Suzanne Wright is a must read for me. This story is about Tao Lukas, Head Enforcer of the Phoenix Pact and a longtime friend of the Alpha, Trey. I was waiting for his story until I forget it. The Pack is growing so fast with so many additional characters. Anyway, as much as I want to love this, but it's really hard for me. The main story feels repetitive also the romance and sex.

Riley Porter worked for shiter shelter from the previous book. She followed her friend, Makenna and join the Phoenix Pact recently. Riley brought two kids with her, Savannah (viper) and Dexter (cheetah). She didn't feel welcome especially by a certain person, Tao. But they couldn't deny the sexual tension after their one night stand. It's only for sex, they said.

As a lone raven shifter, Riley is very private and guarded person. I also found Savannah and Dexter are really enjoyable kids. They're not the whinny/bratty type. Riley lost her parents at very young age and she was taken care by both her uncles. After she talked a bit about her past, I could understand Riley.

Tao is one of the most complicated person in the outside. But once you know him, he's full of marshmallow. The hate-love relationship between Tao and Riley are really undeniable. Tao was full on caveman mode on Riley. He wants to redeem himself to be with Riley and being with her like almost everywhere. I know it's a bit suffocated but Riley seems okay.

I loved the banter between Riley and Tao, but the chemistry itself not enough to make them in love/imprinting. They're just simply like a lovey dovey couple all the time. Tao turns into cheese on the top of cheese. And Riley who wants to appear bad-ass didn't feel like it. The sex was still great and hot as usual but nothing's new.

The main conflict came from Riley's past also human threat to the Phoenix Pact. I really enjoyed the suspense. The story was nicely written but somehow it feels a bit slow than the usual. Sadly, I couldn't connect with both MCs. Overall, it was a good read but didn't WOW me anymore. Still enjoyable, though.

This is Riley and Tao's story. I love reading this series. While I was reading up on this book (after reading it) I discovered that the first book in the series Feral Sins was rewritten and re-released. I HATE when author redo a book, taking out complete scenes or just rewriting an already released book in some way. Now because of the change it is in conflict with this story. Now don't get me wrong the story is still great, I just hate when things don't line up.

Due to life getting in the way, I was unable to read this book as quickly as I wanted. Once I started I didn’t want to stop. It was a fast paced smooth moving story with characters that kept me engaged and a plot that I needed to follow every step of the way.

Riley is a raven shifter that is living with a wolf pack. No one knows why she left her previous pack but they are accepting of her nevertheless. Tao is a wolf that doesn’t like anyone from outside of his pack. He’s highly suspicious of strangers and that includes Riley.
I haven’t read the previous books in this series so I’m unsure what led up to a drunken hook up between these two. However, once they’re together, they ignite the pages of this book with a fierce passion and connection.

Tao is an abrasive, tactless, and direct hero that isn’t concerned with keeping his thoughts from those around him. Riley is a tough, independent heroine that is comfortable letting her inner strength show in all that she does. Normally, it would seem this couple could not work together. However, as they move forward to solve a mystery related to Riley’s past, as well as other danger that is aimed at the wolf pack, it becomes obvious that this pair is perfect for each other. I especially loved the fact that Tao’s character didn’t change once he began to give into his feelings for Riley. He was still harsh and confrontational and she was completely capable of dealing with him and turning the tables on him at times.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys shifter stories as well as a couple that know how to deal with their issues in a straight up manner without all the push and pull.

Fierce Obsessions, The Phoenix pack book 6 by Suzanne Wright is for me a 5 star read.
Riley Porter is a lone raven shifter who went to the Phoenix pack six months previously to ask for sanctuary for her and 2 young shifters, the pack welcome her in even though she's keeping her past hidden from them. Riley is a dominant shifter and she won't take any nonsense from anyone but somehow Tao has managed to get under her skin.
Tao Lukas is the head enforcer for the Phoenix pack and when he saw Riley he wanted her badly but argued with his alpha's and the rest of his pack to get her to leave, but when danger comes after Riley, Tao must do everything in his power to keep her safe.
I am a huge fan of Suzanne Wrights books, especially the stories from the Phoenix pack and this book is probably my favourite so far, I love the chemistry that Riley and Tao have even though they fight it all the way.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley.

