A great book. This was the first time I have read a book by JoAnna Grace, but it will definitely not be my last.

Bo Galloway is trying to start over back in Riverside, TX where he grew up. The only family he has is his grandmother, Nan, who he's now living with. She's the mother to him that his own Mother couldn't be. Five years ago, after defending his drug addict mother from being strangled by his step-father, his mom then lied to the police and said Bo was trying to kill her husband. He then served 4 years in a California prison, when he should have been in college.

Bo's looking for construction work, and the owners know his Grandmother, so he goes for an interview; with trepidation. Once an employer finds out that you are an ex-con, they tend not to hire. But Bo gets the job.

Tina Foster, is the daughter of Foster Construction, she and her dad, Duane, own the business together. Only Tina now handles the construction sites and her Dad runs the business side. Her father broke his back several years ago, and after a botched surgery, he now walks with two canes. So Tina runs the show. All of her crew are men, and they love working for Tina. If someone doesn't, she tells them where to go.

When Bo is introduced to Tina as his new boss, the chemistry between them is strong, but they both ignore it for each other's sake. He's impressed with how she runs the business, works hard in construction right along with the crew, and he admires her.

Tina doesn't know what to do about the hot new hire. Her friends tell her to be nice and see what happens. But she's been hurt before, so she treads lightly.

A definite must read!!

I really liked this book. Except, the fact that Bo went like super alpha towards the end which was a bit inconsistent with his character in the beginning of the book.

I liked Bo though, his personality was calm cool and collected. He reminded me of one of those people that don’t speak that much but when they do, you listen, cause you know its something important. Those kind of people fascinate me cause I can’t keep my gab shut! 😉 His love of family was inspiring considering his shaky past, but I loved that he wasn’t jaded by it. I wouldn’t have blamed him one bit if he was.

And then there’s Tina. Ah, I may have a ladie boner for this woman! She had sass without coming off as a diva. She makes you think YES! Finally a woman who is REAL! The transition between her showing strength and being vulnerable was great! It felt very authentic.

The love story started slow but then once it did it was like someone slammed on the gas which jarred me a bit but I got over it pretty quickly since the story was so good. The water references were consistent and relevant and I loved how they were incorporated into the story.

I’d read more from this author.

Tina is a tough woman who's stepped up for her family in heartbreaking circumstances. Bo is just returning to town with a heart breaking past. It's destined for them to get together when Bo starts working for Tina. But as the saying goes, true love runs an unsteady path. The couple have to face many blocks in the road. This is a great read, and is heartbreaking at times. The only time I managed to put this down was when I had to get the tissues! Great!

This is a nice easy romance. The characters are very likeable, the story is one where you may guess the ending, but the setting and flow is enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone who needs something light that will keep them engaged!
