Sage and Nick are friends, best friends. And so when Sage approaches Nick about becoming her baby daddy instead of going through an agency, they both knew it would change their lives but for the good right? Both of them have set plans for their futures... no time for boyfriends or girlfriends. They have each other. Nothing will change, they'll just have a baby to share their love with. But the two of them have a secret each that they haven't shared and when the two find themselves heading down a different road than first planned, will they be able to make through the other side as friends still? I really loved Nick and Sage. They were perfect for each other in every way but they had a huge flaw and that was communication!!! Really it became so frustrating at times, I was screaming at my book! I think if that would have been resolved a little sooner in the book, that would have made the book a 5 star read for me. But I enjoyed the book and their journey to their HEA.

Laramie, Texas – Present Day

Shortly after Sage Lockhart moved to Laramie, she began a not so secret friends-with-benefits arrangement with hunky cowboy Nick Monroe. Now Sage has decided she wants a baby and asks Nick to provide the sperm. In exchange, he wouldn’t have the responsibility of raising the baby, but they would remain friends, living separately. However, when she starts to show, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out Nick’s the daddy, but to family and friends they insist they’re only good friends. But the pressure is on for marriage after fifty-one percent of Nick’s family’s business is sold to another company and the new owners insist that Nick and Sage be married.

Sage and Nick get married, but vow it won’t change their friendship. The sex still remains good, but the marriage part takes some doing, especially after the person in charge of the takeover begins to meddle by keeping them apart. Even with the challenges facing them, Nick and Sage work hard to maintain their relationship, even as it soon becomes clear to each of them separately that maybe it’s love between them. Too bad neither will tell the other.

All Sage wants in WANTED: TEXAS DADDY is a child, and she thinks Nick will be the perfect dad. Nick isn’t ready to settle down and is agreeable to Sage’s plan to raise the child alone, with him remaining in the background. When the company that’s taking over the majority stock of Nick’s family’s company insist that he be married to the mother of his child, Sage is taken aback. She insists on continuing to live in her apartment, rather than at Nick’s ranch, which he agrees to. They pretend to others that they’re madly in love, while behind closed doors they maintain the friends-with-benefits relationship. They truly do like one another, but after being burned in the past by romantic entanglements, neither want to go down that road again.

WANTED: TEXAS DADDY takes us on a journey that begins from the moment Sage asks Nick to be her baby daddy, continues throughout her pregnancy, and finally, to the birth of the baby. It’s a rough road for both of them, but along the way they maintain their friendship and learn how to make a marriage work. Sage’s pregnancy isn’t an easy one, and both are finding out that love isn’t easy either. Part of the Texas Legacies: The Lockharts series by Cathy Gillen Thacker, WANTED: TEXAS DADDY can easily be read as a standalone.

A warmhearted and emotional tale of a couple finding love despite all the obstacles thrown in their path, I encourage you to pick up a copy of WANTED: TEXAS DADDY today.