I'm a huge Suzanne Wright fan, but for whatever reason, I was just not able to get into Fierce Obsessions. I honestly can't say if it was due to the characters or the story, but I do know that I couldn't connect. It's most likely a case of "it's me not you" since I've loved each prior book in this series. I do know that I will come back to it and try again shortly when life/stress/book funks allow me to delve into it.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! LOVED IT!

This is a continuation of the series 'The Phoenix Pack' based on the couple Riley and Tao. To remind you Tao is the Beta of the Pack (a wolf shifter) and Riley is the newest member to the group (a Raven shifter).

Tao has been in the group from the beginning, we first read of him in the first book of the series and Riley we first read about in Savage Urges. All of the books before this one is a must read, especially if you want to learn the dynamics and history of the pack. Also I recommend reading the Mercury Series if you love Phoenix Pack!

This book is just another perfect continuation of this series, Riley is so funny (borrowing items) and her comebacks to Greta are hilarious. Tao is still very serious but we see another side of him that we hadn't before. Also Savannah (viper shifter) and Dex (cheetah shifter) are absolutely adorable, I love Savannah protectiveness and Dex's habit of taking food into his pockets but offering it to those who he trusts. I hope we get to read a series on the children. (Fingers crossed)
Also I can't wait to read the book on Dominic, it will be so funny so see how a girl reacts to flirtations.

Can't wait to read Suzanne's next book coming out very soon called Ashes which is another series of her's about demons! I recommend if you love her books!

Thank you for this ARC!

I absolutely love this series. Since meeting Tao in the very first book of the series, I wondered what kind of girl the surly, loyal-to-a-fault enforcer would end up with. Riley was perfect for him. Quick witted, funny, and with an interesting (if not tragic) back story was a great match for him. I am loving how Suzanne Wright has been introducing "other" shifters into the series, and I have to say reading about Raven shifters and how they move/act/heal and their culture within the flock was very interesting. Their chemistry together was explosive, and seeing the Phoenix Pack continue to thrive was great. I love revisiting all of those previous couples. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Riley woke up with a horrible hangover from Tequila. Then she remember the Phoenix had thrown a birthday party for their head enforcer Tao. Riley had come to the pack six months ago for sanctuary with two orphaned shifter - a cheetah cub who was two named Dexter and a viper who was four named Savannah. Riley was a lone raven shifter who refused to give the Phoenix pack a reason she wasn’t with a flock. Even then and despite the fact she hadn’t accepted or decline their offer to join the pack. And still treated Riley like she was pack. Or most of them did. Riley rarely slept the whole night through. Then Riley realized she was sleeping next to Tao Lukas the head enforcer. Worse off the had sex and a lot of it through the night and Tao didn’t even like Riley even though he may want her and acted possessive of her. Worse off Riley’s raven wanted Tao with a primitive intensity since Riley had met Tao. Tao was fearless, brutally blunt, action oriented and forceful. Tao had no time for patience or diplomacy. Riley admired Tao’s refusal to tailor his judgments to placate others. Riley had super bad judgement when it came to men. Riley told Tao they needed to forget the night before had ever happened and went into the bathroom Tao charged into the bathroom and told Riley she didn’t want to forget last night that she wanted to do it over and over and so did he. Tao also said he would not let Riley forget the night before. At first Tao didn’t like Riley but over time Riley had charmed both Tao and his wolf. And earned her respect with her wit, fearlessness, and the protectiveness she displayed for the young. Riley kept most people at an emotional distance. Tao knew Riley argued with him, snorted at him, challenged him, and poked him. Tao asked Riley to let him in just a little and lat what they had play out and she surprised Tao by saying okay. Riley’s uncles were having a surprise anniversary party shot for them by Riley’s flock Riley’s good friend Lucy- was also the alpha’s daughter- showed up to ask Riley to please attend as they uncles would be so happy then and Riley finally agreed but so did Tao. Lucy’s uncle’s- Ethan and Max- had mated before she was born but when her parents died when Riley was four and her uncles stepped right in to raise her. Riley had left her flock four years ago and hadn’t been back.
I loved this story and everything about it. A slightly different slant- a wolf shifter and a raven shifter being true mates also how Riley brought to the pack A cheetah cub and a young viper and all in one wolf pack and loved it. I missed sleep reading this story I just didn’t want to put this down. Two settings and I was done. Never lost my interest for a second. I enjoyed this and everything about it. I loved how Tao’s and Riley’s relation grew as time went on. I loved how the pack excepted Riley and Dexter and Savannah. There was nothing to complain about I have a new favorite shifter book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and action in this story and I highly recommend.

