A delightfully sweet romance, tastefully seasoned with just the right amount of spice.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book.

Chasing Red is originally a Wattpad book that got published. Wattpad stories that get published are always a hit or miss with me and this one was a miss. This book was doing way too much. Like every New Adult cliché you could think of was in this book: rich, popular boy that makes all the panties drop; a damsel in distress heroine who is saved by said rich boy and then tries to resist his charm, but ya know, she can't help but fall for him; drama, lots and lots of drama. So I'm calling it quits before I end up throwing my eReader across the room.

I've always heard Isabelle Ronin's name, and read many praises for her books. She had a lot of success even here in Italy, so how could I not read at least one of her books?
I have to thank the publisher for this opportunity they gave me, and I apologize if I'm writing just now the review.
Passing on to the book, I have to admit it was a very enjoyable book, a very nice al lovely story with, as I thing almost every book, slower parts and more exciting parts.
And the part that I loved the most was... can you guess? Caleb off course, there was no dubts, his carisma was all over the book and the scenes where he was in where the most beautiful, so basically the whole book.
I absolutely recommend it to everyone, wether you already read something of this author or not.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I liked this book. Veronica and Caleb were a bit annoying at times, but I had to know where their story was going. I actually went right to WattPad after finishing this book so that I could see what happened next in their story.

This is a solid romance, but nothing particularly special in terms of the genre. The angst is definitely what kept me interested and what kept me going.

I'm really having trouble with the dialogue in this story. The characters are already pretty typical so I was hoping I would find something different here. A little disappointed. DNF.

Well, I finally got around to reading this and to be honest, I was less than impressed. The characters were “meh” and the dialogue was eye-roll worthy at times. Definitely not a book I’d recommend to fellow bookworms 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’d give it a 2.5 at most.

This was a fun new adult romance, with complex characters. The story was a little dramatic, and the ending is left with a cliffhanger.

The couple is a cute match, but their problems are just a case of miscommunication. I liked both Red (Veronica) and Caleb but again, their problems only happened because they weren’t telling each other their feelings or issues.

I also had a bit of a problem with the writing, because some of the scene transitions felt choppy and didn’t flow well together. I felt like this was definitely written in chunks and the author tried to make them cohesive but sometimes it didn’t work.

I might continue with the next book but I am not as eager as I thought I would be to continue it.

This book was just ok for me. It ended in a cliffhanger which I hate.
It is on the new adult side.
Maybe I will pick the next book up. Thanks Netgalley

WHAT DID I THINK OF CHASING RED BY ISABELLE RONIN?
Chasing Red by Isabelle Ronin really is one of those typical new adult books – released I think right around the time a wave of them had released. Friends, this was a compelling audiobook. Do I think there was a lot of substance in what I listened to? No, not really. However, I was totally engaged in the drama of it all. Will I be back for book two? I actually have no idea. As of now, I don’t see the audio available via any of my library apps. If it was to become available though, I would probably listen to it.

So, Chasing Red follows Veronica and Caleb who meet during a night on the town, as Veronica is rocking a red dress which has caught Caleb’s attention. Veronica has just been evicted from her house. She somehow ends up living with Caleb. Caleb is intensely attracted to her and she’s attracted back. Only there’s a couple of trust issues on Veronica’s end and Caleb has a bit of a reputation. Anyways, there’s a ton of drama that happens which I tend to like and well, the book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I think I probably would have been more satisfied had it all just wrapped up in one book.

HOW’S THE NARRATION?
Chasing Red is ten hours and forty nine minutes long. It contains dual narration which is actually neat. The narrators are Vanessa Edwin and Maxwell Hamilton. I did like Edwin’s chapters better than Hamilton’s. Both are narrators who are new to me (I think). I did find this audiobook to be very easy to follow along with and a good escapist listen on two rainy days.

I received this ARC awhile ago but with the reviews I've read made me iffy about reading it but finally did it. I felt it was a bit a Cinderella story with a cliffhanger which I hate. LOL Caleb the rich boy, who is smar and has everything falls for Veronica, who's lost everything and also has trust issues. They meet at a bar where Veronica gets drunk and nearly becomes a victim. Caleb finds out she's homeless and offers her a place to stay. Caleb falls for Veronica but with her trust issues she doesn't fully commit to the relationship and becomes annoying at times and then there's the cliffhanger.

In “Chasing Red (Red, #1)” by Isabelle Ronin we meet Veronica and Caleb. Veronica has had a hard life and nothing seems to ever go in her favor, but one night she runs into Caleb – the campus man whore rich boy. They strike up an agreement that provides Veronica (who Caleb calls Red because of the dress she was wearing when they met) a place to live.

But the more time they spend together the harder they fall for each other. But as insecurities take hold of Red and a friend from Calebs past threatens what they have it becomes clear to Red that you can’t always get what you want.

This is a good summer read with some great secondary characters that add humor to the friendships that are formed. I am now on the search for book #2. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest review.

Rich boy athlete Caleb meets down on her luck orphan Veronica "Red" dancing in a night club. Upon leaving, he sees she's about to be the victim of an assault and he rescues her. He finds out she is currently homeless and offers her a place to stay. He seems a good guy, but she has serious trust issues. She asks him why he's helping her and he replies "I don't know."
Caleb is the more appealing of the characters, but the story didn't grab me. It ends on a cliffhanger and I won't be going further.

Towards the beginning i wasn't really sure, but the book was a good read. The cover is dazzling.

Could not finish this book.

Not very likable characters, didn't care for the drama or the MCs.

When I requested this book I had never read anything from Isabelle. As a first time read for a new author I try my best to keep my mind open so that I can get the full experience. I am so glad that I was approved for this book because it was sooooo good!

I couldn't get enough of this story and the characters that were within the story! I was sad when the book ended and I couldn't just keep reading! I am very hopeful of a continuation or sequel to this book!

I just couldn't get into this book. I found the characters annoying & lacking development. I made it to about 55%, but I had to stop there.

I cannot say enough good things about this book! This book is a perfect example of why I love the New Adult genre; it's for a young enough audience where there are just silly laughable moments that you have been able to relate to at some point in your life, there is love, obstacles, pushing your boundaries, and my favorite - ANGST. SO MUCH ANGST! And the ending?! YES! I would definitely recommend this duet to those of you who love Colleen Hoover. And can I tell you how heartbroken I am to find that this author hasn't really written that many other books?! UGH. I would read every book of Ronin's if they were all written a perfectly as this one. Can't wait to read book two!!

Not really my type of book...young romance with a lot of redundancies. Was a quick read and flowed well...and you left us hanging at the end.

I really tried to like it, I tried many times but I couldn't .The story was ok but the characters not at all!I hope the others will enjoy it more than me

This book was a tough read for me only because it wasn't very interesting. It was just really hard for me to get through and I kept hoping it would get better....but it didn't. The characters just seemed immature and the plot line cliche, a rich boy trying to save a damaged girl. It reads like a YA novel, maybe that's why I wasn't too into it since being in my mid thirties - that's not really a genre I gravitate to.
