Even though I am not a huge paranormal reader, this series is an automatic grab for me. In this story, Verity received a ghostly phone call warning her of a murder. Apparently she is getting a reputation assuming the local ghosts who now realize she can see and interact with them. With the help of ghostly gangster Frankie's powers, she sets out to find out what's going on. As is usually the case with Verity, she gets more than she bargained for and has to call in help in the form of her boyfriend, Ellis. Meanwhile, Frankie has gotten in over his head with a ghostly killer and needs Verity to help him hide out. Something within his hideout is giving Frankie extraordinary strength, but Verity has a murder to solve and has no time to discover what's going on with Frankie. She and Ellis have suspicions but no evidence, and Ellis's mom keeps trying to interfere in their investigation and their love life.

I definitely recommend reading this series in order rather than trying this as a standalone. It's a great series if you like a little quirkiness, mischievous ghosts, and meddlesome almost mother in laws.

I received an ARC from Net Galley for honest review.

What a fun and crazy book! It is my first book in this series, but won't be the last. It is a light-hearted fun cozy mystery that entertains to the end. It is well written and the characters are just great! Of course, Verity, the main character, gets herself into lots of trouble, but you will smile the entire time. Great read!

Frankie - The gangster ghost trapped on the estate of Verity a spirit whispered - Has a run of good luck in this installment by Angie Fox! This is a whimsical paranormal spook taking place in Sugarland. Verity is lucky enough to be dating Ellis Wydell a handsome deputy sheriff who is always willing to lend her a hand. A murderer, missing historical documents, and keeping her 1978 Cadillac running are just a few of the tasks Verity faces. This is the fifth book in the Southern Ghost Hunter Series. To enjoy these characters best all books should be read in order. "A copy of this book was provided to me by Season Publishing and author via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion."

I adore this series. I can't put my finger on exactly what draws me back to the Southern Ghost Hunter mystery series more than many others series, but I anxiously await each new release. The best part of the series is the character interaction between Verity and just about anyone. Ellis is awesome, Frankie is hilarious, Lily is a darling and Ellis's mother, Victoria Wydell is a vengeful snob's snob, but Verity is starting to learn how to handle her. There is enough wit and humor to balance the tense moments and those that go beyond tense to down right scary. I am not a person who enjoys being afraid but the balance makes it work, and I can hold on the to fact that this series is pretty much cozy paranormal. so while people may be murdered, no one is going to get me, I mean Verity.

I enjoy watching Verity slowly rebuild her life after some pretty drastic changes. She is a strong person and one of solid standards; she just has the ability to communicate with a ghost who can help her see the "other plane". Sometimes, I think she over reacts to Frankie, the gangster ghost, but I suspect that living with him would not be easy.

While the problem that she is hired to fix is serious to the members of the local historical society, I am with Verity in finding the positioning of mannequins dressed as local historical heroes hilarious. A phone call from the dead, an cemetery rendezvous, and a secret that will stir the community more than the death of a member of the society lead Verity, Frankie, and Ellis into a world of evil, misunderstanding, and the forgotten.

I requested and received an advanced readers' copy of Sweet Tea and Spirits. The review represents my honest opinion. I always review books that I love.

Verity Long is back in another fun adventure. Verity with her ghost partner Frankie “the German” and her hunky cop boyfriend Ellis will have to pull out all the stops to find out who killed socialite Julia Harper Youngblood and solve a mystery at the Sugarland Heritage Society domain of Ellis’s mother and Verity’s nemesis. I loved watching Frankie fall in love and Verity and Ellis’ relationship growing closer. This is a clean, fun read that I highly recommend.

Sweet Tea and Spirits featuring one of my favorite characters, the charming Verity Long was absolutely terrific.

Anyone who is familiar with the series knows the struggles Verity has gone through, if anyone deserves to find some happiness it's Verity.
Trying to be taken seriously in her paranormal activities is tough in the deep south. After mistakenly trapping Frankie the German to her property, Verity has the ability to talk to ghosts.
When the head of the Sugarland Historical Society reaches out to Verity, she can only hope to get this over with as soon as she can.
Unfortunately, the ghosts aren't what they seem and before long, Verity finds herself in the middle of another murder.

This series is just pure fun. Verity is colorful, unique and quirky. She is down to earth, I mean, who else but Verity would have a skunk for a pet. Reading this series by Angie Fox is pure delight and I can't wait to read more.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by Season Publishing and NetGalley.
Sweet Teas And Spirits releases on April 25th.

Always a winner and an automatic purchase for me. Crazy adventures and romance along with go ole southern manners mixed in. Verity seems to always solve her case no matter what it is. This time she actually might get paid for it. I loved this light hearted book.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fun book that I just loved! Our favorite ghost hunter, Verity, gets a crackling phone call telling her there had been a murder at the historical society's headquarters - better known as the home for widows and orphans. The only problem is, that once her boyfriend, and local police officer, Ellis, investigates, there's no dead body and no signs of murder.

Verity uses her ghostly gifts, and ghostly pal Frankie's power to investigate. Unfortunately, other than Ellis, the local police aren't interested in her assistance. However, Julia, the society president, sees her there and hires her to look into things for her. Before long Verity stumbles across another dead body, which leads her investigation into a different direction.

This is an entertaining series with lots of humor woven throughout an interesting mystery. Add in a heavy dose of ghostly paranormal and a bit of romance and you've got a perfect beach read. Fans of the genre will love this book and will want to put this one at the top of their TBR.