Favorite Quote: “I’m not saying you don’t have the God-given right to be neurotic, but must you exploit that privilege?”

Riley Porter, a raven shifter, has found a home for herself and more importantly for her kids with the Phoenix Wolf Pack. Though she knows not everyone is thrilled with her being there, she never expected to wake up in bed after an impromptu party and copious amounts of tequila with her most vocal dissenter…the very sexy Tao Lukas.

Tao doesn’t like change and nor many people. As the head enforcer for the Phoenix Pack, his job is to sniff out danger before it happens and his nose is saying Riley isn’t being completely honest about why she left her pack. But the sexual tension that has been building between them has become impossible to ignore and after Tao gets a taste of Riley, he admits his feelings for her are deeper than just a one time fling.

Riley agrees to give their attraction a chance and see where it leads, even inviting Tao to come with her to her uncles’ anniversary party. When Riley’s uncle is shot, her secrets begin to come to light, putting her and the pack in danger. As Tao works to discover who wants to harm Riley and the pack, he realizes that he will do whatever it takes to keep his family and his mate safe.

Though this is the 6th book in a well-established series, the storyline is inclusive enough to stand on its own. Enemies to lovers relationships are always fun to watch unfold and this couple certain provides plenty of entertainment-vocally and sexually. I’m glad Wright decided to go with Riley’s story next. I’ve been waiting to know more about her since first meeting her during Savage Urges. Riley is a raven shifter who left her flock for reasons and ends up in the Phoenix Pack by way of Makenna Wray. Strong, intelligent, loyal, and delightfully snarky, Riley fits in perfectly with this pack with her playful ways and deadly skills. Her two kids-Dexter and Savannah-are quite funny with their little quirks and habits.

Though I wasn’t too keen on Tao at first, he’s been rather quiet in the background, I soon realized he was a perfect match for Riley. A grumpy dominant through and through, he has a way of cutting through the artifice and telling you exactly how it feels. A bit rude and crude at times, he does what he wants when he wants with one hundred percent focus and precision. Riley infuriates him, annoys him, confounds him, and tempts him like no other. He gives her plenty of room to grow but refuses to allow her to shut him out like she does the others.

I love that Wright’s PNRs are so modern, sexy, and fun. There aren’t any of the strict and obviously misogynistic rules in here regarding females, different species fraternization, or mating that you find in some of the other shifter stories. The males and females are equals in every way and while the males may devolve into some alpha melodramatic moments when they find the one they want to be with, there are lines they know they can’t cross and still live to talk about it. The females in here aren’t pushovers and don’t put up with anyone’s crap.

“Hit me,” Tao repeated, sensing just how on edge she was. “You’re gonna snap if you don’t get it all out of you. Don’t worry; I can take a punch from an itty-bitty thing like-motherfucker!”

