I am sorry that I couldn't complete the book on time and it got expired. I am giving 1 star because of the book description. I liked the synopsis and that is why I asked for the book.

This sweet story will tug at your heartstrings for sure. It oozes love from page to page as questions are answered by a parent to a child about missing her so when she is gone away. This book would be ideal to read to a child when a family is going through a divorce, someone they love is travelling afar, grieving after a death, experiencing a long-term illness, perhaps a deployment to another country, or any type of trauma really, that keeps members separated for a long length of time.

The worried child is informed of different ways that he can connect even though his loved one is physically not there beside him. His separation anxiety and sadness is soothed by such sweet words as:

"Ahh, but then we can send each other kisses by dawn. When you open your eyes and see the sun rise, just do this... blow me a kiss!"
The sun will catch your kiss and use light speed to forward it right on to me. I'll send a million kisses back your way. You'll feel my love in each warm ray.

"And you know what else is true? Every ladybug and butterfly, each dandelion and daisy that catches your eye or flutters by is saying that I'm crazy about you."

"Throw your arms around a tree... I'll hug you and you'll hug me. "

The author infuses loads of love into nature and helps the child see the many opportunities where love can be shown and exchanged: by the grains of sand on the beach cuddling you, by the stars twinkling in the sky and blowing kisses to each other that slide down rainbows into each other hearts thus bonding us together.

The book has a powerful message of always being there for one another no matter where they might be. The illustrations are vibrant, bold and beautiful, driving that powerful message home. Home of course is where your heart is. I like the fact that children of many cultures are included in the story. The book offers comfort, hope, emotional security and peace to a little one who is struggling with the absence of their beloved adult who is missing in their life.

"No matter how far apart we are, I will always find ways to tell you I love you..."

"Hugs by moon, kisses by sun,

I'll always love you, little one."

An excellent children's picture book, with colorful, lively images, lovely verse, and a great sentiment beneath the story. Love is all around, from the sun to the moon to the wind, in nature, unstoppable. The words are earnest yet fun, with lovely rhymes that sound good read aloud. The illustrations are terrific, bringing to life the underlying feeling of the book. A beautiful bedtime story for your littlies.

When you can not be near one another how do you show love. With kisses sent from the sun and blown on the wind, to hugs from trees and moon. Overall an enjoyable book. The illustrations were lovely, but I suggest changing the cover. The interior illustrations are much better than the cover.

Short but sweet picture book showing how to deal with separation anxiety. Moonbeams, sunrays, rainbows are all used to carry love.
This may be the best children’s book I’ve ever read. Beautifully drawn, beautiful colors, great writing, especially the rhyming.

This book is as beautiful as sun kisses and moon hugs themselves! You can always feel the love of loved ones, everywhere around you, in everything that surrounds you - this book effortlessly and oh-so-sweetly conveys that message with lyrics that flow soothingly and with illustrations bright and beautiful that seem to pop out of the pages!
You traverse the seasons of the year, and travel across the world as you read the book - and using the sweet lyrics; and the vibrant illustrations, the story tells you that love is forever! This will be perfect to read for kids who are moving away from loved ones, for parents who travel to read to their kids, for grandparents to read to grandkids when they live away from each other (or for helping kids deal with separation anxiety or from loss of a loved one). Hugs and kisses via the moon and the sun, love sent in delightful parcels that nature provides all around you -- perfect!!!
First published in 2012, this book will be available 20 May 2017 in paperback as well.
Reread factor: 5/5
Reading level: this is a book I think that will be for all ages (though it provides a wonderful way to help younger kids deal with separation or loss, it is also a delightful way to tell anyone at any age that they are loved).
Rating: A+

The first time I tried reading this ARC the text was so mixed up that much of the story was unreadable. The author sent me a PDF version, the fully illustrated version with the text in a lovely variety of formats. Now that was a truly beautiful experience! Thank you for sending me the full experience! I hope to have a copy of this book in my library and refer it to lots of parents and grandparents to share with their children. Very nicely done! 5 stars!

What a sweet book. This is a great book for any time and any place. Great for parents who travel or families of divorce as well. The book lets a child know that matter where you are or what you are doing when you need to feel love it is possible, When the sun is shining it is sending kisses, when the moon is glowing it is sending hugs and so many more ways a simple everything day thing is a sign of your love. Great book for bedtime as well.

I have so much love for this book! The story is beautiful. The illustrations are bright and appealing and the reading rhythm is smooth. The depicted children are diverse, and I think most every young listener and reader will find a character who looks a bit like themself.

What a lovely children's book. This story is about the bond of love even when the people are not together. Love will be sent by the sun and the moon. This story is told in a lyrical way that makes it soothing and comforting. A great bedtime story. It is also a good story to read when there is a separation from a parent for any reason (work, vacation, deployment, divorce, even death). This would make a wonderful read over skype or facetime by a grandparent who does not live in the same area as their grandchildren. The illustrations are big, vibrant and breathtaking, and include children from all cultures. A delightful addition to any family library.

I love this book! The illustrations are delightful, and the concept behind it is wonderful, especially if a parent has to travel or be away for any period of time. As a child my dad showed me the north star and told me that when he was away I only had to look up at it and know he was looking at it too, missing me and mom. But I like this idea of love being sent through all forms of nature!
