Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas is book twenty-three in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear.  Not having read all the books in the series, I didn't know if I would be ok reading this one or not. Have no fear! This can be read as a standalone as Terry gives us all the background we need to dive into this book.

Candice was accidentally turned while camping with friends.  She fed a cute little puppy who bit her as puppies do! Soon after, she freaks when she starts to sprout fur and literally shift into a wolf-a very beautiful white wolf at that! Totally at a loss and knowing she can't be seen like this, she quits her job and moves to a remote cabin in the woods. Being a romance writer, she can write from anywhere. So living as a recluse is not hard. Looking for new material to write in her books, she starts writing from her heart about Artic Wolf shifters.

When her estranged parents leave her an inheritance, Candice's uncle hires a PI, Owen, to find his niece. That uncle had no clue that Owen is an Artic Wolf shifter as well. When Owen tracks her to the cabin and Candice opens the door. She's in for a shock! Owen is also a shifter! And he is excited to find a female Artic Wolf shifter as well! He never thought he ever had a chance at a mate since there were no available females in his pack.  Knowing he wants her to be with him, he needs to convince her to join his pack and to stay with him.  There surely are more males in his pack that would love a chance to get to her too!

This was a nice romance to dig into!  Not overly flowery, overly sexy, or overly "you are my mate" type books.  It seemed to have just the right mix. It did take me a bit initially to get into the story, and it did seem to slow at times, but the story was well written and I liked reading it!

'Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas' by Terry Spear is Book 23 in the "Heart of the Wolf" Series. This is the story of Candice Mayfair and Owen Nottingham. I have been jumping in and out of this series but feel this is easily a standalone book.
Candice is a Romance Writer who focused on that but when a werewolf puppy accidentally bites her she is turned into a Arctic wolf shifter. Which has turned her life upside down with the emotions she going through along with the shifting. Owen has a mission to get Candice to join his wolf pack and to take him as a mate.
Since this story was created around Christmas it has allot of Christmas type story line but also is just a sweet easy read.
Loved it!

This is the first book I've read by Terry Spear and I was really looking forward to read Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas. However, I had a hard time connecting with the writing and the characters. Their romance just seemed lukewarm and I never really fully grasped who they were individually, let along them as a mated pair. I loved the idea the author had and how she wrote her shifters as having human DNA while in human form and wolf DNA while in wolf form. That's something I've never seen in a shifter novel before and I liked that she thought outside the box on that one. With that being said, it just seemed like I was scratching at the surface the whole time and I just could never fully immerse myself in their world. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas. Unfortunately, this book just isn't for me.

Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas by Terry Spear
Heart of the Wolf #23

Simple story of two recently turned white Arctic Wolves seeing one another the night the female is turned but not meeting again for two years. Set at Christmas there are cookies, egg nog, holiday decorations and presents but underlying the story and romance is the loss of parents, an inheritance, a wannabe inheritor and dealing with the shift between human and lupus garou that occurs without warning. There is the welcoming into a pack that Cara eventually embraces, finding an inheritance along with an uncle who is more than she thought he might be and a future to look forward to as the series progresses and more single men find mates.

There was nothing really new in this paranormal shifter book and though quite far along in the series this is a standalone book.

Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for the ARC – this is my honest review.

This was another great paranormal book from Terry Spear.

I really liked Owen and Candace. They were both turned wolves and so this caused no small bit of confusion and a few humorous moments as well. There was a lot of rich history in their story, as well, especially for readers like myself who've been closely following the series. I enjoyed the mystery part and how the author threw quite a few surprises into the plot.
I really love the Heart of the Wolf series and how the author keeps it all fresh for the readers. This shifter world is expanding at a fast pace as our favorite characters keep learning that their world isn't that small after all. And I love that aspect too. I can't wait to see what happens next on the front. Lastly, I enjoyed the holiday theme, and catching up with some of the previous characters, as well.

This was a great book with a wonderful and really sweet romance.

Candice and Owen are both newly turned arctic wolves. Owen is sent to find her under his PI business but he was already looking for her after seeing her the night she was turned.

The story is fine. The writing is a bit off to me but it is still a fine book. I never connected to the characters and the story didn’t have anything much that hasn’t been done before.

OK read if in the mood.

Story about the misadventures in the life of Candice, formerly known as Clara. Terry Spear creates an atmosphere of shifters via slowly developed characters amid the landscape of snowy forests whether in Maine, South Dakota, or Minnesota. Candice meets another white wolf shifter Owen who ends up being her mate. Thrown in with all this is the possibility of Candice's inheritance. Of course it all turns out with a happy conclusion and yet leaves the door open for books about the other single guys in their pack.

My Rating: 3.5 Stars
Holiday reading should be special, reflecting that magically feeling of the season. Terry Spear’s DREAMING OF A WHITE WOLF CHRISTMAS does keep the “sweetness” quotient high, the “spicy” quotient, not too overpowering and is a tale of caring, need and being happy for and with those you are closest to. There are no super alpha wolves, no overly bloody battles, but there is romance as one white wolf finds his mate while on a job for his private investigating firm.