Two intriguing storylines intertwine with the romance, using Riley’s past and an external source to expand the character base and strengthen what is already in play arc wise. I was a little shocked at how easily Riley and Tao fall into a relationship after we are told of Tao’s antagonism towards Riley. Riley has some misgivings when they wake up in bed together but Tao basically just tells her to deal and she does. The fiery chemistry between them does help to create a more believable venture. Their attraction for one another is seen and felt in every scene they appear in; encouraged by some seriously steamy and bold love scenes. I love a couple who has fun in and out of bed and this couple definitely does. I’m hiding my quote under the NSFW tag because it’s really explicit. :)

NSFW »

I did have some issues. The two plotlines were weak and not as developed as some seen in previous installments. There were just too many questions left unanswered and it was hard to get involved with either one as most of the investigations were done off screen. I wish we had been given a bit more information and about the Raven shifters. Wright stayed rather vague about them as a whole. There were also some sexual aspects that were not sexy. Scooping out cream is not a sexy phrase or act. If you can scoop anything out of your vagina, you need medical treatment. Also, anal sex without lube is not sexy. Telling someone they’ll enjoy it and not to worry, is not sexy or consent. I need to hear/read the words. Lastly, I’m tired of Greta. Her time spent as the series antagonist has gone from mildly amusing to irritating. I’m not a fan of letting elders verbally abuse the people around them.

The ending comes at us hard and fast as the pack is attacked on multiple fronts and Tao and Riley have to fight to the death to protect the pack and each other. All in all, Wright continues to entertain with this series and despite my issues, I’ll still recommend these as enjoyable fast reads with sexy and snarky heroes and heroines who kick ass and always willing to cross the line for those they love.

This book had everything I love – a spunky female lead, smutty goodness, and an engaging mystery.

Riley is the quirky raven shifter who brought two lovable misfit children to the Phoenix Pack. She and Tao have been dancing around each other since she got there. What might have looked like animosity has quickly grown into a burning desire. These two are *fabulous* together, especially because nothing is ever predictable.

Tao has done his best to sneak up on the raven shifter, but eventually a drunken night and a phone call from Riley’s past puts him in a position to push his luck. Who knew that a trip to Riley’s old home would involve an attempt on their life and the lives of those around them? I guess it should have been expected from this unpredictable duo.

Caught between trying to find a killer and coming to grips with her past, Riley also manages to let Tao in. I can’t say enough good things about this pair! They are now officially my favorite in the series. I wish there was more story from them – I could read a whole other book just for the witty banter.

I'm a fan of Suzanne Wright and I'm a fan of this series. So okay there wasn't anything new or ground breaking about this book in the series. We have an alpha male (although Tao isn't quite as Alpha as some of the other leads) and a snarky female with great one liners. Tao and Riley are very different but they worked well together and I really enjoyed the time they spent with the raven pack. I thought the villain was fairly obvious and the motive a little weak but I read these books for the funny moments, the pack relationships and some hot sex scenes which is all provided in this book. The formula for this series just works for me and I enjoy it! I know what I'm going to get when I pick up a Phoenix Pack book and this didn't let me down. I'm really looking forward to Trick's book :0

I've been waiting forever to read Tao and Riley's book and it did not disappoint.
I'm a huge Suzanne Wright fan and Phoenix Pack series got me hooked from the very beginning.
The writing is beautiful and easy...the story is a amazing.
Riley has been staying with the Phoenix Pack since the last book and Tao was not very accepting of her being there at the beginning. While the journey is not easy , both Riley and Tao prove that if you really want something , you will get it even if you have to fight for it to the death.
The book is full with love, romance and suspense, steam and also a little bit of mystery.

Can't wait for the next book!

Tao and Riley's Story: 4.5 Stars!

Suzanne Wright sure has a way with making opposites attract work in the best of ways. Tao and Riley both have very strong personalities. You wouldn't think they could work as a couple but they were the perfect compliment to each other.

I'm a big fan of this author because she brings me the dominant males I like to read about in my books but she's also very good at writing strong female role models. One's who not only handle the alpha male with finesse, but gives as good as they get. No doormat heroines with this author.

