I had trouble getting into this book. It may have been that i had not read the two previous books in the series but it was very hard to get into.

Court intrigue and battles big and small keep this story interesting and exciting from start to finish!

I just couldn't get into this one. While the plot was interesting, the story seemed to drag. Three stars.

The best kind of swashbuckler--action packed , well written and and historically accurate. Davis is a historian and this tale of derringer do set in the time of Elizabeth and the Spanish Armada simultaneously informs and entertains. Recommended.
