series from the very beginning so that you are able to get the inside story on the rest.

I do recommend this book to any of my readers who enjoy paranormal romance. I do want to give a warning however that it does contain a lot of sex and violence so might not be appropriate for all readers.