In previous books, you would not have thought to put this couple together. They seemed to not like each other, yet the transition from hate to lust to love was done smoothly and effortlessly.

I love when a couple can argue sensibly and not react in stupid ways. The way these two worked together made the story a fun read and so many great side characters to add to the overall enjoyment of the story. I can't wait for more! ARC provided by NetGalley.

3.5 Stars

Riley Porter has been welcomed into the Phoenix pack after seeking sanctuary for her and her two young charges there. While things started out a little rocky with the packs Head Enforcer, Tao Lukas, they have finally started to get along together... in bed...

When Riley decides to return to her former flock for a visit and the past she left behind starts to turn into a new danger. But she, Tao and the rest of her honorary pack are ready to take on the unknown threat...

I loved Riley's personality, she is hilarious and doesn't let Tao get away with much. Tao is very honest about not wanting to mate, but when he and Riley finally connect, he isn't stubborn about the bond they start to share.

This was a good read. As book number six in the Phoenix Pack series, Tao and Riley's story was focused on a new threat from the previous books and we were introduced to some new characters. I loved seeing our old favorites from the previous books and all of the returning characters with their crazy personality quirks.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

4.5 stars- herein lies a great escape

It's been years since I first began the Mercury Pack series and still it remains my favorite shifter series. Yes, there's a formula to each book, but it has yet to bore me. With each book, Miss Wright manages to switch up enough details that it's just comfortable enough, while still being entertaining and delivering some excitement.

I've liked Tao's character for a while so I was excited when the author announced he was up next. What I didn't expect (until the fourth book, that is), is that he'd be paired with a raven shifter. I liked that aspect quite a lot, getting details into a different shifter animal, their habits, and the way the flock works was interesting. Riley's character was a great match for Tao. I never have to fear a weak, doormat of a heroine with this author, but Riley was extra snipey, which proved to be perfect for Tao. Their back and forth made for great dialogue, funny moments, and some great angry sex. And yes, once again, we've got some fantastically hot scenes that never crosses into that gratuitous sex area. I thought the push and pull between them was just enough, and I thoroughly enjoyed this couple.

More than the couple, I thought the conflicts driving the plot throughout Fierce Obsessions were very strong. Going into any shifter book, things will always have a suspend-your-disbelief quality to them, but I find Miss Wright routinely walks that divide and it's never so ridiculous that I'm rolling my eyes. This book in particular had a few unknowns that kept me guessing as things progressed, and I was a little surprised when the final climax occurred. The action scenes were written well and the pace reflected the intensity, keeping me completely engaged in the battles.

It's rare for a series to keep delivering something that catches and keeps my interest six books in, but the Phoenix Pack series does just that. I love that this series has reliable elements: sarcastic humor, fun group interactions, strong characters, revisits with former couples and fave characters, steamy scenes, action, and intriguing conflicts. I also love that there is enough switched up book to book to keep me coming back for more. I always read these books fast because they make for a great escape, and Fierce Obsessions was no exception. Even better, if you've never picked up a book by this author, you can choose any title and know it can easily read as a standalone and won't leave a reader confused over references to the past. If you're a fan of shifter books or looking to try one out, this is always my go to recommendation.

this seriesSuzanne's writing NEVER fails to pull me in immediately and not let go even after the book is finished.  Her characters are genuine, honest to goodness characters that you can't help but fall in love with.  I couldn't tell you between the Phoenix and Mercury Pack series which book would be my favorite because they are all amazing.

Tao has always been a wild card for me.  We met him in the very being when Taryn first came to the pack and when things went down between him, Trey, and Taryn he kind of disappeared into the shadows.  He intrigued me then and that hasn't wained throughout all the books it took to get us from then to now.  He is a complex and demanding character.  Though he is very taciturn it's beautiful to see how he lights up when he's with Riley and how in turn that lights her up too.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Riley because she was a Raven shifter.  All the shifters before have been cats and wolves, larger predators, with aggressive tendencies and what I assumed would make for a more pronounced character.  Boy was I wrong!  Riley was this amazing mix of playful and cunning.  Aloof but, always in the know.  She never let anything past her and was fiercely of those she considered hers.  She was an absolute joy to read about.