Candice’s life has changed since she was bitten by a young wolf cub. Little did she know that little cub would do more than make her all furry as PI Owen Nottingham shows up to tell Candice she may be the missing person he is searching for. Seems these two have more in common than a burning attraction and Candice will learn she is not alone in her furriness anymore, but that may not be the biggest surprise in store for the beautiful artic werewolf.

Terry Spear’s wolves are back just in time for the holiday season! A light read that holds just a sprinkling of spice, sometimes its sweetness was just a little too much and the descriptions got a bit simple and repetitive. Wonderful characters who are easy-going, accepting and almost too good to be believable as many scenes play out like a scene within a snowglobe, fluffy, pretty, but almost too “perfect.”

This felt rushed and disjointed. Not enough plot or relationship building.

I found this one to be cute, very sweet and charming. Maybe it was how Candice was changed, it was cute, even if it changed her life. I liked that Candice didn't wallow in her bad luck, but figured out a way to live her life.

Owen finding Candice even went well. They got along great and Owen seemed to give Candice relief that she wasn't alone in life. Candice learning more about being a wolf was great, they seemed to have so much fun talking about their learning curve at being a wolf. I was glad that Candice made the decision she made to go back to MN with Owen. Minnesota seemed to open a whole new world for Candice, to see how a pack worked, to see another woman as a wolf, just to be around other people. And of course there was the added bonus of a romance with Owen.

The drama with Candice's family was interesting. I liked how it ended up, liked that Candice was able to get that part of her life back.

Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas, by Terry Spear is an intriguing paranormal romance with a high emphasis on involuntary shifting due to the moon cycle.

Due to an accident while camping, Clara Hart became an Arctic white wolf shifter, and her entire life changed overnight. Clara is first introduced to another wolf shifter when Owen Nottingham arrived at her home, while on business as a private investigator. Owen and Clara instantly realize their shifter connection, which is troublesome to their daily lives. This book continually features on two issues that don't usually appear in the shifter books I tend to read. These on-going issues are involuntary shifting due to the moon cycle and turning humans into shifters with biting, and most of the story focuses on these shifter issues.

Since it's the twenty-third book in the Heart of the Wolf series, it's technically ideal to start with the first book, Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order. I started the series by reading SEAL Wolf Undercover, which is the twenty-second book.

Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas is geared towards those who enjoy reading paranormal shifter romances.

I received this from Netgalley/ publisher in exchange for an honest review. This was just not a hit for me. The story moved way too slow for me. I just was not enthralled with it. The characters were okay and I liked them a lot but I just wasn't over the moon for i

A fair book by a great writer. Generally I have liked this author's work, but this one felt a little incomplete. I liked the characters fine, but more details and more background would have made a much stronger work. Also, considering the title, I expected a bit more of a Christmas book. They have a tree, and a wreath. but otherwise I didn't get the feeling there was much else to the title. Would still recommend, but not my favorite by this author.

Loved these wolves! The beautiful Minnesota setting is captured perfectly. Owen and his friends are a peaceful wolf pack who only want to live their lives hidden among humans. I think Candice is just right for Owen, and the developing romance fits with the story line. The secondary characters are great, and I can't wait for the other bachelor wolves to get their book, especially David. Appearances from other shifters will have fans rejoicing and anxiously awaiting future books.

This was my fourth Heart of the Wolf story from Terry Spear. While I was lounging on the beach during my vacation I read this delightful Christmas story. Speaking of contrasts, this story was definitely a lot different than SEAL Wolf Undercover. It more had the feel of A Very Jaguar Christmas. And even Demetria and Everett are starring in this story, so it is nice to meet them again. The story is not about them though. But it is about the wolf cub they had found. This cub, Cody, has grown since then, but he is still a bit of a drifter. And now he was wandering through a campside where Candice Mayfair is camping with some friends.
After feeding the cute little puppy, she accidently gets bitten by him. And then suddenly she finds herself shedding fur and changing in and out of a wolf. Scared out of her mind, she quits her job and starts to live as a recluse in the woods. Fortunately she can earn her living with the romance books she was already writing. And what way to better tell stories, then to use your own experiences? So Candice starts to write about Artic White Wolf Shifters...

When her parents leave her a large amount of money in their testament, Candice's uncle hires private investigator Owen Nottingham to track down his niece. Little did he know that Owen is a Artic White Wolf himself.
So you can image the shock when Owen appears on Candice's doorstep and they 'smell' each other.
Candice is shocked to discover she is not the only one and Owen is delighted to find a female shifter. The only other female shifter in his pack is already happily married, so he had no reason to believe he would ever find a mate. However, there are more males in his pack and so he has to convince Candice to come and live with them. And, preferably with him.

As usual, Terry's books are warm and cosy. Even sitting on the beach, I felt the longing for the hot cocoa and the christmas tree. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Owen knows his woman means business at times, “it’s not that—” She gave him a look that said she was in charge of this situation, then pulled out the ice pack and handed it to him..." Being interrupted is not one of Owen's favoite things, especially if things were getting good with his lady, “she shifted back, and we just had dinner. We’re kind of busy. Let’s talk later unless you’ve got really important news.” I fell in love with Owen I loved this book.