I love this book, I love series, I love all her wolf series, and I absolutely love this author.  I've read all of her books and she has never once let me down.  I'm on the edge of my seat as I wait to see what and who she'll give us next.

Another good installment in the series! I was happy to see Tao get his HEA. Good story with plenty of action and romance.

Great continuation to the series. Tao doesn't want a mate, but realizes he can't deny Riley. She isn't too ken on the idea either. They have to face danger when they go back to Riley's flock as well as danger from another group.

I don’t know when this happened but Suzanne Wright has definitely become one of my favourite authors. Ms Wright definitely falls on my auto-buy list and she should be on yours too!
Fierce Obsessions is the sixth book in The Phoenix Pack series and not only do I adore this series but I really adored Fierce Obsessions. It was exactly what I wanted and what I thought it would be. Filling in Riley’s blanks and giving us their HEA and lots of hot sex and more time with Savannah and Dexter.

Tao and Riley up until this point haven’t really gotten along. Tao didn’t trust Riley and therefore didn’t want her in the pack. The way Fierce Obsessions opens really shocked me but made me giggle too. It wasn’t how I expected the story to open at all but it worked.

The overall storyline worked really well for me because there was more than one thing going on and while some authors may have struggled to keep the pace of more than one plotline going, it’s something Ms Wright really exceeds at. If you’ve read previous books in the series then you know what I mean.

I enjoyed guessing who the villain was and how it would work and I it didn’t quite go as I expected which made me enjoy it more because you don’t really want an awesome story that falls flat because you can guess who the villain is straight away and what they are going to do and there is more than one villain in Fierce Obsessions which helped keep me off balance in guessing what would happen which I enjoyed immensely.

I’ve relly liked Tao, from the first book and I liked him even more in Fierce Obsessions. He was still very alpha and dominant but he wasn’t as much as an asshole to Riley has he had been and it was nice to be let in on his feelings and see how he learnt more about her and how to ‘woo’ her in his way. Riley is a classic Ms Wright Character, although she’s less snarky than some of Ms Wright’s other characters, Riley still fit in well with the other female pack members. I always really enjoy the female characters Ms Wright writes and Riley was no exception. She’s tough, spunky, sly, cunning and a fighter. It was also really fun to see another pack that wasn’t wolves as Riley is a raven and while I didn’t particularly like her old pack it was still interesting to see how they differed from the wolves.

Overall, while this book is the sixth in the series and because not only do I enjoy this series but enjoy the author and therefore have to say read the series you don’t technically need to read the series to read this book. But I bet if you read this book, there is no way you wouldn’t then go back and read the other books in the series and the spin-off series too!

To be honest, I highly recommend anything written by Suzanne Wright, her writing and storytelling has only gotten better as the years go on and I find them extremely enjoyable and think you will too.

Book 6 in the Phoenix Pack series

First off I'll be completely honest when I say Suzanne Wright is one of my all time favorite authors! She has yet to write a book that I haven't loved! I have been impatiently waiting for Tao and Riley's story! She didn't disappoint! Like always we see our favorite characters from the past books. I love seeing how the pack has accepted Riley, she might be a raven shifter but she's definitely part of the wolf pack. I've been curious about Tao and Riley since they were introduced. Both seemed that they carried a lot of baggage, I was worried how this mating would go. I shouldn't have been. You learn a lot about both, you also learn why both are stubborn and a bit asshole-ish. They were probably more made for each other than any of the other couples. Tao and Riley's love was hilarious and sweet. They work well together. As always it seems someone is after the pack again. Not just after Riley, but Taryn as well. Our wolves, and raven, kick ass like always 😉. This was an awesome installment to the Phoenix Pack series and I can't wait for more.

Favorite quote: Riley - "It does help your case that you've got as much dick in your jeans as you have in your personality."
